I want to love this bag. After reading a review from someone who uses it as a camera bag, I was sold. I love Filson products and thought this would fit in great with my collection. So I ordered the bag and loaded it with just my basic everyday stuff, no camera gear. I tried to carry it around cross body style and the leather cut into my shoulders. Also the access is difficult. Having to deal with the buckles each time I need something out of the bag is inconvenient. The location of the straps makes the bag lean awkwardly away from my body. It is a beautiful bag made of good material and nice leather. Unfortunately I am afraid it will end up not being used so I must return it and perhaps wait for another great Filson product.

I have not used this on a trip yet but I already love it! Love the space, the look and the ease of carrying!

I own the photographer's field bag in green. It is basically the same bag but in a much more distressed and casual material. It is my go to bag for throwing in the back of the truck. I wanted something with a bit more polish for other types of travel where I wish to take my camera. After reading another review I decided to try the medium field bag in black twill. It is a great looking bag. I prefer the strap on my other bag but that can easily be traded out. I tried some inserts from my camera bag and they work just great. Think perhaps I will give this one a go on my next trip. Every Filson product I have used has been great. They are pricey but they last.

This is the smallest of my two shoulder Filson bags. Intended as an everyday carry to hold a book/mag, ipad, wallet, phone, keys, etc. It does a fine job. I did insert a Billingham padded camera insert to carry my Canon 7d and two extra prime lenses. It allowed a convenient and quick access to my high end equipment without screaming "camera gear". The only strike against it is that the shoulder pad can slide off your shoulder so I carry it across the body.

I wondered if this bag would be too masculine for me but it was not. It was utilitarian and perfect for urban life. A laptop, iPad and all the accessories were able to fit in with no problem. I had wanted a more classic looking bag, but this is just a little smaller and beautiful. It feels expensive but was not. Filson guarantees that this will last a lifetime and I suspect it will get more beautiful as it ages.

I just love this bag. I bought it for my husband to carry all his electronics when he travels, but it wasn't big enough for laptop and camera and extra batteries and phones and chargers and plug-ins...he just had too much stuff. But it sure is perfect for me! So I gave him a larger bag and kept this for myself. It is seriously sturdy and well made. Looks like it will last for a long time.

I am a pretty girly woman in my 30s, and I love this bag. I bought it to use for work and plan to carry 1-2 books, a laptop or iPad, lunch, and a couple of small things in it. It does feel a bit heavy when full, which is why I deducted a star for comfort, but it's much more practical than most womens' purses the same size, and I think it's pretty stylish too!
