feels just right, feels like you get what you expected for. however, medium size is too big - i'm a man, i used to wear a women softshel size L, and i figured M whould be good - but it was way too big so i returned it and get the small instead - and that's just perfect.

This jacket is warm and comfortable. It is durable and well made. I like that the sleeves are adjustable on the end. I wish it had interior pockets but I can do without that. Excellent Columbia quality

Purchased this jacket as a Christmas gift for my son. He loves it! He is 6'3", 200lb-- bought the XL and he is very happy with the fit. He likes to layer, so this works well as a light weight layer on top to keep him warm and dry. Great resisting the wind.

This jacket is stylish and definitely water resistant. The jacket can handle temps down to 40F but anything lower than that you will need some heavy base layers or a thicker jacket.

I needed a water resistant jacket and this fits the bill perfectly. Its not so light that it can't be worn in cooler weather, and not so heavy that it is only good when really cold. It seems really well made, very sturdy seams and great zippers. I wish it had a pocket inside the jacket like a suit jacket, but I can live without it.

Resilient, comfortable and very well manufactured. What I especially like are the sizes of the pockets. More specifically, the volume is large, but the directional placements of these pockets mean that when full they fall into a placement that is very comfortable and promotes movement.
Within several days of owning this jacket, a steady downpour occurred during an office excursion to lunch. It kept me very warm and the moisture did not penetrate the shell- very happy.
Other things I may say- it runs on the small side in terms of shoulder and armpits. An XL fits comfortably, however, the arm length and waist length is longer than I would like it to be.

I got this jacket at my college (BC) bookstore. It blocks 99% of the windchill while out and about in the Boston winter, especially with the waist cinchcord. I wear it everywhere: it's sporty, casual, and even dressy due to the nice Boston College embroidery (embroidered version not for sale on this site). Also MUCH SOFTER than my North Face soft shell, in terms of both the fleece lining and the feel of the fabric.

My son bought the jacket a year ago only to have it stolen. He loved its style and function. Over the year he looked at other jackets but none met the standards of the original jacket. We bought this one, almost identical to the first and he is very happy to wear it again while walking between classes on campus.

The large jacket fits me comfortably as have other Columbia large jackets that I have purchased previously. The jacket is well constructed and sheds water as touted. Keeps you warm but doesn't overheat you in milder weather.

I bought this for my boyfriend and he loves it! He had a fleece jacket before, but those always get really gross looking. I decided to buy this for him instead and it worked out perfectly. It keeps him warm in the spring and fall, and the color and fit are very nice.

This is the most comfortable jacket in this category I have ever worn. For those breezy evenings when you still want to be outside...perfect. Not too warm, but more than just a shell...this is a perfect item.

I have had several Columbia coats over the years and I am certain this one will be my favorite. It fits perfect and the weight of the coat is just right. I will be able to wear this coat fall, winter and spring. The chest zippered pocket is just the right size and easily fits my smartphone or my wallet.

This a great light weight jacket but very warm and blocks the wind. I hate wearing a big jacket and this was just rightnfor the cold temps.

I'm 5'-9" and 145 lbs and purchased the medium size jacket. It's just a pinch big on me, but still a good fit. With the current cold winter, I had to wait into the spring for enough of a warmup to try out the jacket. I've been wearing it on walks/hikes in 40 - 50 F range and have been very comfortable with no additional layers. It's a warmer jacket than you think based on its weight. I also like the length about halfway down your tush. It also has a nice clean modern look. Definitely a good buy for the price.

i bought this as a birthday gift for my son. i was pleasantly surprised at how warm it is. he had to purposely test out the waterproofing of it and it passed. the water beaded up and ran off the jacket.

We purchased this jacket for my son who is a college student. When he received it, he wore it all day. Never took it off.
Very comfortable. Great chest pocket where the cell phone fits easily.
Great purchase.

This is my favorite soft shell jacket. The fit and style are excellent. I like the handwarmer and chest pockets because they are lined with soft fabric, and the cuff adjustments are also a nice feature.

I read other reviews that said this jacket runs small and that the sleeves are short. I ordered a medium thinking it would fit me well. After some debate I ended up exchanging it at a store for a small which fits nicer and looks cleaner. I don't recall the last time i have ever worn a small. I suggest trying one on before you make your purchase.
Also, before exchanging the product i tested out the medium on a night where it was about 30 degrees(to pick out a Christmas tree), and quickly learned this coat was not for this type of weather. I decided I wouldn't be wearing a sweatshirt underneath and opted to get the small and keep this for milder spring and fall weather.
Other than figuring out the size the jacket is great.

I work in a business casual environment, so this is great to wear to work when the temps are above freezing. I am also outside a great deal in the fall and spring. So far, this jacket has met the challenges of the midwest, heavy wind, mist, and wintery mix.
