The shoes, by themself, are very nice. The shoes are not the problem; I am the problem. I suffer from 'Charcot foot syndrome', which has damaged my ankle almost beyond repair. As a result, I must wear a support brace to provide stability to the ankle joint. I was hoping this shoe, in a larger than needed size and a longer, more open 'collar' would accommodate my foot AND the brace. Alas, it does not. I've tried wearing the shoes without the brace, but there is not enough support to the ankle when I do so. I wish I could find a way to adapt to the shoe or adapt the shoe to my situation, but I can't.

This is my second pair of these loafers, both 13 Wide. The first pair fit perfectly, but this pair were a little wider which makes for a sloppy fit. I have added an extra insole liner to solve the problem, but it appears there is a quality control issue. I have been buying Ecco shoes for years, and they always fit true to size.

Beautiful shoe, the Zappos Web Site and Customer Service is excellent. It's a pleasure to deal with a company that has its customers in mind.

Nice looking shoe. Felt slightly larger than expected, but still comfortable. Not much arch support to speak of.

Rockports are some of my favorite brands of shoes. I’ve had probably a half dozen in different styles over the past 20 years and always been happy with them. These penny loafers, however, run about a half size to small, and a little tight as well. If I don’t wear socks they’ve perfect, but the Merrill black socks I bought with them are too thick. I think if I buy mens dress socks, think and crew in fit I’ll be extremely happy with these shoes.

Purchased these shoes for my son. He wears them for school and loves the way they fit and are very comfortable.

I am shocked to need to return again and go down a half size! I am usually a 7 1/2 and sometimes even and 8. I can't wait to see how the 6 1/2 wide feel

Be specific about your likes and dislikes. How was the fit and size? What does the material feel like? How awesome (or not) do you feel wearing them?

I was surprised at how comfortable these shoes were right out of the box. No period of time to "break" them in. A very classic style and fit.

Great durability and comfort. These will hold up well if you are tough on your shoes.

Color is not as dark as the photo. It's not bad, but has an odd sheen that makes it looks like cheap vinyl out of the box. A little wear and it corrects itself though. Rockport is still top notch when it comes to comfort.

Good shoe for the price

basically a nice shoe that was slightly too long for my foot and the heel felt loose.
