I so love these boots! I got the Vera Short in Dark Brown/Burnished Antiqued Leather. The color is amazing! They do run big. I am usually a 7 in boots so I ordered 7 but I could've gone with a 1/2 size smaller. Either way I can wear thicker socks no problem there. Boots are great quality. I can't say anything bad about them. Zappos rocks! As always excellent service.

Finally! My quest for the perfect boot is over! These boots are so comfortable (heel looks high but they're very easy to walk in), the leather is very soft (and the tops are not scratchy like the Engineer model as the leather on the Vera shaft is much softer), and the style is timeless. I bought them in black and will try to get another pair soon. I wear a 10 1/2 to 11 and bought the 11s and they fit great (plenty of room for light to medium-heavy sock). Also, I have relatively large calves but these fit very gracefully with a bit of room to spare. I'm just so happy with these boots and of course Zappos' legendary customer service! Thank you Frye and Zappos! I hope you never discontinue this style.

These are gorgeous boots! I run an 8 in everything...but for these I had to go down 1/2 size. they are a tiny bit narrow, too, but I thing they'd stretch to fit quite nicely.

I love them! The first time I wore these, I wore them for 8 hours and not a single complaint. No discomfort whatsoever! Sizing: I typically wear a size 7.5/8. I ordered these in an 7.5 and they fit great.

Amazing boot - exactly what I was looking for! One caveat - I purchased the grey vintage tumbled full grain - it is not grey, it's brown! As a matter of fact it is just a tad lighter than the dark brown full grain. That said, the boots are comfortable, fun, and I love them! I had my shoe repair guy punch another hole in the top buckle so I can tighten the top up. As for size, I'm normally between an 8.5 and a 9. I bought the 9, it's a bit big, but with a comfort insole and regular socks, it's dreamy! I'm thinking of buying in the black too!

I love these boots. Love them! I've been looking for years for the perfect casual boot for jeans and I found them with these! They're comfortable and they are versatile. I have them in the Tan Burnished Antiqued Leather and want to wear them all the time. I never say this about a boot...ever.

I've had these for over a month and just received an mail to do a review. Oddly enough they are on my feet. The size is perfect - I have a narrow foot so if you do have a wider foot I would up the size. Got 2 compliments today on them - it happens every time I wear them. And what can be better than Zappos! After reading all the reviews I was able to order one pair with no return. Love these boots and this site!

Love these boots! My first pair of Fryes, and I am not disappointed. I usually wear size 8.5 narrow, but the other reviews helped me decide to go for an 8. Perfect! The whole ordering process was flawless, and I love the next business day shipping. Thanks, Zappos.

These boots are so beautiful! The maple color is absolutely gorgeous and the heel is just high enough to not be too much. However, I did end up returning the boots because the heel split on me a bit. Of course Zappos was more than helpful with my return, but if the boots were still available I would probably have bought another pair! If you buy the boots and they seem a bit big, just tighten both straps and it fits wonderfully!

I usually order up a half a size when I purchase flats or boots (I'm a 7.5, so I order an 8), but these were huge! Order your true size! A lovely boot with a heel that makes it a little dressier. If you want a more rugged look, go with the Veronica Short.

These boots are really cute, very well made and comfortable. Also very classic styling, so I will have them for years to come. Comfortable heel height for stable, comfortable walking anywhere, but also gives a boost to my 5' tall frame! Frye boots are a bit pricey compared to similar products, but I find the quality to be excellent. Overall, very pleased with product.

I love this boot. Absolutely love it. It is incredibly comfortable with the cushioned sole. The color is much richer in person - more of a camel. You won't regret buying it. I did go down a half-size and can still wear them with thicker socks.

Gosh I love this boot and they just keep getting better. The leather is very soft, no breaking in time, but the shaft stays up. I can work 8 hrs standing up in them. And the red color and burnishing is absolutely gorgeous! Roomy fit, but still true to size.

These boots are great, super comfortable and a little height to make your legs look longer. The color is less ashy than the pictures appear, actually more golden tan. Love these boots!

Very cushy for a boot. True to size. The upper is very soft and nice for slipping on. The Veronica boots ran small, so I had to exchange those. I’m glad I got the Vera instead . . . even though there is a bit of a heel they are very comfy, and something about walking around with a heel makes you walk taller and feel classy :) The photo colors are very deceiving! This one is not a putty color as shown . . . it is light brown like it says in the description. I still like it though, and the weathered appearance.

Love these boots! I almost didn't buy them cause of the price but, at the end of the day, really wanted a classic, quality boot with a good heel for longer pants/jeans. Very comfortable and classy. So glad I took the plunge.

These are the most comfortable boots I have ever purchased. I take a 9.5 in Frye boots/shoes and they fit perfect. They felt a little narrow, but nothing noticeable or painful as long as I wore socks that aren't thick. I also have very weak ankles, and have issues with most shoes that have a little bit of a heelâ?¦with these I did not, even walking on the cobblestone streets of London. I'm ordering two more pairs in different colors.

I think I finally found my Frye boot. I had tried the Frye Phillips studded harness (short) and it was a bit too snug 'above the foot.' I had to down size in the Vera but it is a fairly comfortable boot - not perfect, but for the style, look and practicality I'm willing to accept less than perfect. It is a boot without a cowboy look but yet not at the other extreme either and neither too low or high in the heel. It is a boot likely to please most Frye seekers.

Love these boots! I took the advice offered by other reviewers and purchased them 1/2 size smaller...glad I did since they fit perfectly and I can see how they will stretch just a tad. I purchased the Burnt Red and have had them on every day since then. They are comfortable; nicely tanned and just enough heel for some sass. I have loved Frye since I was a teen, but they were not a feasible purchase then. Now as an adult I can appreciate their price point; you get the quality you pay for. Nicely tanned leather upper, well constructed heel, beautifully designed to last a lifetime. I can now afford many (?) pairs, since I know I will have them for quite a while! Zappos, as always, is an amazing company. I purchase all of my shoes from them, for both myself and my family. Thanks, Frye and Zappos!

I have had the Vera Short boots for about a week now. This is my 5th pair of Fryes. I bought the Gray Vintage color and ended up with a size 8.5 for my size 9 feet. The boots, miraculously, make my feet look small. The snub nose toe is different from my other boots and adds a stylish touch. The leather is unlike my other Fryes (Melissa Tall Lace, Phillip Harness, Carson oxfords and Campus boots) in that it is a little thinner on the shaft. I guess it's a little "slouchier" than I expected although I am not unhappy with it. The gray color is nice and goes with everything. I have worn these boots with skinny jeans and boot cut pants and they look great. I am still getting used to the heel. I generally like a low heeled boot but these are manageable, so far. The boot is quite comfortable after a brief break in period.

Boot perfection! I've been wanting these for the longest time, and finally bought them with Xmas bonus when Zappos had discount on the tumbled red (goddess bless Zappos). They are so perfectly comfortable and fabulous in every way. The toe is not as round and clunky as Engineer and higher heel too. More "elegant" so to speak but still kick-**s. Absolutely love them. Sometimes I try less expensive boot brands, hoping in vain that they will be as good as Frye, and I always end up sending them back. I've learned from this mistake, and now just save up to get Fryes. One pair is worth a dozen cheaper shoes/boots, and I'm going to save up to get these in black too. Only other comment, they are not as red as expected from pictures. But that is just fine.

These boots are great! They were instantly comfortable and I'm able to wear these boots all day long. The color is gorgeous and these were well worth the money because I'll be in them for years!

Hello perfect bridge-gapping boot! I searched and searched for a very specific set of qualities in a black boot -- not too 'biker' (I already own those), not too dressy (checked that box already, too). Not too high (I wanted to be able to wear it under straight-leg jeans), not a bootie (I just can't bring myself to go there). I need a bit of a heel, but it's hard to find one that doesn't shove a boot into either cowgirl or night-on-the-town-land. This boot is the answer. Perfect. Thank you Frye and thank you Zappos.

Super sexy boots! I love these. My new favs. Got the Maple Calf shine vintage. Great rich brown. The footbed is cushy and wonderful. They fit perfectly, they look amazing...don't know what other wonderful things to say about these boots, except I want to wear 'em to bed! Nothin' bad to say about 'em. Enjoy 'em. Love 'em.
