Verified PurchaseReview for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
I bought this wallet since I will be traveling alot and I wanted more security for my wallet and cards. The wallet is very stuff and provides many slots to hold all you cards and what not. So far I've had it for a few weeks and its held up well. Would I recommend this? Yes, yes I would. It should hold up better then most leather wallet cause the material seems well put together. So take a chance and check this one out.

I have had my wallet for about little over 30 years. It has literally been around the world with me. Sure over time the velcro doesn't work and the zippers get broken, and it looks like its been thru the ringer a few times. My wife has tried to entice me to get a new one. but nothing comes close to the feel and functionality of this wallet. it will be the best money you have ever spent.

No other wallet can compare to the build quality, warranty, durability and PRICE. After more than 20 years still going strong, with only the velcro wearing out. Repair was prompt and no questions asked.

When I finished elementary school in 97, I was flush with graduation cash and needed a new wallet. I happened to end up in an REI, and picked up an EC tri-fold. When it disappeared in a drunken haze one night in South Korea, I was far more upset about losing the wallet than I was about any of the things (ATM and credit cards, a fair amount of cash, etc). Unable to find an actual Eagle Creek in Korea, I picked up a competitors model. What a disappointment. The Transfer Tri-Fold Wallet still remains one of the best pieces of gear I've ever bought, and survived the rigors of world travel better than just about anything.

I bought this wallet many years ago and it has been virtually indestructible. Now, many years later, a zipper finally came off and I am sending the wallet back for repair/replacement under the company's lifetime warranty. Can't beat a deal like that.

I really like this wallet but it would benefit from having a closure device such as a snap or velcro. Once the wallet is full of cards, it falls open very easily. Also, It seems it should have an end flap or something so the cards held inside are fully protected from scanners. As it is, the wallet is completely open on one end and might allow for possible scanning. I have NOT tested this, it's just a thought. I think it's slightly smallish because it is basically just the size of credit cards exactly. It does hold currency and cards well but if you carry anything else, like proof of auto insurance forms, it may not fit without folding. I had my last Eagle Creek wallet for well over twenty years and so far, this one looks to be a keeper as well.

We bought this in error. This does not have a small zip for change and we needed the basic tri fold wallet.

I still have an Eagle Creek tri-fold (green) that I bought around 2003 or so. It's tough, roomy, zippered compartments...I should have picked up 4 of them. I'd gladly pay $100 to get another one of those because frankly what Eagle Creek is producing today doesn't even hold a candle to the older stuff. 2 years ago I bought what was the closest thing and was very disappointed. Not even close...

Very minimal, which can be good. Openings for cards are too small to use protective plastic for cards either singularly or as a group.Disappointed in that feature although nice to have small footprint. All of this just to protect ourselves from a bunch of hacking thieves. Might as well make it bullet proof as well.

This is my second Eagle Creek tri-fold wallet. I think the previous one had the hook and loop, or Velcro parts reversed, as I don't remember that one sticking inside my pocket like this one does. I think they should put the hook part on the inside, and the loop or fuzzy pary on the outside, as it is partially exposed when the wallet is full and the hooks stick to the fabric on the inside of my pants pockets.

OK for just cash and credit cards though when I received it I realized it was too small to fit my passport which I wanted it for as well.

Loved my first one that I bought 3 years ago and when it wore out I purchased another. To my disappointment, this version was "improved" so that it is a pain to use. The stitches on the inside pocket leave a lip that makes it a pain to remove credit cards. They catch every time. Also, why did you replace the clear window for a drivers License with a nearly opaque one? What's the point of have a window when you have to remove the card every time someone asks for it?

I agree with "no wallet Dave". I wanted to replace my 15 year old plus Eagle Creek wallet with the same one. The new design isn't even close to the old style. Hey Eagle Creek, if you are listening, return to the old design tri-fold with the zippered hidden bill pocket. I decided to keep using my old one.

I've been carrying Eagle Creek wallets for 15 years or more I'd guess. Nice wallets but once the one you're using needs to be replaced you can NEVER FIND THE SAME ONE AGAIN.
Really frustrating. You have to take what you can get if you can find anything close to what you need and adapt it. This is OK when it works, but very NOT OK when it doesn't.
I find this scenario way too often with most companies in general and their products. Anything wrong with keeping and continuing with a good design and not screwing it up into something that barely works anymore???
