Very cute and stylish, but in my normal size (8), I wasn't even able to get the boot on. Seems like the instep would have to be broken in quite a bit to enable slipping into them, and I wasn't about to "break in" a pair of boots at this price unless I was sure I was keeping them. Back they go. They're nice-looking, though.

I looked for so long for the perfect black low heel bootie. I finally found them! These are perfect! They are cushioned and comfortable. The shaft height is just right, and they are solid and really great looking. So comfortable right out of the box. Look good with so many different things -- jeans, fancy sweatpants, skirts, leggings. Love them!

I am a size 9 and the fit was great, very comfortable (my feet are medium width and sort of square). My only issue is that they are a bit hard to put on and my socks would stick.

Beautifully well made boots. The 6 1/2 was a bit tight so I reordered them in a Size 7. My feet tend to swell so I was worried about getting blisters. The Size 7 fit is much better for me and I may buy a sole insert so they are more comfortable. I look forward to wearing them this winter!

I wore these for the first time today and they are awesome! I walk over 2 miles as part of my work commute and they did not hurt my feet anywhere, even on day one! That rarely happens. I own 2 other pairs of Frye boots and one pair is over 20 years old. That's why I don't mind spending a little extra for high quality. These boots have it in spades.

I wanted a pair of Chelsea boots for fall/winter and while these didn't have quite the look I had in mind, I am keeping them due to the quality. I am normally an 8 in walking shoes, but got an 8 1/2 based on reviews and they fit perfectly. My feet are slightly wide and ankles are a little thick. After one outing, only the top back of one of the boots was starting to rub -- the instep, heel, and toes fit great. These are more than I normally spend but the difference in quality between these and boots half the price is noteworthy.

Oh my gosh, I LOVE these boots so much!!! They are beautiful & so well made. They fit great and look so sharp. I hate to spend that much on boots but these are my second pair of Frye boots and they are comfortable and I am in love.

Based on the other reviews, I was concerned when I ordered these shoes that they would potentially be hard to get in and out of, and/or not true to size. I had a 2+ week walking tour of Japan planned and wanted to be able to wear these shoes some of the time on my trip. I needed a pair of nice-looking, durable, versatile shoes that I could walk around in without discomfort -- and that I could get easily in and out of when taking my shoes off all the time! Out of the box, the shoes were clearly well-made and up to the Frye standard of construction and durability. (Also, they have a really nice leather smell.) I will also note that I had no trouble getting in and out of them, as described by other users. (I have pretty thick ankles and what I would describe as medium-to-wide feet. Not quite wide, but on the wide side of medium, and had no trouble with putting them on or removing them.) The shoes were comfortable right away, with no pain, tightness or pinching. Over the course of the first day, I did start to feel some tightness across the metatarsals, which I attributed to normal break-in. This is not my first pair of Frye leather boots, and in past experience, after a week or so of wear they mold beautifully to the foot like a glove. This tightness felt normal, like break-in, and not too tight, like enduring discomfort. I am very satisfied with the purchase and keeping the boot -- good job Frye!

These boots are so beautiful and comfortable! And, as soon as I put them on my "coolness factor" was raised considerably! A size up is a good idea if you have wider footsies and toes.

The chocolate brown is a beautiful, rich brown. I was rather worried when they arrived because they were very hard to get on (the elastic was very tight) and they were very snug over the top of my foot. (I normally wear an 8.5 shoe and have a size 9 in a different style of Frye boot.) I had to heat them with a hair dryer and shove my feet into them with thick socks to get them to stretch a bit. (Be careful about pulling them on with the loop in the back, the rivet was not secured very well and I had to take them to a shoe repair place to tighten the rivet back in place.) Now, I love them! They look fabulous with jeans and with dress pants.

I LOVE these boots! They are beautiful and comfortable. Yes they are pricey but worth every penny. I usually wear a size 6 1/2 and ordered these in a 6 1/2 and they fit perfect.

I got these a half size bigger than my normal size. They were too tight when I first put them on, but after wearing them a couple of times, they fit really well. I love these boots. They are really slippery when wet. I fell on my butt on the streets of Chinatown in San Francisco, so I will be taking these to a cobbler to get non-skid soles added. They are totally worth the price.

A bit small for me with wooly socks, might stretch out over time but don't want to risk it. I wear an 8 or 8.5 normally. Am getting a larger size.

Love this boot! The only thing I don't like (and it's a little thing) is the loop on the back. it catches on the bottom of my pant legs and I have to adjust it every time I stand up. Otherwise, it is a beautiful boot and I look forward to wearing it for many seasons. Very well made.

I tried these boots on straight out of the box, and they are so comfortable! They fit true to size and I can wear them with warm socks during the winter. I will be wearing these a lot, and I am sure they will be a favorite of mine. I have two other pairs of Frye boots and they still look great after lots of wear. I cannot wait until the black Chelsea Phillips are back in stock!

These are beautiful boots. They run true to size and are comfortable out of the box. This was my second pair. The first pair was defective. A Frye boot defective?? The leather got wet and bubbled. Second pair, no problem. Zappos has a great return policy!

Great little boots - didn't have to break them in, just started wearing them. I got them for an upcoming trip to Europe where I wanted to have a cool, casual boot that I could wear with pants or skirt.

Super comfortable shoe. Took it on vacation straight out of the box. Wore it sight seeing in Switzerland for 5 days. Felt better than my walking shoe. Wish the toes box was a little more pointed. Looks good with skirts.

Beautiful boot - fits perfectly and is oh, so comfy! I couldn't be happier, and I would not hesitate to recommend it. Got the grey color, which is hard to determine if it's grey, tan, green or ? But it's beautiful and will go with everything. My normal size is 7-1/2 and that's what fits perfectly in this boot. Easy-on-easy-off. Great boot.

These boots are understated "cool." They're great with blue or black jeans, but they can also dress up or dress down easily. I could walk all day in them and did all over London last February. They have good arch support and they're not too heavy. I'm literally staring at them now, pondering another pair in black just to have a back up!

I have this boot in dark brown, and I love it. I am a size 8 and it fits fine. It is a bit hard to get on and off, however thin your sock is - the tab on the back really comes in handy then. The side gore panels definitely need to be a bit more stretchy. However, the boot is so beautiful, I am willing to overlook this issue. I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

Love these boots, the super soft leather eliminates the "break in" process. The downside is that they scratch easy and the bottoms are smooth so they are a bit slippery, I took them to the shoemakers to have them add rubber to the bottom after slipping one too many times. Still love them!
