Should go one size down for the jacket. This jacket can definitely keep you warm in the cold winter. Overall, I'm satisfied with this purchase

This is my 14 year old son's first Columbia jacket. He loves it! I am confident it will keep him warm while skiing this winter.

I'm 5'9" with a 42" chest. This is a bit large, but I intend to wear a sweatshirt or sweater under it. The sleeves are a bit long, but they Velcro tighter. The waist hangs over my butt, but I think this will work great when snow blowing.

I'm 5'9" with a 42 chest size and the medium was too tight through the chest with just a shirt on underneath. The length was right everywhere else, but I wouldn't be able to wear a sweater under this. It's a nice looking jacket but it is a true medium.

Nice jacket. Good quality and plenty of pockets for ski gear. I like the heat shield to stay warm without any bulk. Light weight and warm. Plenty of room to add layers. Good fit for me.

I have a hard time finding jackets that fit well and Columbia is one of the few that does. I normally wear Large/X-Large and the this large gives me the extra room in the chest which I need but not too baggy in the mid section. Definitely runs a little larger that most other winter jacket brands so make sure you are aware of that when buying.

I am 6'1", 240 lbs. I typically wear an extra large tall. I originally ordered the XL-Tall in this jacket and it was too long. I subsequently ordered the XL. The XL fits perfectly. It is warm enough - I have skied in it twice. Day one was 20 degrees and simply had a single long sleeve shirt underneath. Today was 13 degrees at the beginning of the day. I double layered and was quite warm. There were brisk winds at the top of the lift and the jacket cut them completely. It was raining when I drove down the hill and the jacket kept me dry. I am very happy with the features - pockets are very nice and convenient. I do think it would benefit from a vent for the Spring but at the price I can't quibble.

My 16 year old is 6'1, skinny, lanky and normally wears Large. We ordered a Medium based off of other reviews. I was worried at first when the bag came in and felt as thick as a folded hoodie but to our pleasant surprise it is thin/thick/warm enough for Michigan winters. It even had enough room for him to wear a hoodie too.

First off, I don't ski but I love this jacket. I'm 5'11, 190lbs and the Large fits me well. I probably could have gotten away with a medium but the Large gives me enough room to add some layers if needed. This jacket is very warm, wind and waterproof and it looks great

This ski jacket is awesome! The reflective heat works perfectly. I almost bought a similar jacket from a competitor for triple the cost. So glad I got this.

I'm 5.6 and fits well, bit loose but comfortable. Bought a size M. Normally I wear 32 jeans on my hips for you to have a reference of the sizing. Haven't tried on snow or cold weather yet but so far it feels warm and nice.

I can't tell you how much I love this jacket. I've been wearing vintage winter coats for a while. But I noticed they were starting to come apart at the seams and the linings were torn. I bought a Columbia coat for my son 5 years ago and he is still wearing it. As I shopped through the selections, I noticed the features of the Alpine Action like the snow skirt and the inner sleeves. It keeps me warm in the cold, blocks out the freezing winds, keeps me dry, and is so much lighter than my vintage coats. A winner on every point. Buy this jacket now.

I love my coat i was big on north face but columbia is just as warm and cheaper
