Beautiful well made boots. I generally take a size 6 in athletic shoes but sometimes a 5.5 works better. This is one of those instances. Zappos recommended a size 6 but I had already tried that size locally and knew it was too long. The size 5.5 is perfect and not too narrow which was a concern as the ball of my foot is wider and many reviews talked about this boot being narrow. The zip around the ankles is pretty tight but that doesn’t bother me. If you wanted to save some money you could get the kids version in a size 3 and replace the insoles with something thinner. The quality isn’t as good and it is looser on the ankle which I didn’t like but others may prefer.

Bought them for my kiddo after the size 6 was way too tight. He wears a size 5.5 sneaker.

These boots are the best shoes I've worn in years. I travel a lot and walk many miles in airports. I now travel exclusively in these boots and sometimes can get away with visiting customer sites in slacks/blouse and these boots. They have a dull finish which is sad but otherwise I live in these. I've had to buy a second pair since I also work on the farm with them and they get really dirty. They clean up fine but not enough to use the same pair for the office and farm. I wanted to higher shine so tried the Kendron Pro Paddock boot. I returned them because they were too tight at the ankle. These Scout boots are a perfect ankle fit. Would highly recommend.

I love these boots! Very comfortable, warm, non-slip, and they look dressy enough to wear with slacks. These are my go-to boot. They are holding up very well, even though I wear them often.

Straight out of the box, I wore these to work the next day... and while, of course, they started off a bit stiff in trying to bend my foot, after a few flights of stairs they managed to begin to break in. Usually I don’t wear boots “ALL” day, but this day I did, and thankfully, Ariat did not disappoint. I truly enjoy them quite a bit, and look forward to future purchases from them as well.

Excellent boot. Seemed from reviews to run a bit large so I ordered a 6 (usually around 6.5) and they fit perfectly. Great for walking and standing. High on style and arch support :-)

These are super boots. Our older daughter has passed them down to our younger one then onto a friend! They clean up well and maintain their shape.

For the last four years, I've purchased boots for my daughter (now 14) from man-made material. I didn't want to spend a lot while her feet were growing so rapidly. However, when she outgrew her last pair, I decided to splurge hoping that her feet have slowed down in the growth department. We were not disappointed! They fit perfectly from the first wear. No break-in time necessary. She loves that they zip up so that she doesn't have to spend the time with fussy laces. I love that I don't have to return them. My daughter is one picky kid. The fact that the first pair I tried this go round were a success was quite a blessing. If you are considering these, go for it. They are worth the $$ spent.

Perfect. Purchased for my 10 almost 11 year old daughter who rides English style. The for is perfect, quality excellent. As Zappos is great!

Ariats are great! I have worn them for many years. I keep two pairs of these paddock boots, rotating the newer pair from street wear to work wear once the older pair wears out. The leather on the new ones looks dull, but will shine up with good polish. They are comfortable for all day use, every day.

Love these paddock boots. I use them with half chaps for riding and was able to ride in them right out of the box without any break in time. They feel durable. The zipper is high quality (metal) and the tongue is attached inside the boot, unlike many lower-priced paddock boots I have seen. The elastic on the sides ensures a good fit around the ankle. They are very easy to clean. I should note that my Ariat western boots are a generously roomy 9, where in these I had to go to the 9.5.

Comfortable from the start. Stretched out a bit and is a little sloppy on the heel without wearing half chaps. (I typically have problems with heels being too wide, but narrow sized shoes being too narrow for my toes).
