I decided to get the Atom AR as I already have the Atom LT. This has become my go to winter jacket for everything. It is so comfortable, looks great and is warm. The only time I felt cold was with Temps in single digits and winds gusts over 25 mph. Even then it was a momentary chill. I absolutely recommend this jacket. The only problem I have is due to my size. A large is a little too snug and an XL is a bit big. Not a true problem, just complaint if I had to find one.

I bought Atom AR jacket for doing light to moderate activities (walking and jogging) in Texas winter. The jacket is light, stylish, and well made, and it keeps me warm (not hot) in the typical winter days where temperatures are in the 30-50 degree Fahrenheit (deg. F). Also, with proper layering, it handles the cold days when the temperature drops to 20-30 deg. F. So far, I like the jacket and may grow to love it over time. I am 5' 7" and 130 pounds. The small size fits me perfectly with a lightweight wool base-layer and a midweight fleece mid-layer under the jacket.

6'1 205. Originally bought L and had to exchange for XL. L would have been fine with only a t shirt, though a bit snug even at that. Much happier with the XL. Fits like my couple year old L Patagonia nano puff, though the Atom has a bit of extra length which is appreciated. Really does feel like an ultra premium jacket. Can't comment on the warmth yet. Previously I had the Atom LT which was too similar to my Nano. So, sold it and got this instead. Very happy with my decision. And, gotta say, if you're on the fence between microchip and distortion, my vote is for the latter.

I also have an Atom LT, which I wear every fall-early spring day when doing brisk walks. It is perfect for that, and sheds heat as I move. But I needed something warmer for going to the mountains in winter in California. I searched online and read that the Atom AR was quite different from the LT; it was described as "a furnace." They were not wrong! This jacket is perfect for the below freezing temperatures when not moving fast. I love it. I want to shout out about the perfect fit of Arcteryx clothes in general. Finally a brand that cuts clothing for athletic bodies! Thank you!

I've been looking for an all round winter jacket that can handle 10-32F degrees as well as warmer static situations. This jacket has fit that need perfectly. It fits great and looks great. Cannot reccomend it enough.

Very unique piece, the Atom AR is so much lighter than any other jacket i've worn that I'm still getting used to where it fits in my wardrobe- that being said, I wear it almost every day. It's lighter than a cotton hoody, but warmer than almost all my other layers, breathable for cold weather biking, but doesn't make me overheat when I wear it inside. I don't really understand how this jacket can cover so many bases but I'm loving it. I'll probably have to layer it with a shell for sub freezing days which is a little frustrating but not the end of the world.

I got this as a heavier jacket in addition to my Atom LT and am very impressed the quality and build of the jacket. It's very warm and waterproof, but not bulky or heavy.

I love this Arc'Teryx Atom AR Hoody. I have the rain jacket which is much lighter, this has a light layer of warmth and keeps you fairly warm on chilly days here in the Pacific Northwest. It's not too heavy and not too light, a perfect in between with a hood to keep you warmer. I especially like the tighter wrists to keep the cold air out. I ordered one size up to layer this with another base layer top. Glad I chose this jacket for the upcoming cooler weather!

Definitely a go to jacket for me. It is warm enough that it often does the job of a down jacket. Breathable and generally comfortable. It performs well in the mountains as a mid layer - but can be too warm if you run hot. I love this jacket as a stand alone piece - perfect for apres and around town. I am usually a medium but got this jacket in a large of a more casual wear. Great as a technical piece but also works well as a town jacket or the dry jacket you put on for parking lot apres!

I received it 2 weeks ago. It is exactly what I was waiting for. Medium size because is regular is plenty of room for extra layers. It is warm. Light. Not bulky. I am happy I choose synthetic instead of real goose. Totally recomendable. I am 5-3 126 pounds. I bought in black

So light and easy to wear. In fact I doubted it would keep me warm enough when I bought it. How wrong was I! Also clever tech as never too warm...it seems to regulate to whatever the elements throw at it. A great mid layer too on yukky seriously wet days. Packs up small for my rucksack too! It's my go to jacket and worth the money.

Very happy with this jacket. Will definitely keep in pack for summits. The fit is amazing and nothing ever fits my shoulders. I can get both an R1 tech face AND beta LT pro over over this.

I'd like to take this opportunity to let the bigger guys like me more comfortable with their purchase. I am 6'1" and 250lbs and the jacket fits nice. Even with a couple layers. I just spent two nights in the smokey mountains, with temps in the low 30s and I felt fine. I don't like the cuffs but I get why they are designed the way they are.

This jacket excels in nearly every situation in the cold. It trades a bit of the Atom LT's breathability for all-around insulation, making it warm enough for all but the coldest days. The collar seals in the warmth without being restrictive, and the cuffs do a great job doing the same for the arms and works well with gloves. While not waterproof, the durable fabric and DWR coating stave off the snow and light rain. The "Enigma" colorway I purchased is very sleek and understated, but all of the colors are excellent.

Amazing jacket that is my go to every day. It is both very warm and wind proof but also breathes enough for days where the temperature is fluxuating.

Whether it's for a trail run, ski tour, hike or even a walk around town I seem to constantly be pulling this jacket off the hanger. The synthetic material breathes well and transports sweat so the inside of the jacket never feels sticky when I'm doing high output activities.

Wore this jacket during our recent trip to Iceland. It's warm, very light and packable. It became my favourite travel jacket. Hope Arcteryx will add more color options :)

I bought this jacket last year and it has been the warmest jacket I own! I used it all last winter and it kept me warm even into the negative temps here in Idaho. I would buy this again and recommend it to anyone who is looking for a warm winter jacket.
