I'm looking for the perfect pair of shoes to meet several qualifications: comfort and support for my high arch feet, cushiony for lots of walking on my upcoming trip to Italy, sturdy enough to do some light hiking, and cute enough to wear with dresses and to work. Since early July I have ordered and returned 12 pairs of shoes. I have tried on at least 40 shoes at stores in my area. I have read hundreds of reviews. And now maybe, just maybe lucky number 13th ordered shoe will fit the bill. Not quite perfect but better than all the rest. These Eccos are cute and not too clunky looking - fairly streamlined when viewing from above. They are comfy but could use more cushioning. The arch is what I would consider in between moderate and excellent - not as good as my Danskos. The shoe fits close to my foot but isn't too snug. (I don't like this trend in "relaxed fit" shoes where your feet just slide around.) The treads on the shoe look like they will handle rocky trails just fine and the green edge color makes them look just a bit different and not like thick black soles. I'm going to try a cushiony insert and if that helps, these Eccos will be making the trip to Italy in September! Thanks Zappos! You are wonderful!

I bought this to wear as a casual shoe with or without socks. Took it on a recent trip to Chicago and was able to walk in it right out of the box. Very comfortable.

I find these shoes very comfortable and supportive. I sometimes spend most of the day with them on and my feet do not get tired and my arches are very well supported. I am a Senior Citizen so the support is important to me.

When you have size 10½/11 N/S feet, it is nearly impossible to find cute shoes that stay on those feet. With the right style, as with a Mary Jane strap, I appreciate Ecco shoes - and they do not slip off!

These shoes seems to fit true to size. They are roomy in the toe area, which is one of the main reasons I bought them b/c my toes were squished in other shoes. Very comfortable, I don't even need my orthotic in them. Just wish the sole was black.

I wear a 10 aaaaa shoe and have a terrible time finding comfortable shoes, really any shoe, my size. I was given a pair of Ecco Mary Jane shoes the Velcro strap holds my foot snug with wearing socks. They are the Most Comfortable shoes I have ever owned. I wish they'd make a slim.

Absolutely love these shoes! In need of a good walking shoe, I recently purchased them for a trip overseas. They are the most comfortable walking shoes I have ever owned!

I have tried many different versions of the comfort MJ/flat, searching for something that has a little more style than a tennis shoe, but is truly comfortable. This Ecco Sport Biom MaryJane is the one that I kept. It is very light, has excellent cushion and support without having painful over-arch support. The toebox is comfortable width (my toes are jammed in most shoes), there was no rubbing anywhere, which is completely unheard of in my shoe universe. So 5 Stars for comfort!! But it's still clunkier than I would like, and the grey rubber sole/bottom, although it's a classy grey rubber, it's still showing as a rubber, like a tennis shoe. So in the end, the style was not exactly what I was looking for, it's still too sports-like. The Merrell Dassie MJ has a better look, more "elegant" and sleek, but it rubbed on the top sides and I am done buying "comfort shoes" that don't start as 100% comfortable on Day One! So Ecco Sport Biom MJ wins this round.

These shoes were comfortable even the first time I wore them to hike through O'Hare Airport, then on a long flight, and on several long walks with family in CA. I bought them to replace the Merrell True Glove Mary Jane shoes that aren't available any more. The Ecco shoes have more structure than I really wanted, but they are very comfortable. A style hint to Ecco: It would be nice if the sole and top stitching were black to match the rest of the shoe. I expect this pair to last well for a very long time as they are very soundly made.

Excellent shoe, only problem is my foot has grown and I am between sizes. I am going to try the next half size smaller. GREAT arch support.

I bought this shoe in grey and have worn it all summer. I did have to put a gel heel insert in it to raise my heel enough so it would not rub on the back of the shoe, but that was an easy fix. I live in a very hot climate, and did not wear socks, so my feet got a bit "sweaty" but it wasn't a huge problem. I wear these shoes nearly every day because they are so comfortable, and I can even do a long walk in them. I am ordering a black pair for an autumn trip to Israel and the UK. The style works with pants and skirts and does not look 'too cutesy." I love this shoe.

I purchased these shoes a few months ago. I put them on, never wanted to take them off! I was having foot issues and found these shoes were what I needed to address my problems. Great support, very comfortable. I am buying another pair to bring in our upcoming trip.

I pronate on my left foot, and supinate on my right (like I'm falling in the wind). These shoes, even with orthodics, aren't strong enough to support me. So cute, but not for these feet. :(

These run huge. I am normally a size 5 but I wear custom orthotics, so I can sometimes go up to a 5½. I ordered these in a 35 and they were still big, even with the orthotics. I also was not crazy about the style. Last year's version of these looked a little sportier. These just looked a little plain and conservative. That is not what I wanted for this price. Though they did work really well with the orthotics and were fairly comfortable, so if you can order down small enough they might be worth a try. I am not keeping these.

This feels like it would be the perfect shoe for me but I really don't understand the sizing - it's worse than the Crocs whole size only. As a 6.5, I'm afraid I'm out of luck. They're going back from whence they came.

These ECCO shoes are very oversized. I normally wear a 40 in all European sizes and these are huge. I am returning them. Quality is OK for the price but not much support - a very flat shoe.

This shoe runs large in length and width. I think ordering the next size down it might be too small in length. It doesn't seem to have much arch support and it is a very flat feeling shoe.
