This is the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. Originally recommended as a "treatment" for plantar fasciitis by my podiatrist. I have been wearing them for 6 yrs and cant find anything as comfortable.

in most shoes i wear a size 8W. i have 2 other pair of brooks shoes and both are size 9B. after getting a recommendation for ARIEL from my podiatrist, and reading the reviews for this shoe, i ordered a size 9 extra wide.......it was huge! as usual, zappos exchanged them with no hassle. the size 8 fits great and the extra wide feels the way older brooks shoes used to feel when they had the wider toe-box back in the good-ole-days. brooks: PLEASE bring back the pure cadence with the wide toe-box! circa 2012.

Great shoe! I have a bad back and these are the only shoes I can wear. I just wish they were prettier colors.

Yes to Brooks! I've had many different pairs of Brooks shoes and they NEVER disappoint. A lot of technology goes into making their shoes so I advise you visit their website and find out your fit after you take their quiz...it really does help. Come back and buy them here! Can't beat Zappos' service!

Overall a great shoe for someone with flat wide feet who need support and stability. This is my second pair of the Ariel 14 and I plan to order another pair to have as a spare.

Based upon others' reviews I brought this shoe a half size larger than my regular shoe size. I initially thought that size might be too small as the mesh toe cavity felt a bit snug. Then I wore them for my daily exercise and other errands - and I found the mesh relaxing. Right now, I would say they are a perfect fit. And wonderfully comfortable. I brought them based on my ortho's recommendation. Pulled out the Brook's insert and added the ProTech Powerstep, again per my doctor's recommendation. It took about a good 2 hours for the shoe to 'loosen up' - but when it did, it felt so good! I think I have finally found my comfort shoe for moderate activity (fast walking) and all around activities.

I wear 8M in most shoes, I always get 8.5 W or D in athletic shoes because I use orthotics. I read the other reviews that said order a larger size but just could not believe I would need a 9. The 8.5 is just too small though. My toes hit the end of the shoe. Returning.

Love these shoes, but they do run small. Thanks to the other reviewers I ordered a larger size than usual.

I am 7 months post op bunionectomies and had some issues with a weight bearing change in my feet that required custom orthotics. I've never tried Brooks but should have. These are extremely supportive for my flat feet! If I don't wear them I have pain. Make sure you order a larger size. I am a 9.5 wide. The 10 EE fits perfectly with the orthotics.

With an extra wide right foot and a wide left foot, finding shoes has always been tedious, complicated, and annoying with many trial and errors. These shoes were said to be perfect for my extra wide foot and they were absolutely correct! These fit so comfortable and perfectly snug. I go to the gym, run, and walk in them. They have this lift, like some air/gel cushion that makes the shoe feel new everytime I slip them on. I would highly recommend this shoe and buy them again.

My daughter who's a marathon runner told me to move from New Balance to Brooks Adrenaline. I did and have loved them. Then a foot specialist said the Airiel would support my feet and lower back and posture even more. I am trying out now. In regular shoes I wear a 71//2 B but it must be a wide B. In Brooks I wear an 8D which gives toe room. I've had bunions removed and a morton's neuroma so can't take any crunching of toes. My three Adrenaline 8Ds are great and roomy. perfect fit. This 8D Airiel 14 which just came is 1/8 inch longer than the Adrenalines! It makes my foot look so big and I'm thinking there is too much toe room. Think I 'll wait till the 16's come out. I have lower back issues and this foot specialist is helping with that. He put me in arch supports for the inside of the shoes and it makes all the difference in my feet happiness and my POSTURE. He said Brooks was the best. I was amazed. I DO LOVE THE BROOKS SHOES!!

These shoes were recommended to me by my podiatrist for my Plantar Fasciitis (PF,) and they're absolutely WONDERFUL!! I've been wearing them nearly every day for about 18 months, getting a new pair every 6 months or so. I also have pairs for inside the house, outside the house, and a pair just for working out. They've helped my PF feel so much better! I do wish that they came in different color combinations, I'm getting sick of the 2 available. I have a 10.5 (so many shoe companies don't even make 10.5's, so I'm thrilled that Brooks does!,) wide foot with high arches that are now falling due to PF. I also over-pronate quite a bit, and these are the absolute perfect shoes for me- so comfortable!!

Great shoe specifically designed for those who over-pronate (your ankle turns to the right and you wear down the right corner of your shoes). Zappos service was fantastic with prompt delivery and exchange when I discovered I would need a larger size. (Typically I wear a whole size larger in athletic shoes, but with this shoe I needed a size and a half larger.) Thanks Zappos!

I just recently found out I have PF, heel spurs, and a neuroma. Doctor told me I need better supportive shoes. I ordered these and they feel great! Lots of cushion. My feet didn't hurt as much. Hoping they come out with a newer version soon. I'd like to get more colors.

I have been having Achilles tendon pain and plantar fasciitis. My sister recommended these shoes and they are AWESOME for good support. I love them. My feet are not hurting for the first time in years.

I have bought at least 6 of this Ariel Brooks shoe. The #14 was immediately comfortable. My feet are wide, the size is true, and I love the support.

I love my new shoe!~ I knew the shoe would be a great fit (and what I needed with my orthotics) but I was hesitant about the color. But once out of the box, I loved them. Good company, great shoes.

A great shoe -- though pricey. Very comfortable. Recommended by my podiatrist as I have plantar fasciitis. Has a lot of support and structure. Don't usually need it but bought a double wide. So may run a bit narrow but they have multiple widths to choose from.

I love these shoes! Not only are they comfortable for walking, which is what I use them for, I love the color and the shoestrings, which are a little spongy so they stay tied. I also wear them to work where a friend complemented me on them and I told her how comfortable they are right out of the box. I usually wear a size 9, but I buy the Brooks shoes in a 9 1/2 Wide and they fit perfectly. I don't have a high arch, but this show gives me the arch support I need. I bought the Addiction walkers to wear in the winter though. The Ariel is made for running so they are made of mesh which will let the cool air in to your feet even in the winter. By buying the Addiction Walker which is leather, I should have no problem with cold feet. I am buying 2 pairs after I loved the last pair I just bought in this color. I always stock up when I find a shoe I really like so these 2 pairs will go in my closet to replace the older ones and they start showing wear.

This Brooks Ariel 14 works great for me, this was my second pair. Very comfortable and helps with a bad ankle. Gives excellent arch support too.

I bought two pr in Navy/silver/white... Best shoe ever. Very comfortable. Wear them daily and have had them about six months. The look new! I have flat feet, weak ankles, bunions etc. I hope the navy color returns. I don't care for the pink/smoke....the navy blends nicely with different pants and shirts that I wear.

I walk all the time, and am constantly looking for a good sneaker. These are the most comfortable and supportive shoes I've had in a long time: they feel like comfy extensions of my feet. Highly recommended for those with an active lifestyle or who need strong joint cushioning.
