Loved this boot but could not get it past my high instep. I was so disappointed! Can't comment on fit because I couldn't get my foot in.

Frye needs a lesson in the anatomy of the human foot. Great designs but THE most uncomfortable shoes in the industry - bar none! The heel slips up and down (as it does in most Frye boot), the toe box is too tight, the boot is rigid and stiff and very uncomfortable and the boot is too long.

Stiff solid black leather rough with unfinished interior around the ankles with these Diana Cut Stud short ankle boots. My Sacha Short Frye's are smooth on the insides and soft all over. The heel on the Diana Cut Stud short seems too light and not solid wood like my Sacha Short boots which are definitely solid heavy wood material. For me the fit is true to size and I have normal to thin bony slim small ankle feet. The inner sole has thin leather padding nothing like cushy shoes like my Keen, Merrell or North Face. The toe area is narrower than an almond toe and less pointy than the Sacha Frye styles. I am able to slide into these boots with minimal bit of effort in thin sport socks or barefoot. A half size larger would have been fine for me but I'm okay with an exact snug fit because all my leather shoes have stretched out in the past.

I have to return this boot! I love it, but I cannot even get my foot in it. I am on a hunt for a terrific short boot. The tall Frye boots slide right on my feet, no problem. But, when I try to get into the short ones, entry stops at the ankle. I just ordered the Melissa Button Short. I'll keep trying, and I'm open to suggestions.

This is my second pair of Frye boots. I love them. They are high dollar, but they will last for years. These are not undersized like the billy ones. They are easy to get on. Cute and comfortable.

I read reviews carefully. Bought my true size. I have narrow feet with a high arch, 9.5. These were tight going on over the arch at first (no zippers). But now after a few wearings, they are very comfortable and supportive. They are also great looking and flattering to the foot. Becoming my go to look for winter. Very happy with them.

Great looking boot, and acceptably comfortable. Well made, if a bit pricey. For what it's worth, they feel true to size to me. I know I will enjoy wearing them.

A beautiful boot! Love the look but the boot runs narrow. After a couple of wearings, thought the boot would stretch and give a little but they have not. I will have to bring them to a shoe/boot cobbler to have them stretched. I also have the Veronica Short boot and they are wonderful and very comfortable.

I love these. They are not cheap, but they are so high quality and great looking. I get compliments on them every single time I wear them. The only thing I"ll say is that my feet are wide - so if that is the case for you, go a size up than normal because these run a bit narrow...the extra room at the top will give you more wiggle room.

Love anything Frye. Frye boots have always been one of the best boot makers. They make their boots in Mexico NOT China which means their boots are hand crafted. These boots are super cute and comfortable. Love them so much I ordered an additional pair.

Purchased the black stonewash color. These are stunningly cool boots that look like they've been lovingly worn and tended to for years and years. I'm an 8.5 normally (sometimes a 9 depending upon manufacturer), but took an 8 in these. Snug, but not overly so. Will wear a very thin, silky type sock with them. Just like a new authentic cowboy boot, they slip at first but that will stop once they mold to the foot.

I swore that I would not buy any boots this year, but these were a birthday gift. They are amazing. The leather is thicker/stiffer than some other boots, and the toe box runs narrower/pointier. I wear an 8 in some Fryes; in others an 8½. I am glad that I got these in the 8½. Initially the heel slipped, but that goes away as the boot molds to your foot. They are absolutely stunning, and I know that they will be an immediate favorite - they look really sharp! I always re-sole smooth-bottomed boots immediately with Vibram soles, which I did with these. It makes them last longer, and it eliminates that slippery feeling. Did I mention these boots are amazing?

Got the black washed vintage and tried them on with no problem. Have only worn them in the house and they seem comfortable. They also seem true to size. A little more than I wanted to pay for boots, but can't keep away from Frye!

I was replacing these from the distressed pair. I asked the customer service lady that was politely helping me if they were the same height as the distressed ones because they looked lower. She said they were the same boot except the brown one was not distressed. When I received the boot they are, indeed much shorter they are ankle length. Rather than return them I have decided to keep them because for one, they are so comfortable and I don't have any ankle boots. I don't wear them with and socks when I have long pants on. Even though when I tried on socks while wearing them, they were comfortable. But again I still don't see why the price for this manufacturer is so high!

The feel of the leather is remarkable! The most I have ever paid for pair of shoes is over $100. But when I looked at these boots I just couldn't stop looking at them. Now that I have them, the pictures did not lie. I have not worn them outside yet, but am sure that they will feel okay. One thing though, like any cowboy boot, you have to manage them on. I wear socks most of time and they still feel good. Excellent. Money well spent.

I saw these boots on sale elsewhere, in my size 9. I so wanted to take them home, but like previous reviews, I struggled to get my feet into the boots. Once in, they looked great, but felt tight in the toe box. A 9.5 would most likely have fit the bill. As every minute counts on a morning work day, I had to pass them up. May order the Melissa button short with zipper from Zappos in the fall. I've had success with that model in the past.

I received these as a gift. They are hard to get on, but once on fit true to size. They are stiff and narrower in the front and the back heel lifts slightly (as normal with cowboy style boots). I'm having them stretched in the front to see if this helps. I have always worn a size 8B in Frye boots and these just feel different. I've been told they continue to get comfortable as you wear them in. I'm willing to work with them because the style is REALLY great. I have the vintage black color.

Love how they look, effortlessly cool. The picture doesn't do the boot justice. They definitely run narrower. I love them too much to return, so I'll just try to break them in more.

Wow, are these the bottom of the barrel or what? I guess that's what you get when Frye boots are manufactured outside of the U.S. Two pairs ran a bit short and I didn't really care for the inconsistencies in the "Stonewash." Not sure if the boots were truly a pair. Too bad... the style is adorable and has much potential.

I got these boots today. I have other Frye boots and love them. It took a tremendous amount of effort to get these boots on the mouth of the boot is so small! I have narrow feet and I struggled for five minutes to get these on, they were so tight. I could not imagine struggling with these boots on a regular basis! Once they were on they were on they were ok, very slick on the bottoms. I returned them.

I love this boot. It is adorable with dresses, leggings, and jeans. Unfortunately the right boot is a little funky. The left is fine. That's the only reason I'm returning it.

I bought this boot as a birthday present for my wife. She had a lot of issues putting on and after struggling for 5 minutes she got her foot in, only for the boot to be very very tight. She has another pair of Frye boots that she's never had a problem with. I would suggest going up a half size up.

I should have listened to the other reviewers who said that the boot runs narrow and the fit is just a bit off. This is too bad because the boot is great looking but the discomfort outweighs the looks. I have a pair of Frye boots from 30 or so years ago and they fit like a glove. Frye must have changed manufacturing standards or subcontractors because the next pair I bought ran narrow and took 6 or so months to become comfortable. I bought these Diana Cut Stud Short boots because I love the look, but again the fit is awful - very narrow and a lot of slippage in the heal area. Regretfully I am returning this pair because the poor fit outweighs the great look of this boot, which incidentally is too much to pay for such a poor fit. I probably will not be buying Frye boots again.
