1980's sandals were the BEST sandal by far to me.
The toe gripping hump was great exercise for your calf muscles.
Why would a company do way with some that was good for the consumer????
Unfortunately i cannot recommend these until the hump is brought back with good leather strap and buckle

Mine had latches on both sides of the metal latche. Guess what. After 2 wears they break. False advertising and expensive. The original. The latch slides. And the strap gets slimmer where the button size was things are. Not the same shoe. Get the faux ones. They have Velcro are cheaper and have no latches that will break

The most uncomfortable shoe I have ever owned. I am sorry I bought these shoes.

VERY disappointed. I want thewood sandles that have the toe grips. These are not "original"! They planted trees with ones I bought in 2010.

Prior to ordering the above shoe, I have owned 3 pairs of Dr. Scholl's : one pair of the original collection and 2 pairs of the same style but with rubber soles. All have been wonderfully comfortable and served as my "go to" sandal. However, this pair is painful to ware. I think the reason for the discomfort is that the strap is located too far down toward toes. There is inadequate support from the strap across the instep, consequently causing toes to curl in order to hold the sandal on. Had I not tried so diligently to ware the sandal, hoping for a comfortable outcome, I would have returned the shoe and asked for a refund. Very disappointed !!!

Loved these shoes as a kid, couldn?t wait to get a pair.
The strap is so far up it just covers your toes, there?s no way this show would stay on my foot even for one step.
Returned immediately.

There were no instructions in with my dr. scholls sandal and despite watching U tube videos I was unable to adjust buckle to my preferred fit. I had to return.

These are NOT the Original Dr. Scholl's sandals that were meticulously crafted in Italy. These are clunky, with thick stiff leather band and orange rubber sole and made in China. The band cut into my foot and made them impossible to wear. I returned them.

Boo. Not even close to the original, IMHO. Narrow, cheap "wood", of course no "exercise" bump (which I actually thought was comfortable, but maybe my feet were just younger).

Very disappointed with the new style. You need to go back to the original style with the round bump and curved under the toes. I still have my old ones and they are better fit than these new one.

As an older person, I still have a pair of the original wooden sandels from the 70's/80's. They are wonderful. Why? because of the "large bump". That's what made the comfort, with the gripping, and the way they were contoured. The new ones are still cute styled, but basically no bump. I can't keep them on. Why would Dr. Scholl's change a perfect thing? The only thing classic about them is the looks. The new is in no way like the originals.

These were a major disappointment! These are not the same Dr. Scholls wooden clog! There is no "bump" for your foot to grab. I wear an 8 M. I wore them around the house for 2 days and they are too narrow and very uncomfortable. I've had several pairs of the original. My first pair I wore walking around Europe one summer! Needless to say I am returning them! What a shame!

Not the "original" European models I have loved and worn, worn, worn for decades. These are made in China, narrower, flatter footbed, cheaper clasp. So sad.

Review and suggestion is for the Dr. Scholl's corporation, the makers of this beautiful, classic, and sexy sandal... PLEASE, GO BACK TO MAKING THE CUSHIONY MODELS THAT CAME OUT 5-10 YEARS AGO! THE WOOD MODELS ARE VERY HARD ON THE FEET AND NOT COMFORTABLE ONCE YOU ARE PAST 18 YEARS OLD... I STILL HAVE 4-5 PAIRS LEFT OF THE CUSHIONY MODELS AND I CHERISH THEM AND WEAR THEM TO EVERYONE'S AND MY DELIGHT AS THEY ARE SO STYLISH AND C-O-M-F-O-R-T-A-B-L-E! I NEVER WANT THEM TO WEAR OUT! PLEASE, YOU WILL SELL MANY, MANY MORE SANDALS IN THE CUSHIONY STYLE AND EVERYONE WILL BE HAPPY! THANKS!
I'd also recommend:
No other compares to this classic and sexy sandal!

I bought these because I always wanted a pair way back when. Well they scratched up my feet terribly and I got lots of blisters from the leather part which is probably not as high quality as they originally were. I wrote the company was told to send them in and then after months was told they never got them. Sorry. Buh-bye. The shoes never came back to me in the mail so I am sure it is nonsense they never got them.

I've worn Dr. Scholl's sandals like this off and on for years and thought the leopard print would be cute for summer. I have wide feet and assumed (correctly) that I'd be able to adjust the band with the buckle. I felt secure in them after adjusting the band, the familiar slap slap when I walked was the same as ever, but my feet slipped forward so much that I had almost an inch of room behind my heel. Sadly had to return these.

So disappointed in the quality of these sandals. The buckle on the left sandal was poorly attached and would not stay closed securely. When I tried gently to adjust it, a small bit of metal snapped off. As others have noted, these are not made to the standards some of us remember from the 1970s.

I wrote another review on these giving them 2 stars due to the leather stretching, making them difficult, if not dangerous, to walk in, and the difficulty in adjusting them. Shortly after posting my last review, my foot slipped off the side of the sandal as I had described, but this time instead of it only hurting my foot, it also broke the sandal. The part that broke was the metal post that goes through the hole in the strap to determine the width of the sandal. Upon close inspection I was surprised to see how thin and flimsy this metal post was. It was actually comprised of two very thin pieces of metal. These are not the same shoes my mom owned when I was a child...hers lasted forever and mine didn't even make it a year with minimal indoor wear (when I saw how fast the sole wore down after one use going to the grocery store, I decided to wear these in the house only, like slippers). I wanted to cry the day I put these expensive sandals into the rubbish bin, but there was no saving them. This is the first Zappos purchase I've ever been disappointed with and I hope my review saves someone else from experiencing the same disappointment.

I still have the ones I bought in the '60s. They are the originals. Very comfortable footbed. I take them to the shoe repair shop have them put new soles. I had to replace the strap. I bought one of the newer ones. They were not comfortable at all. I took the strap off that one and put them on my original ones.

Loved these shoes as a kid. The bump that your toes hang on to is gone now and the style I chose with the cut out keep turning my feet black. Not so great!
