These mitts are hot! I can't take them out until it's at least -10 or there are sweat puddles inside them. I've had them out in -30 and been perfectly happy as long as i'm moving a little, which is something I've never been able to say before. They are the best mitts I've ever had for extremely cold weather.
Although the wrist skirt seems to be somewhere in between fitting over my jacket and fitting under it I can't even get mad about it because I'm too happy with how cozy my hands are.

These are my go to mitts for extreme cold weather. They are light weight, block wind and easy to use with hiking poles.
I recently used these to summit Mt Washington, NH in icy conditions with a temperature of -25 degrees and sustained 70-85 MPH winds. The entire time my hands were over heating and never cold.
The only CON I have, is no leash. But that's more of a personal preference.

This glove is great for kickin around town, hiking through the snow to the cliff, or even belaying while your partner goes for a red point burn in cool sending temps.

These are the perfect mittens to add to your pack as your extra warm hand layer. They weigh next to nothing, and are perfectly warm for a cold day, or when its time for your ski descent after a long skin up the mountain. Highly recommend.

Great gloves, fit well and have good movement...biggest complaint is that they keep you hands too warm. I live in NH (cold) and when you wear these and do ANY type of activity, your hands sweat very quickly - can't imagine that wouldn't be the case unless it's below zero.

I use the mitts during winter hikes. They work well for temps above 20 F.

I have used these mittens while hiking. Better than my old REI down mittens.
The loops make them easy to pull on.
I wish they had a soft material for nose wiping on the trail.

Very warm and worryfree use, being it swiping the snow away from the lid of the garabage can or having a snowball fight. It's tested in the recent cold wave, -3F (about -20C). I'd like it to be a little more flexible. And the cuff could be shorter so that it doesn't push up the sleeves of my coat.

I bought these after a stint of < -30C days. My hands said get something better and so I did. I've been using them to warm up while standing around on belay stations for ice climbs. Happy hands = better climbs. I marked them as a 1/2 size too small which may be unfair. I have small hands and I am used to being able to have a slightly thicker liner glove in. That said, it'll need to be pretty cold to require that.

I left my old OR mitts somewhere, after 15+ years of happy use. They were very thin, with no insulation to speak of, but were quite warm and windproof. I miss them. This product seemed to be the closest facsimile.

These gloves are fantastic for the purpose I bought them for... Mainly to be really warm. So far they fill that mission well.
Comfy, Warm, Well Built. Downside, they definitely look like technical oven mits. But I suppose a lot of mits look like that :)

I use these backcountry skiing. The black fabric does not shed snow. I bought for warmth and they do the job but because of the gloves holding snow, after a day of skiing I feel they are loosing insulation value and therefore warmth.

I called the company before buying and was advised these would keep my hands warm during my residential outdoor use here in the Midwest US. On 20 degree F days my fingers were cold in five minutes. I called the company and they recommended the next size larger would fix the problem, assuring me that these are designed for Alpine weather and users regularly wear them hiking, ice climbing and mountain climbing at below-freezing temperatures with rave reviews. I swapped for the next larger size and found no change in their performance. Without wind, at temperatures in the 20's or below my fingers are cold in five minutes. If it's windy, it doesn't take that long.

ordered a small and a medium because I was not sure so with that I will tell you that if your not sure order a size larger. I returned both pairs because they were short in the cuff which allowed cold air in. also the cuffs were wide no way to keep them from falling off.
