Used this backpack for work when nicer looking handbags wouldn't hold my daily carry. In this bag, I often carried a laptop, paperback book, notebook, wallet, and some other smaller things in the front sipper pocket. This bag is way lighter than other backpacks, a major reason why it won me over. The straps can be uncomfortable if you carry for long periods of time, but I used for several outdoor hikes as well with minimal discomfort. This color also showed less dirt than other colors available.

This is a great, stylish and durable backpack so different than your typical one (in a good way). Looks small but it packs tons of stuff. Fits all school work and then some. Great alternative to the boring old backpack! So good we have 3 :)

The perfect backpack to travel, tour, or commute with. It's a great size for a 13" laptop, and there's plenty of space for everything else. The quality is durable, and fabric is water-resistant. I love this backpack and use it daily to/from work. The 2 side pockets for a water bottle and an umbrella is a great plus. The color choices are excellent, and I highly recommend this to anyone who needs a standard backpack for casual daily wear. I would not recommend this for extensive backpacking trips or for people who often carries heavy items since the straps are not padded, and there is no padding in the back.

I bought this backpack this past summer and it's been going strong ever since! The fabric was a bit stiff at first, but it has softened over time. I really love the look of this bag. It's not a big bulky, overwhelming backpack. The size is just right for carrying daily essentials and a little extra. I use mine as a purse/EDC. I also love the ability to carry it 3 different ways: backpack style, shoulder bag style, or briefcase style. The fabric has held up pretty well. It does accumulate white streaks easily. Most of the time I can remove them with a damp microfiber cloth. My son has the "Big" Kanken for middle school. He's pretty rough with backpacks, throwing them on the floor at school, home and the school bus. His bag is still in great shape, but it also accumulates those white streaks. I haven't tried hand washing either bag just yet. That may resolve the streaking issue. These bags are well made, durable, comfortable, and stylish. We need more in other colors! Well worth the price! Would highly recommend! Love, love, love Zappos! My favorite place to shop!

I wouldn't use this bag for long hikes or mountain biking however it's a great option for a night out if you do not want to hold a purse! Or just a chick walk to the mall. Very stylish for sure and works with higher end apparel vs looking like you are going camping or off to college. Great option. I have two.

I love this backpack. I used to carry messenger bags, etc. all the time but use a backpack now because I have to occasionally use a cane. My fold up cane fit perfectly in a side pocket so that is always available. I have a notebook, several small organizing bags, an iPad Pro, and a nylon shopping bag in this and it has plenty of room. I throw my lunch and water bottle in and am ready for work each day. I am 5'2 and it is not too big for me which is usually a problem. When it isn't packed for work it is still a good size to run errands, etc. with. I can see myself getting other colors in this. Best of all, it came the day after I ordered it!

We love this bag! My 4 year old, almost 5, uses it for school and trips. It holds a lot and great style for Mom (me) when it gets heavy for her. It is easy to find things in the bag. The purple is a great color for a kid. The light lavender straps look nice but as I expected they show dirt very quickly. For this reason, I would only buy a darker color, the next time I purchase this style.The bag at first is stiff, but the material softens up quickly. It is a good classic style, overall.

Bought this bag for everyday/going out use. Super duper cute and stylish. I got so many compliments from this bag. May seem like a small bag, but definitely fits my essentials. I ordered the Navy one color is true to picture. Shipping was also very quick, I ordered on a Thursday morning and received by Friday afternoon! I chose 2 day shipping at checkout

Such a cute backpack, that can carry a surprising amount. Went away for a night and managed to fit everything I'd need (with room to spare). Super lightweight and even when full it doesn't feel heavy or weigh on my shoulders. Highly recommend!

Backpack after backpack after backpack and this one was finally the winner! I've spent $100's on them and have never been so satisfied as I have than with this one. Bought for my middle schooler who puts it to the test daily and it never lets her down! Stylish, looks compact but holds its own! I was surprised at the amount of material this backpack held. She got rid of a bulky outdated hiking looking dud to this stylish mother approved pack! 5 STARS!

I bought this backpack for a trip to Europe. I wanted an updated version vs. my old Gap backpack that served me well for many years. Love this backpack. It has plenty of room for everything I needed for my day trips. It is so light that all the weight you carry is in the things you pack. I love that is has a cushion pad for my laptop (will accommodate a small laptop only)that can be removed when not needed. It comes in so many colors that you are sure to find one to your liking. It would also be a great school book bag for kids 10 yrs plus. I highly recommend for light day trips and travel.

I wanted a backpack just the right size for work that I could fit all my things and fit into my locker which I share with another person. This backpack is perfect! I put a pair of shoes, a makeup bag and a few other small items and they all fit nicely. This bag is pretty minimalistic in that it does not have a lot of little compartments like other book bags. So if you are looking for that this is probably not the right bag for you. It has two sections in the main compartment. It does have a small zipper pocket in the front and a pocket on the side. The colors seem true to the pictures. I ordered the deep red.

Love this backpack! I live in NYC so I carry a lot and it fits it all. 13' MacBook, umbrella, shoes, lunch, wallet, sun/eyeglass cases, etc. I got the plum color and it's definitely more on the pink side than purple but I'm okay with that. My only issue is deciding which color to get next!!

We love this bag. The purple color is the perfect purple for a 4.5 year old. The bag is big for her and expensive for a 4.5 year old, but when she is in school she is asked to put her coat in her bag. It fits along with all the other stuff too. The bag fits high up on her back which I think is better for a small persons back. I especially like the tote handles. When I carry her bag for her, it is still stylish for me. The material softens with use and the zippers are not so stiff anymore, again with use. When the straps are adjusted to their smallest, they snap down and don't dangle. When the straps need to be lengthened, they ends don't snap down and they dangle. This bugs me about the design.

I purchased the Salvia Green Kanken and I just love it! Be aware before purchase that the color varies in person compared to the professional photos. I'm super glad with the color I chose and relieved that it's an AUTHENTIC Kankken backpack. Zappos had really fast reliable shipping, so i can confidently recommend buying kankens from this site! One con that people seem to be aware off is the fact that the straps are so durable I'm afraid that wearing this in the hot summer while sweating isn't the greatest idea. Luckily, I purchased these now (October) so I wont have to worry about anything until it gets hot in NYC again. OVER ALL, authentic kankens, nice quality, stylish, and there are so many colors to choose from in Zappos! :)

This backpack is perfect for my needs. I didn't need a ginormous backpack, just something to hold my stuff when I take and pick up my grandkids from school. (Hands-free is key.) I use the front small zippered section for my car keys. There's even a padded section inside for my iPad. And I like the double zipper for quick and easy unzipping of the main compartment. I only gave it 4 stars for comfort, however, because as others have noted, the straps are puny.

Adorable and functional backpack
Design is so unique - the handles are very handy on the top. the backpack straps actually have great placement .... although they don't have padding...I think its conforatable without it... I prefer the low profile and not having added bulk
Great size and light weight - Looks small at first, but you can really pack a ton of stuff. This fits my macbook pro 13" perfectly plus everything else I normally carry
Zippers actually zip! - run smooth and open up the entire backpack, so you have access to all your things quickly without rummaging through your stuff like a angry squirrel
Waterproof and the logo is reflective!
con- it can get white lines from wear because of the material, but its easy to clean
Overall the backpack is a winner, but the hardest part is picking the color
