Exactly what I was looking for to run with my dog...the limited elasticity is just enough to relieve the stress on the dog while allowing a natural gait that doesn't yank if she gets ahead of me.

This is my second order of the Ruffwear Roamer Leash. I use it when hiking and at the beach. It doesn't hold up as long in the salt water but for normal every day use it is great.

I'm a veterinarian, and I love the Ruffwear product line for my 2 dogs. Admittedly, I used to price shop for my dog's gear (i.e. backpacks for hiking) as the Ruffwear line is on the pricey side, but in the end I'd always end up getting the Ruffwear product - you definitely get what you pay for. This leash has been my go-to for running and hiking (many of the state parks and high-peaks require leashes, and it's nice to keep your hands free) and doubles as a tie-out for when we camp or take a break. I've actually had a lot of compliments on this leash (I use it with the Ruffwear Coupler for my 2 mutts) when hiking. I also love the bungee effect as one of my dogs is a puller. LOVE this product and company! Also, their customer service is fantastic.

PERFECT leash for hiking. I got the large for my 70 pound weimaraner. He tends to pull when on the leash to sniff around so the extra bungee slack is so nice - he's not pulling my arm off. Also a great leash for runs as you can tie it around your waist. Must have for active pups!

I love this leash. The handle strap is comfortable, and I love the lobster claw clasp. The extra stretch really helps with a dog that likes to pull. I used to use the retractable leashes, after many cut hands and trying to reel it in made walking my dog feel out of control. This Ruffdog leash is the best thing that I have ever bought for my dog. I wish that I had known about this sort of leash years ago.

Great leash. The talon clip is much sturdier than the old plastic clip. Great length for running and hiking with my dog.

Let me start off by saying I love ruffwear. Both my dogs wear their harnesses, and have the old style flat out leashes. The claw style fastener is a must for get away artists. But the old construction used plastic buckles for the hands-free waist fastener, both of which busted after a year or two. For that reason alone I love the metal waist fastener. It feels more secure to me. The claw faster seems cheaper though, not quite as sturdy as the old style- no problems so far though. The leash itself has a lot of stretch. I mean a lot. So it's great for hiking, but if you're looking for a hands-free running leash, I would forego this and look into their flat out style that has no stretch. I would give more stars, but I'm not convinced that they can't improve on this design.

This was a total waste of money for me because my dog stops every 2 minutes to sniff at something. Meaning, I can't run with him continuously. I was hoping I could get him to with this leash but it didn't work out.
