I bought this and the Norwester II coat because I needed a nice winter coat for some travels to colder climates. The alpine action coat is top of the line when it comes to waterproof and heat retaining technology. I felt like I was wearing an oven when I put it on. If I needed a more heavy duty jacket, I would definitely stick with this. I returned it because it was a little bulkier and longer than what I was looking for. It runs slightly long on the arms but as far as functionality, I highly recommend this jacket.

My first one (2 years old) was stolen, but I loved it so much (and the quality was so good) that I had to get a 2nd. The new one does not disappoint. In fact, they've made some improvements including a inside phone pocket area and a fleece collar. The jacket also seems warmer than my previous one.

Great jacket, fits as it should, Omni heat works great, very warm without being heavy and bulky. I like not needing a liner in the jacket to stay warm & love that I can pull it on over a sweat shirt with out the sleeves bunching up.

Replaced a 15 year old down jacket with this one. Just made it through the polar vortex in Minnesota with no problem. Keeps you warm.

This is amazing and I feel warm even at -20 c.. initially I was in two minds but after purchasing it I felt it's worth every penny spent..

This jacket is very well made and comfortable. Fits true to size. Kept me warm and dry during visit to the Smokies in the winter.

I bought this jacket for my husband and so far it is the best. The Omni Heat thermal lining works well and keeps him warm without being too heavy. Very comfortable and rain proof! A great jacket so far.

I got this for my husband who was in need of an updated jacket. He's worn it everyday since. On especially colder days that we've had here in MA, he's worn a fleece under and says that it's worked great. The heat technology is great! The color is perfect. Very happy with purchase.

The fit is true-to-size, the pockets are plentiful, the warmth factor passed the test with record low temps this week, and the quality is what you would expect with any Land End product. I'm glad I made this purchase!

Used jacket for the first time last Wednesday out training dogs Conditions were cold and windy, jacket performed great. Very pleased

So I got the Peatmoss color instead...The second I tried it on I could feel the cold being negated from me. I wear it almost non-stop it's like a bed for you upper body minus the pillow aspect lol..The color definitely stands out! People are amazed at how great it looks!!

The jacket is very warm. I ski a lot and would highly recommend it.

Jacket is light weight;but very warm. I received it 6 days before temperatures dropped to minus 20 degree It blocks out the wind and is waterproof. Perfect for snow blowing and running errands.

This jacket looks very nice. It's well made and warm enough for snow sports in the cold winter.

Nice looking jacket, have gotten. Multiple compliments. Nice and thin which makes it very comfortable to wear and easy to layer with a sweater or sweatshirt on colder days. Warm enough to wear with a long sleeve shirt on most other days.

Morning As a Maine native of 70 years , l have to tell you , you folks make great products. There's a certain retailer in my state that gets a lot of recognition nation wide. Purchased an adult size medium for my son. The jacket kept him warm, but not stuffy. It was comfortable and easy to move around in. Great value for the price.

I live in the Windy City we're temperature's drop below zero. This jacket besides fitting great it keeps the wind off of me keeps the heat in inside the jacket. Where has this jacket been all my life. I love this jacket. Overall this is the best jacket ever . I would recommend this jacket to everyone!!

Best cold weather jacket I've ever purchased. Love the omni heat feature allowing warmth from your own body to help keep you warm without bulky insulation thus allowing a thinner profile. I've worn it several times now in temps of 20's, 30's, & 40's. Kept me comfortably warm in the 20's and not to hot and no sweating in the 40's. It does run large. I'm 6' 2" 175 lbs, and the medium fits perfect-even the sleeve length with a little room underneath for another layer if needed. Thanks for a great product Columbia!

Ordered this in a xlarge for my husband. It fit perfectly with plenty of room for layering. Loved this coat on him!

The Alpine Action jacket is one of the best jackets that I have ever owned. I live in Michigan, winters can be brutal. The Alpine Action jacket keeps me comfortably warm even when is 10 degrees below zero. It is very lightweight, waterproof, windproof, and fits perfect. I highly recommend this jacket. I love this jacket. I'm 6'-1", 175 lbs, and the medium fits perfect. I got to try it out with the most recent snow storm. I wore it with a hoodie underneath, and went out to move the snow for 2.5 hours in 18 degree weather with 20 mile per hour winds. I never felt the wind, and only my toes got cold. Then I brought my kids out for another hour. Stayed warm the entire time. Great jacked.
