These fit me quite well, and are comfortable all day (albeit for my desk job). I generally have good luck with Johnston & Murphy, Allen Edmonds (E width) and To Boot New York. I picked wide for these. I think I will not like the Monk strap; however, since it's hard to buckle and unbuckle. Thankfully I only have to buckle one on each shoe, and I am hopeful it will get easier as the shoes break in. I'll need to be a bit careful as the leather shows scratches easily.

I find that this brand runs long and a bit narrow. I ordered a half size smaller and could have gone down a full size. I ordered a wide size and that fit just fine. The brandy color is lighter than the photo shown online and it seems to lighten after only a few wearings. I wish the color was a bit darker. I have always found this brand extraordinarily comfortable from the first wearing because of a kind of light padding in the inner sole which i have found in no other shoe. The shoe has a thin but pure leather sole which breaks in easily and contributes to the overall comfort of the shoe, although I think it will not be as durable as a good year welted shoe, but at this price point and comfort level I can afford to buy two or three of these for the price of an upscale shoe with almost no break-in, great comfort and trendy looks.

Still breaking them in, but even if they don't loosen at all, they are good.

Overall it is a very stylish shoe. The width of the show was little narrow for my comfort. I would have probably kept them. However, I had an experience with a Massimo Matteo boot recently in rainy London. The boot, as well as this shoe have a glued sole, which makes for a very low profile between the sole and the upper. Stylish, but as I found out a little impractical. When walking in an unexpected rain storm, the shoe began to wick water which caused discoloration in the upper. For that reason I decided against keeping this shoe and decided to keep another shoe I ordered at the same time that has Blake sole construction. Hoping the additional expense for a better constructed shoe will result in longer wear life.

This is my first pair of Massimo Mateo shoes and I love them. I usually go for Johnston and Murphy but it is so hard to find leather soles. I think in have found a new favorite brand. They fit tight, but not uncomfortably tight. They are more narrow than I am used to but they broke in easily. I was unsure at first of the color, being that it was so light. However after putting some kiwi shoe polish (Tan) they darkened right up and have turned out beautiful.

Great classy look, sleek and not stodgy/clunky. Soles are thin which complements the lines, but you feel more through them. A year in and they are doing well. A little tight, especially in the heel so go maybe a half size bigger. Hell, it's zappos, so get a couple and return what doesn't fit, for free.

Attractive rich looking shoe. Fit was spot on. They scuff very easily ands they are lighter than the picture. Keep this in mind. Buy some shoe conditioner and neutral polish to get rid of the scuffs.

Great shoe. Slippery as heck, so you will want to scuff up the bottom right away. Feel great. Stylish. Comfortable.

This shoe runs narrow. The wide was just right for my normal medium size foot; however, I had to return the shoe because it was darker than pictured.

The shoes arrived in a timely manner. They are super stylish. Can pair with a suit or jeans. Will probably take a little time to break in but these felt much more comfortable than the Aldo double monk straps. The color is also a little lighter than the image. I think with polishing, it will become darker... My pair arrived with some wear showing on the right shoe but Zappos took care of the issue brilliantly. (Thanks Zappos!)

Nice shoes, about 1/2 a size long... Unfortunately the tongue was a little long and cut into the top of my ankle. So will be returning them and will try to find another pair of Monks.

These are great shoes that are very comfortable. I have narrow feet and they fit just right. The sole looks sleek and is leather but it is very thin. I am concerned about how long they will last me.

The shoes are very stylish but stiff and run a bit narrow. After a solid month of use they finally fit well, but they will need re-soling soon.

I purchased these beautiful shoes, and delivery was very quick. Took a look after unboxing them, and they were exactly as advertised, exactly what I was looking for. I typically take a size 13, sometimes a 14, but other reviewers said that they run almost a full size large, so I ordered 13. I couldn’t even get the shoe on my foot! I would not knock the quality of them, at all. Just don’t necessarily believe the reviews that say they run very large. That’s the only problem with online, is that we can’t try things on first, but thankfully, there is some comfort in knowing that Zappos offers free returns.

This shoe feels WAY smaller than its labeled size. There's also the issue of the buckle closure that is too time consuming. Not a fan - these go back.

The shoe in the picture is not what you get in the box. The quality of the leather, if you can even really call it that, is very poor quality. The color of the shoe looks like some kind of hotel room beige and not the nice aged brandy that is portrayed in the picture. Almost looks painted on because it looks like they didn't lift up the buckle or it rubbed off underneath it. Overall, pretty disappointed in the quality of the shoe for the cost and will be returning it.

There was an imperfection in the leather and I had other concerns about the build quality. This model didn't seem to be as nice as other Massimo shoes I've tried on.

A bit tight

I ordered the "Brandy" version for a wedding I was attending. The shoe fit and comfort were great, however as other reviews have stated, the color was nowhere near what is shown in the example photos. It was obvious that the shoes were treated with some kind spray that made the shoe have an unappealing solid light muddy brown look. It was strange design decision to me, as the color/patina of the leather on the inside of the heel and under the strap of the shoe had the "as advertised" look that i wanted, where whatever treatment they used on the outer-most portion of the shoe wasn't applied. Also, the buckles themselves were a disappointment. They're plastic with a painted finish, which I noticed as some of the finish was chipped on the corners. They method in which the buckles are fastened to the shoe was also an issue, as the stitching on the elastic of one of the buckles broke immediately upon trying on the shoes for the first time. I would be surprised if those didn't become an issue at some point with whoever wears these in the long term. Overall the Brandy version was a disappointment. I'm sure the black ones would look and feel great, but I'd be cautious about the buckles. Luckily Zappos' return process is painless.

I had to return these. I'm usually a size 12, but these felt too big and my heel was popping out the back. Not to mention the color... the color is much lighter than the pictures and looks more yellow. It's not quite brown, not quite tan...it's just a weird color that doesn't appeal to me at all. I was hoping for a nice rich cognac color that would match with my belt and watch band. Also, the soles are VERY slippery. All and all, they're nicely made shoes, but the color was way off the mark.

I love the shoe. The style and color are extraordinary. The only thing is that they scuff extremely easily! That is even with proper shoe care. Any slight bump will leave a mark that cannot be removed. Because of that I'm giving it a two star rating.
