Perfect for globe trekking trips. Big wheels are better wheels and should be designed for the real worlds vs polished airport floors. Cavernous design and well-thought sub-compartments. However I just got it so can't opine how well it holds up with abuse. So far so good. The bright color is a big plus so you easily find it and can keep your eyes on it in sketch places. This replaces my Jansport and offers more room and better shape profile. Didn't want to go bigger than 30". Overseas domestic flights often up charge for < 20kg so this could easily hit that threshold. Pack wisely. Pack everything you think you'll need then remove half of it.

Used for multi day (hotel) bike tours. Needs to be indestructible, loads into a van with a bunch of other bags. Gets dragged across parking lots. Gets left outside in the rain until I show up to haul it to my room. It's a bit heavy even when empty, so pack light so you are not trashed at the end of the 35 day tour!

I have a bunch of different bags from TNF but this one is my favorite. I can put everything I need inside it.

Great bag for traveling, was able to fit clothes for 1-2 weeks plus toiletries. On return travel had to check bag. Black smudges ended up on yellow material, smudges cleaned off with soap & water.

We needed a duffle long enough to fit free dive fins for an international trip. This bag is amazing. It fits so much and is extremely well constructed. We usually buy Patagonia duffles but this is a much better fit if you need something with slight structure and wheels.

Use the bag for long weekend trips when flying. This is the second 22" bought for my husband. Main reason I bought it was for the strong wheels!!

Love the thick, strong wheels!! This is our second bag. The first one I bought it for my husband, but I ended up using it most of the time. So I bought one for him to use!

I was looking for a gear bag that was long enough to fit my travel fishing rods in and this was perfect. If you are considering this bag you are probably looking for a real gear hauler and for me this fit the bill, but its big, like really big, I exceeded the 75# gear mar w/o really trying and still had lots of space. One potential negative, which I didn't realize is that there is No extension handle on this bag and rather it is pulled around by the sturdy nylon straps on n the top- given its size this works well but I came into the airport fully loaded and had to manipulate some luggage to be able to pull this with my other bags.

Solid, heavy-duty (and heavy) bag. I bought this to replace my old (first generation) rolling thunder that finally was falling apart after too many airplane trips. This new version has a hard plastic bottom and should hold up to airline conveyor belts better. It has more pockets and is a nicer bag overall. At around 10.5 pounds, this one's heavy, but it's one of only a handful of bags that I've found that can hold two sets of scuba diving gear and has a waterproof fabric. Just with the zippers were coarser so that they won't get stuck with salt crystals.

Perfect size for a carry-on. Well equipped. Was a perfect gift.

A truly excellent bag. It looks sleek and performs really well as a carry-on, fitting easily enough stuff for a 3-4 day trip. Really glad I purchased this, and am now looking to buy a bigger size in the same range for longer vacations too. Well done North Face!

I have four Roller Thunder bags and I love them. I have two 30" bags and two 22". I am a location Sound mixer and I use these to transport gear. I had a handle break on my 30" and I sent it back and they sent me a gift card for the price of a new one. Awesome!

I exchanged this product for a 75L option (not sane model) as i eidnt realize 155l would be THAT big. It doesnt have a carry handle

Works great for strapping on back of motorcycle due to loops and handles. Exactly what was needed.

This is my go to bag for all international trips. Everything from one week so month long trips - it handles it all. I love how rugged it is, the wheels can go pretty much anywhere and it's waterproof which you need more than you realize when traveling around.
