This jacket is exactly what I was looking for. Warm but not bulky. Good quality, well constructed. The only negative is I wish the pocket openings were slightly bigger.

great jacket, fits well. looks good, bought as a replacement for the best softshell i ever had (C9) after it started wearing out after 10 years. this jacket is awesome, i got the shark color, looks good, fits great, i'm 5'10" 210 lbs got X-LARGE

This is a great "tweener" coat. Not heavy enough for weather below 40 degrees, but still comfortable for weather in the 55-60 degree range. Very comfortable and the sizing /fit is true. Service from Columbia was great!

Nice looking lightweight jacket for spring and fall. I purchased this for my son-in-law for Christmas and he tried it on when he opened it. It looks great on him.

I just received the jacket and it is only a little to long in the torso but I am a woman and it was expected. If I were a man I would just order my normal size, it would fit perfectly. It is very warm for how light weight it is. The zippers are nice quality and I am really excited to wear it around. I needed a nicer looking jacket to keep me warm while in my slacks and button-ups.

Ascender jacket is comfortable, good looking, and has some weight to it like a quilt.

This is a wind-resistant jacket that is well-designed. Although it doesn't keep me very warm as a sole outer layer, it actually is warm if accompanied by a middle fleece layer.

We use these Columbia jackets and embroidered our company logo and gave them out for Christmas presents

That is the soft shell I want. The size is about right, at least to me. The only thing you need to pay attention is the color. The black one I bought is not really as dark as the shown pictures. It is more like dark grey. Not a problem to me, but maybe an issue to someone else.

Here in the Pacific Northwest a jacket needs to be versatile. This piece is warm but not bulky and if the temperature drops below freezing I'm still warm, I wear a sweatshirt or shirt and base layer. Amazingly windproof. Sheds water very well. Haven't been in any really heavy downpours with it but in and out of the store it works great

This jacket is a favorite of mine on cool to cold days. It provides enough warmth for a winter day in the Midwest with a sweater and is perfect for fall and spring. This is my third Ascender Softshell jacket and I'll buy another when it wears out. The only thing I would like to see changed is the addition of an inside breast pocket. I highly recommend it.

Thrilled to acquire a new jacket almost identical to the Columbiaware one I bought 8 years ago, with all the same quality.

After reading other reviews I was afraid it would be too tight with a sweatshirt or something heavy underneath, not the case. Fit is very comfortable, allows for layering underneath, blocks wind. Good jacket for 60's down into high 40's with sufficient layers. Side pockets openings are a little small wich some may find as a negative, but I like because less risk of things falling out.

Great jacket for cooler weather!

I owned one of these for years ( a gift) and loved it, but did not know what it's product/style name was. It got old (I worked in it as well!) and needed to be replaced, but I could not find one. Finally, knowing it was a Columbia product, I decided to get serious in my search. While returning one that was not the same, I spoke to a customer service rep, and he guided me towards the right one! Thanks Mitch, in Oregon!

I love this jacket, it keeps you real warm, and it looks super cool.

Ordered size Medium. Very nice jacket for mid 40 and up weather. I'm 5' 9" 170lbs with somewhat broad shoulders and wear a 34" sleeve length and this fits perfect with just a shirt on, would be tight with a medium or heavy sweater. Not a lot of extra room for larger belly so consider sizing up.

Classic jacket true to size, good value not super expensive like other novelty brands. Comfy for a chilly or rainy day.

This is my husbands second one of these because he liked it so much he wore it constantly even when he was working in the yard. It has held up beautifully to all his hard work, but now it has paint spatters and other stains so the new one is to wear out and look nice.
