I was skeptical about these socks because they are really thick but I shouldn't have been worried. They feel luxurious and comforting. Which sounds odd, I know, but try them and you'll know what I'm talking about!

I hike a lot, at least one weekend trip every month, and have used these socks exclusively. My feet stay dry, and have no blisters to date! Worth every penny; and with such a foot-intensive activity as hiking, there is no excuse to be cheap and skimp on this absolute necessity.
Ended up buying a pair as a gift for a friend who I am trying to drag out with me - I didn't want to discourage him with getting a blister on the first trip out!

Wearing the smart wool sock give your feet the feeling of warmth on a cold day with a hot cocoa in front of the warm fire. Yeah, it's just like that. Go grab a bowl of chili, cozy up next to your dog and let your feet feel the joy of the season.

I wear hiking boots every day. I also wear Smart Wool socks. Lots of people complain about their feet, but I don't need to, since these socks help to keep my feet comfortable all day every day.

I wear them every season except summer and then I will wear them hiking in the summer (especially hiking Katadin this year). They are always comfortable; not too hot and never cold. They last for years and are especially good for me as I am a visiting nurse in a very rural part of Connecticut. I have to shovel myself into and out of driveways and go into houses that are too hot (above 70) and are a little chilly when you are out of range of the wood stove. They have never failed me and have not worn out in over 4 years of wear. I recently bought 5 more pair of the medium hiker socks so I never have to be without them. I also have 3 pair of the heavy duty hiker socks for snowshoeing. Love them! Love them! Love them!

I run dogs in walking field trials and hunt tests and that means being on my feet almost all day. At 67 years old, I need to be kind to my feet and these socks fit the bill.

These socks are the best. I have used them hiking in the past but now they are my favorite socks to wear with my Dansko work shoes in the hospital. Very comfy all day long. I highly recommend them if you're on your feet a lot.

I've tried generic copy-cat brands and they have no where near the quality.

I wear these daily with boots or riding sneakers. My feet are comfortable all day long. I love the fact these socks seem to last forever. I believe the last time I bought them, it was several years ago. I should be good for another 5 or so years!

Bought these for 2 day powerboat course as its freezing out on the water in Cornwall and sailing wellies can draw the heat from your feet. Did the job feet were toasty warm wish I had worn a pair on my hands. I will be using these whilst sailing until the weather warms up.

I own 14 pairs of Smartwools, from light hikers to ski. These are hands down the best socks money can buy. My first pair, circa 2003, are still in service. How do you beat that kind of durability. Granted, I don't wear them everyday but I wear them often.

I have become a big fan of Smartwool socks since I first tried them in 2005. Even though I know they're wool, my feet don't know it - great comfort without any itch. My whole opinion of wool has changed.
I have used these socks for many years - since 2005. They are a medium weight sock well suited to a day hiking or light backpacking with lightweight boots. They wear well and offer good cushioning. For extended backpacking with heavier boot/shoes, I prefer the Smartwool Trekking heavy crew as heavier sock with increased cushioning. Both these socks offer enough "give" that you can easily wear a liner sock if you so desire.

I have used these socks for many years - since 2005. They are definitely a heavy sock well suited to a long multi-day backpacking trip with a medium to heavy pack wearing sturdy boots (however, definitely lighter than the Smartwool Mountaineering sock). They wear well and offer good cushioning. You would probably only use them for day hiking if you were wearing heavier boots and going cross-country over uneven/rugged terrain. For day hiking with lighter boot/shoes, I prefer the Smartwool Hike medium crew. Both these socks offer enough "give" that you can easily wear a liner sock if you so desire.
