I have not been able to "test drive" these fluffy, warm mittens in cold climates yet, but they feel warm, are very comfortable, true to size, and the longer length can either go inside my sleeve or outside and prevent the wind from going into my jacket.

Overall I like this product; i think it's good quality for a decent price. However, the gloves did fit smaller than I expected. I am 5'3" and 110lbs so I always wear an XS or S in everything. I got a small and they are TIGHT! They almost seem like a large in kid's. Definitely order up a size! Other than that, though, I am happy with the product

I bought these to match my North Face fleece jacket. They are so warm! They run a tad big, but I thought the next size down would be too small. I love the grippers on the bottom so I can drive or grip a snow shovel. So far I am pleased.

I bought these same mittens in 2013 but in black. The overall design of the mittens remains the same, but the new ones are not as "thick" as the other ones, so I am not so sure if they will hold up in super cold weather or not. So far, they are good for our current temps in MPLS, but once it dips down to the 10s and below, I'll probably need to wear other, thicker mittens/gloves.

The thumbs are really tight at the end. I have an older pair of these mittens in size medium women's that fit perfectly but when I ordered a new pair this year, I had to go up to a large in order to fit my thumb. It's still a bit tight if I try to put all of my thumb in. It's just weird stitching around the end that makes it too tight. Such a weird thing and seems like it would be an easy fix for North Face.

I purchased the marble print, which I thought would be a fun pop of pattern to my monotonous black winter coat. I knew they were lightweight so thought they'd be perfect for driving - not to bulky, and the grip would help on the steering wheel. I figured I could also layer for outdoor activities such as skiing and hunting. However, know that these aren't the mittens for below zero weather. I would have kept them, but was more disappointed in the aesthetics. First, the black fleece of the marble print is more of a blue/black than a true black, so looked to clash a bit with my coat. Second, DON'T purchase if you have animals! I just put these on for the first time, and the basic black front of the mittens showed tons of pet air.
Otherwise, they seem like a decent purchase; I'll be sadly returning.

This is a soft, fleece mitten, but it's pretty thin. Can be used for everyday comfort but not warm outside for extended activities.

I bought these to take to Norway for the 2016 Youth Olympic Games. I need warmth for watching the outdoor opening ceremonies. I was disappointed that it's just the fuzzy fleece and no liner or insulation. I'm sending them back. These would be good for a typical mid-atlantic states winter casual use only.

These mittens look great, and are no doubt super soft, but I expected a little more thickness/warmth to them. I expected more from North Face apparently. Maybe too much.

These gloves are perfect for non-windy days.
I live in Minnesota. I plan to layer these gloves and wear these over the top

First, I purchased these mittens in 2013 and loved them. I decided to order more this fall and winter. The pair I got last year and the first ones I got this fall were thick and warm. I just received another pair today, that is a totally different mitt. The fleece is thin, they are not warm like the others and the rubber grips are different. I ordered from Dicks sporting goods, and they are the exact mitts you have pictured here . The gloves would be fine for the southern states, but are NOT the quality I had previously received or the quality I expect from the north face. My guess is the company changed the product for cost reasons- the good mitts are made in China, the new ones are from Cambodia ... Bring back the "old" model and the quality! See photo for differences!

My adult daughter loved the look and feel of these mittens for a whole week until two of the seams on the thumb opened up. We were given a refund; but wish that the quality were up to what I expect from the North Face brand so we didn't need a refund. I will be very vigilant in checking the quality of my purchases from this company for a while.
