My trusty Chucks recently wore out, and now that I'm solidly in my thirties, I: A) Didn't want to be the creepy almost-middle aged guy in Converse B) Wanted a comfortable sneaker, but still looked good. I've came across the Gola Comets, and based on my previous experience with the brand, thought I'd give them a shot. Two weeks in and I'm really happy with them. I wanted a basic canvas sneaker that fit well, and these have delivered. I was a little concerned they'd be a little tight, but are exactly true to size. If you're also looking for a basic canvas sneaker with an old school flare (and an alternative to Chuck Taylors), you really can't go wrong.

Nice looking shoe, but the sole did start to pull away from the upper portion of the shoe within a month of purchase. For that reason, I would not recommend it.

I like these sneakers, but about a month after having them, the glue started coming apart on the rubber around the sole. A little bit after that, the glue is coming undone in a couple more places. I've fixed the bottom with Gorilla Glue. I shouldn't have to be repairing sneakers I buy so shortly after buying them though. I'm also a little disappointed with how some of the threading is pulling off of the logo design on the sides. The sneakers are super comfortable. If it weren't for the flaws with the stitches and the separation, I'd be thrilled with these kicks.

I have tried the size 10 which is a little big and then the 9 feels too small. The difference between a 9 and 10 seems more than I would expect. I wish they sold a 9 1/2.

Easy and stylish. I wanted a colorful shoe for summer, and this was perfect. Went traveling all over Europe for my honeymoon and they held up great. Dries easily after washing or getting wet too. Loose and easy fit doesn't provide much support but is roomy and comfortable. The canvas top is thin, so don't expect much warmth, but makes a great summer shoe.

I bought these in April. It's now the end of the July and they're totally worn out. On the inside all the lining has sloughed off the heel and now it's just some squeeky plastic. The sole is worn totally through at the heel and in the front the tread has worn down flat. They're not even my primary everyday shoe. I knew they were cheap shoes and didn't expect much. But I did expect to get more than 4 months of part-time wear out of them.

Love the shoes but get a size or 1.5 sizes larger than what you normally wear. I usually wear an 11.5 and tried the 12s but they were borderline painful to walk in. 13s are a smidge loose but are very comfortable to walk in.

As a Tiger Onitsuka fan I was looking to switch it up a bit but still get the bold color option and low profile. The color is great (not too yellow) but the soles are a bit thicker than I typically prefer.

I wear 9:5 size dress shoes but 10 sneakers and these are a perfect fit. Low profile that look good in jeans or shirts. Got several compliments from the ladies on these

These kicks are stylish and go well with a casual or smart casual look. They are white, so you'll need to keep on top of keeping them looking sharp. Definitely not rainy weather shoes.

Very cool and stylish shoes. Took these to Italy with me over the summer and didn't wear anything else. Was very comfortable walking 8 miles a day on average, though not as comfy as sneakers if you need a lot of arch support. Will be back to this brand.

LOVE these shoes! Just purchased a second pair for my husband. They're fun, trendy, comfortable, and he gets compliments on them whenever he wears them. He typically wears 11.5, so the 12 works for him. Only request is for Gola, to bring back Ash/Navy color combo. When I went to order the 12 (I originally bought the 11), the Ash/Navy combo was removed from the site. And I can't find them anywhere.

I bought these for my husband 2 years ago (grey/ash) and he loves them so much, I am ordering a new pair for his birthday. He gets a TON of compliments on them. He is not a fancy dresser, but these shoes add a low key, hip vibe for a guy in his early 40’s without trying to look too young! I am ordering the navy this time.

Love these shoes! At only $50 (and free shipping) they're a great deal. Great fit and awesome styling. The white stripes and the sole got dirty fairly quickly, but that just adds "character". They're constructed similar to Converse Chucks Taylors.

I wear a size 12, I should have bought a 12.5 or even a 13. These shoes run small..

After a day, the sole was worn out and uncomfortable. No support.

The toe of the shoe got narrow too fast around my big toe. Loved the color and style. I don’t think a size change would help, I think my feet are just not shaped right for this shoe. I have a typical wide foot.

My husband loves these Gola shoes. He does go up a half a size, but he also wears Super Feet in his shoes for arch support, so I'm not sure if that makes a difference (he wears a half size smaller in different brands even with the Super Feet). He said there's a period of break-in, but that they are extremely comfortable. We've gotten them for him in several different color combinations and would get more if they were available in his size.
