I sent back the first pair of these Zappo's sent me as I thought they had sent black instead of brown. When the replacement pair was the same color, I was finally able to find lighting in which they looked brown, not black. They are that dark. The label on the end of the box says "Amalfi testa di moro." Google translates "testa di moro" from Italian as "brown", but as "moro" means "dark", I suspect is means "dark brown". The Amalfi leather is very stiff. I sent back the second pair because I wanted something a little softer and of lighter color.

I found the amalfi leather stiff and not flexible and after taking only a few steps. the backstrap was digging into my ankles. Since this is described as a unisex sandal, in my opinion, maybe it fits men or women with thick ankles and not my skinny ankles. Thanks for the great service Zappos!

I returned these because the leather felt to plastic-y and the straps were not comfortable. Ended up going with the oiled leather and regular footbed and was much happier.

So disappointed that these have stiff straps that actually cut into the tops of my feet. The foot bed across the front is too tapered for my squarish toes. Since I love my ancient two strap patent leather Birki's I'd hoped to find a similar style with a strap for the heel. Why don't they make this shoe (the Milano) for a woman's foot, in longer lengths (like up to a size 11), and in two widths to and with soft straps?

These sandals did not have a soft footbed, which was why I bought them. Also, these "Faded Khaki Oiled Leather" sandals, though new, came in a replacement box with a note that the box was damaged in transit. While I understand that "faded khaki" can be a bit varied in color, the leather looked like it had been abraded somewhat. Definitely not what I was expecting from the picture.

I ordered the Soft Footbed, and was sent the regular footbed. Have to return this pair of shoes, and there are no more left in my size.

Ordered a size 45. Received a size 46. Now size 45 is out of stock. I should have ordered through Amazon. Refunds via Zappos take forever.

The description on this item is wrong; these are NOT Soft Footbed. The pictures are correct. When I originally ordered and contacted Zappos, they told me I received the wrong item. So I exchanged and now received another pair that is still NOT Soft Footbed. Additionally, this pair is in poor condition having been worn by someone else, scuffed up, and even left their foot markings. Wow Zappos, this is really how you treat customers?

Don’t really know about the product I ordered because the wrong item was sent. The description clearly says the product has the soft footbed. What was delivered does not have the soft footbed.

The sandal seemed too wide and too long. Us the leather was so stiff in the straps they hurt my feet.

Was mailed Birkenstocks with the wrong footbed twice. Appreciated the extremely fast service, but the items were incorrect.

Shoe is okay. Comfortable and pretty. The thing is it doesn’t come with original box and even without tag which really bothers me. Apparently it is not a new shoes. I had to change the size and all shoes come without box and tag. It is expensive shoes and it seems like Zappos doesn’t really care…

I buy a brand new pair, however; when I get the sandals, they aren't in a box, they are in a sealed bag and I realized they have been worn by someone, probably returned and subsequently Zappos sends them to me as a "new pair" , this is disgusting and I find it outrageous to be honest.

you managed to send the wrong size, color, AND model......plus it was a womens shoe instead of a mens......

First and last pair of Birkenstocks. Rock hard footbed, long in length and too narrow in width. Leather too thick and initial buckling took about 20 minutes. Felt like I was walking on the straps. Unwearable.

the shoes came in a box size 42 but the sandals inside the box were size 39. I ordered a men's size 9-9 1/2 so I think the box size would have worked, had they contained the correct size shoes inside. Also, I think the shoes inside the box were women's, not mens sizing.

Unfortunately the sandals arrived with what appeared to be a significant manufacture’s defect. The heel strap had chunks out of it but it had by dyed the color of the rest of the shoe. There was a definite oversight by quality control. I sent them back.

Horrible! The 45s Soft&Orig Footbed in my Arizonas fit perfectly. These however, toes were right up on the lip. When I loosened the back strap all the way, they may have worked but the function of the back strap was useless my heel was coming out making a backstrap useless. Weird!!!

they were not NEW! not sure what happened there but they came with a defect cork and sole.
