First, I want to explain why I said they felt half a size larger. I am normally a size 9 in women's shoes. Based on reviews of a lot of other boots I decided to go up half a size in these. When I very first put them on I got a little nervous that they were not going to fit, that they were going to be too tight. The boot comes with a removable slipper/booty liner. This booty/liner has a hard sole on it, much like the "Uggs Dakota slippers." Once I removed that liner & I put the boot on with normal socks, and based on that, it was way too big, and it would've been very chilly feeling too. Can these boots be worn without the liner? Sure they can - if you have the proper socks. So, if there's a laundry day where the liners are in the wash, and you need to wear the boots, please double up on your socks or wear boot socks. I put the liner on my feet by itself and I walked around my house a little bit I was quite impressed by the warmth and comfort of the liner/booty. My husband immediately said that it look like something you would wear in a snow lodge. You come in from the snow, take off the outer boots, and keep the warm booty liner on to lounge in. I love it because it solves the problem of needing house shoes immediately accessible as soon as you come in from the cold, snowy, wet outdoors. Especially when you visit other peoples houses and they do not want you to wear your wet boots in their house. I put the liner on first, then I put my foot inside of the boot, I laced it up, and I walked around my house and outside up and down the street twice. After that I decided I would keep these boots. Not only did I love how they immediately felt like they fit my feet perfectly, they were incredibly warm too. I personally love the color purple so this was a perfect find for me. I also love that it is not made out of any animals. The real test was the winter storm we had last night. It mostly consisted of about 3 inches of rain with enough snow to turn it into a soupy slushy mess-cold too. I walked my dog when the rain stopped and was immediately impressed by how warm my feet were and I went through a couple of very high puddles. I am talking ankle high and above. What better way than to test the waterproof claim then to go through puddles that tall? I am happy to report that no water whatsoever snuck into my boots. I'm also happy to report that the minute the puddle water hit my boots it beaded up & rolled off the boots - like water off a duck's back. I couldn't believe how cool it looked so I kept putting my foot in the puddle. I stepped through many ankle high or taller puddles because I wanted to make sure - before I wrote this review - these things were truly waterproof - and not just water resistant. I'm sure if I was in a puddle that went to the top of the boot or almost to the top- it would leak a little bit, because the tongue of the boot is not attached that high up. I was a little disappointed that the boot tongue was not attached to the very top. What I also liked about these boots was that on the back there is a little tiny zippered pouch, and inside is a little bag to put each boot in. You could use it for luggage, or to protect your car. if the boots are very muddy and wet. I took out the little bags, and I use the little pouches to put my ID, and a couple of emergency dollars in when I walked my dog. Also the liner/ booty has clips that attached it to the main boot. I am familiar with this brand because of their summer sandals which I wore a lot as a teenager. I am highly impressed by the make, model, and quality of this winter boot. I am very happy I bought these boots when there was only one review written about them.

Best snow boots ever. I tried boots by Cougar, North Face, Sorel, Kamik and Pajar, returning them all as they let me down in turn, and these were the winners, by a mile and a half. I'm a dog walker and trainer in NYC, walking 12 to 20 miles each day no matter what the weather is doing. I have to be able to get around quickly...I can't stop and gingerly step around huge mounds of snow and gutter ponds if I want to stay on schedule...and these were comfortable enough to allow me to walk briskly and kept my feet dry even as I stepped in snow and slush (though it is worth mentioning that the tongue is gusseted only half-way up this boot, probably because the removable liner wouldn't be removable otherwise). My old Sorel Joan of Arctics are officially retired now - I didn't realize how heavy and unsupportive they were until I tried these. To summarize, a list of the pros: 1) These are as waterproof as snow boots come. I won't say they're completely waterproof because anything with seams is going to be at least slightly permeable (ya know, holes, thread). So aside from buying Hunters or similar wellies and putting warm liners inside, these are as dry as it gets, in my opinion. After a full day of wear in the post-blizzard city, the inside of the boot itself was slightly moist, but the inside of the liner was dry, as were my socks. 2) Super lightweight and comfy. They feel like sneakers, flexible and supportive with lots of cushion. And the soft material above the solid base allows for full range of motion in the ankle, no stiffness whatsoever, unlike Sorels, which kill your ankles until broken in (and would never become this comfortable anyway). The sole is curved at the heel and toe, yet again making walking infinitely easier than in flat Sorels. 3) Warm! Your feel will never get cold in these, unless you have a major circulation problem. The lining is made of quilted Thinsulate and is removable, held inside by Velcro. It's like a boot all on its own, has a rubber sole and everything, and is covered with water-repelling fabric. This is why feet stay dry in this boot. 4) Cool features! They have carrying bags in zipper pouches on the back of each boot. I intend to take the bags out and use the pouches as hiding places for cash and other important, small items. They also have a hook and tab that can connect the back of the boot to the front, in case you want to sleekify them, I guess when putting them inside the bags. 5) Good, deep tread that grips ice and snow well. 6) Unique appearance. The lavender (with purple accents) is so surprising and lovely on a winter boot, in a sea of primary, dark and neutral colors. And now for the only thing keeping these from being perfect (I won't call it a con because these are so close to perfection): 1) As almost every other reviewer mentioned, these are noisy when you walk. It's pretty obviously the sound of the lining shifting and rubbing within the boot...not a squeak, not an obnoxious sound, just a sort of creak. I shrugged it off immediately, not just because I feel the pros justify this, but because I'm not the sort to get embarrassed if people on the train glance up to see whose shoes are noisy and find that they're mine (which no one actually did anyway). So what? There's a vagrant scratching himself and groaning in the corner seat and a girl plucking her eyebrows next to me, I'm pretty sure my class is still intact despite my vaguely flatulent boots (I'm kidding, the noise isn't farty). And anyone in your office who would be snarky about your noisy-yet-fabulous boots deserves to get achy arches, cramped calves and cold feet wearing her yay-I-look-so-apres-ski-even-though-I'm-nowhere-near-a-slope Sorels.

I was immediately impressed with how this boot was constructed. The removable inner liner is perfect to wear as a booty once you remove the outer boot, it keeps your feet incredibly warm and is extra protection against any type of snow that may fall into your boot. The boot it self fit beautifully. I bought one size larger than I normally wear. If I were to wear the boot with out the inner liner it would be too large. With the inner liner it fits beautifully. I wore these boots in dry puffy snow, and in wet slushy snow. Both times my feet were warm and dry upon removing my boots. The height is perfect – mid shin. I love the color. The little extras that the boot has makes it that much better. Like the little zippered pocket on the back of the boot which contains a little bag to store your boots in. Perfect for a suitcase or end of the season storage. The tongue on the booth is attached which adds further protection from snow entering into your boots. I was in snow that was 4 to 6 inches high and I have to say not one flake got into my boot. If you were looking for a quality boo, love the color purple, love keeping your feet dry and warm no matter the type of snow, then look no further.

I've been looking for some new, vegan winter boots and these are super cute! I love the way they look! And they are very lightweight I can tell that they would be quite warm, even for Minnesota. Fit-wise, they do feel a bit snug especially if you plan on wearing thicker socks. Not sure if I'll be keeping them though because they are so squeaky. Every time I shift my weight or take a step they make a crazy amount of noise, which is weird.

I love these boots! They are warm, comfortable, and waterproof. They are lightweight so I wear them snowshoeing and they are perfect! I am so glad I bought them. Worth the price if you are outside a lot.

LOVE these boots. Bought for a trip to Tahoe and while we didn't have much snow, they were so comfortable to wear. Wore them all day through the airports and kept my body super warm. They are so comfortable, I recommend them to anyone.

These are awesome! I live in Boston - there is 6-8 feet of snow on the ground and it's been below freezing all week. These shoes have kept my feet toasty warm, and they are light weight. They are easy to move around in. I found these to be true to size. I love that the inner lining is also a slipper! So comfy! I highly recommend these. Hopefully they last.

Fantastic boots! These are very well thought out. The inner liner even has a thin rubber sole so you really can wear them as a "shoe" around the house and prevent the tracking of snow. They lace tightly, are SUPER warm and snug but are narrow enough that you can wear them under boot cut jeans. I did add an arch support as the one provided is very small.

These were cute but darn near impossible to get on. The laces don't really do anything to loosen the inner booty and if you have wide feet (like me), you are screwed. Zappos service was awesome as usual but back these go!

Absolutely love these boots!!! I hvnt tried them in snow much yet, just a quick Tahoe trip, but they weathered it fine. Wear them as fashion and in functional capacity. They are so crazy comfortable, and I receive many compliments on them from strangers. The price for them is steep, but this far they are earning their keep:)! Adore them!

I had tried the Joan of Arctic, the Katherine by Baffin and then these. I absolute love these boots! Not clunky or bulky, and are so comfy! The tongue is attached to the boot keeping out snow, not too mention there's a boot cover inside to keep your feet even more warm! The inside feels like a quilt, it's so toasty. The boot cover even velcros closed nice and tight no matter how wide your calf is! And man are these things waterproof! I live in Michigan and while we didn't have a lot of snow, I got to splash, stomp and run in the snow and in the rain and it NEVER got in my boot! While I do agree with some reviewers that they do squeak a little while walking, I only ever notice it while I'm in the house. Besides, the little squeaky noises are a small sacrifice to pay for NICE cute and COMFY shoes! I wear size 11 and these are definitely not blocky and are very true to size (Not too big or too small!). I love them! The best part is you can take out the boot cover in case you're muddy or nasty. Too top it off there are zipper pockets with bags on the back of each boot! I would definitely recommend these to any of my friends, and I would definitely buy these again! Thanks Zappos for your awesome free shipping! :)

I absolutely love these boots. Unfortunately the stitching on the line cut into my foot making them impossible to wear. If these came in a wide they would have been perfect. I am very disappointed that I cannot keep them.

Sadly, these are going back because I could not get over how noisy they were. I loved the style - cute and comfortable. I loved the little touches like the back pocket with a tote bag. I'm so disappointed because these had so much potential. I could have tolerated some noise but there is no way I could have worn these at work given how noisy there were.

Very light and comfortable unfortunately I couldn't pass by the squeaky noises. True to size, I'm an 8 I got and 8 and fits well. On the picture it looks more "delicate" than it is. If it wasn't for the squeaky noises I would have kept it.

These have everything an Alaskan woman needs! Warmth, snow protection and style! My feet were already aching from running errands and as soon as I tried these on my feet felt a relief. No cons, only pros on this boot! Oh, and the tote bags enclosed in the zippers come on both boots! Just cool! So cool!

Not happy with these and I am surprised that I disagree with the other reviewers. I give these high marks for cute, but they weren't comfortable. The structure of the boot does not provide any significant support and my feet were even a little achy after wearing them for a few minutes while just trying them on! I wear a 9 or 9.5 depending on the make, and was thrilled to find these - tall enough for deeper snow, traction, waterproof, and cute to boot, etc. Too bad they didn't work out!

I ordered this boot & the Ahnu Northridge. Needless to say I ended up going with the Northridge. I really liked the idea of this boot. The inner boot lining would be so awesome in many situations but it just didn't work out. First of all, I usually wear a size 10 but I decided to get the 10 1/2 so I'd have room for socks. This was a good call as I don't think the 10 would have even fit. Women with large feet will know the eternal struggle to find boots that don't look monstrous. I didn't really think through the whole one boot inside of the other boot, in the picture they didn't look that large, but on my feet they looked GIANT. It looked like I was wearing a cast on my foot. Women with smaller feet shouldn't be worried but if you've got a larger foot you might not like the look of this boot. I read all the reviews on these boots before I bought them. Many people mentioned the squeaking but I thought it couldn't be *that* bad. It was actually that bad. I wanted to get boots to wear on my commute to and from work. Having a squeaky boot is not good for quiet office environments or quiet trains. And it wasn't just a dull squeak, it was extremely loud and every single movement in the boot had it squeaking. Taking the boot on and off was also kind of a pain. it was really hard to get the liner out of the boot while wearing them and just as hard to get it back in. If you're going to have that feature I think it should be easier to use. Not a terrible boot, but definitely not for me and my giant feet though.

I think these boots are so cute, but I had to exchange for a half size bigger, from a 9 to a 9.5. However, I'm not sure I can keep the boots as they are embarrassingly noisy. They have a low pitch squeak and rubbing sound with every movement. I've never had boots that made this much noise. I didn't think it would bother me, but it does.

While I really wanted to love these boots i ended up returning them to Teva. I loved that I could pull them nice and tight around my feet with the laces and still have plenty of wiggle room in my toes. They were nice and warm as well as waterproof. But it had a very stiff plastic heal cup that dug into the back of my foot. I tried padding it, wearing extra socks, and cutting out the velcro bit. Nothing helped, it is just a major design flaw. I ended up with huge blisters. Without that heal cup this boot would be perfect!

Loved these boots but they are difficult to put on in heavy socks. Once I got them on the size I selected, which is my normal size, was too short. I'm bummed.

I don't know how they feel on. I couldn't figure out how to get my foot in the boot. I think that it is poorly designed. I shouldn't need a handbook to get a boot on.
