Hands down great sunglasses. Bought based on prior review and it did me well. Allows good light in even in overcast day. Stylish.

I bought my Spartan Reefs whilst holidaying in Waikiki and took them into Lenscrafters to arrange for RX lens to be fitted by Maui Jim and then posted back to Australia. Total turnaround time was less than 12 days including transport to Australia. Perfect prescription fitted. Exceptional vision. I cannot recommend Maui Jim Glasses more highly. I love these sunglasses. The most apparent advantage for me is how solid and sturdy they are. While the feel of a good, light pair of sunglasses is great, I actually prefer how durable these seem to be. I love that I don t feel like I need to treat this pair delicately when I put them on, take them off, set them down somewhere, or put them back in the case. The frames and earpieces are thicker than most and very smooth. They don't catch or snag at all when I put them on. The rotation of the arms is a bit tighter than other Maui Jim sunglasses but not so tight that it feels like you're prying them open. The nose pads are actually embedded in the rims which causes the sunglasses to rest a little lower than those with the extended pads. I have a slightly smaller nose which results in a slight feeling of nose-pinching (also barely noticeable). The shape and size of the lenses are perfect and could not possibly be better for my personal preferences: not too big and boisterous but not so small where you are forced to rotate your head to see everything within your frame of sight. In terms of visual quality, Spartan Reef is second to none. Why? Because Maui Jim made them. The clarity is amazing and the pop of color is incredible. We went on a mountain drive last week to see the changing fall colors. It was a bright, sunny day at high elevation, so I had my Spartan Reefs on. When we stopped, I took them off for a moment and did a double-take. The colors of the leaves were somehow more bright and vivid with the sunglasses on than with them off! I don t understand how that s even possible, but my wife can vouch for me. My very favorite sunglasses are those where within 10 seconds of putting them on, I don t even notice they are there. I don t notice the frames within my vision, I don't notice the weight on my nose or feel the arms behind my ears. The Spartan Reef doesn't quite meet that criteria given the slight increase in weight and size of frames, but the look, fit, style, and durability far outweigh any cons I would give these sunglasses. The negatives are so slight that I still give them a resounding five out of five stars.

Just received a pair of Spartan Reef (Rx) in Marlin with the HCL Bronze lens. The optics are amazing. Colors around the Tampa Bay as I make my way over the Skyway are over the top. The styling and fit just superb. I will primarily use them for fishing the flats and inshore on the gulf coast of Florida. Stopped on the way home from the Optics Shop in St. Pete where I bought them and took a look into the bay and was blown away with how well they see into the water column. Sight fishing here I come. Glad I spent a little extra and got the best. Thanks Maui Jim! Thanks Optic Shop! Great purchase experience.

This is my first pair of MJ's after being loyal to Costa for a few years now. Man, am I glad I bought these. They are amazing. The fit is great for my big head. The bronze lenses have great color. And I highly recommend the Marlin frames. I have never seen that color frame before and it's just awesome looking in person. MJ just got a huge fan here.

I have had several pairs of Maui Jim sunglasses and I am convinced that the Maui Jim Neutral Gray glass lenses are absolutely the best lenses on earth! I have had other brands as well as other Maui Jim models with other lenses and the Neutral Gray glass lens is the only one that makes me say "WOW" when I put them on! The color is 100% accurate (no color shift or tinting), they do not distort the image, they have next to zer glare (something that nobody does better than Maui Jim) and ey thhave the sharpest image quality I have ever seen in a pair of sunglasses (Persol included, which I also own). The blow everything else away! The Spartan Reef style is very comfortable to wear, fits close to the head, is very stylish, is made very well and is one of the lighter weight styles with glass lenses. These are the very best sunglasses I have ever had at any price.

I JUST RECEIVED THESE GLASSES YESTERDAY, AND AS SOON AS I TOOK THEM OUT OF THE BOX I WAS WOWED. FROM THE BOX, TO THE CASE, TO THE BAG, SUPERB QUALITY. I'VE HAD THE SAME PAIR OF COSTAS FOR 5 YEARS, AND WANTED SOME NEW GLASSES. I'VE HAD OAKLEY, COSTA, AND I WAS HONESTLY SHOPPING ANOTHER PAIR OF COSTAS BUT I FEEL THE QUALITY HAS DROPPED WITH THEIR FRAMES OVER THE YEARS... I'VE SEEN A FEW PEOPLE WEARING MJ'S AND DECIDED TO CHECK THEM OUT... NEEDLESS TO SAY, MJ HAS GAINED A CUSTOMER FOR LIFE! THESE GLASSES ARE AWESOME! IM NOW IN THE PROCESS OF FINDING A PAIR FOR MY WIFE! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM!

I have worn these glasses almost exclusively and I love them. This is my seventh pair of Maui Jim's and I have yet to find any I haven't liked. They are great on the water or in the desert. Glare is virtually eliminated. The other really great feature is the company really stands behind their product. When I have had to have my glasses repaired I have sent them in and not once have I ever been charged for any repair. I love these glasses and this company.

Spartan Reef are truly great sunglasses. They fit very well, they are built to last, and the lenses are not from this Earth! Super clarity, and colors are actually enhanced. Maui Jim sunglasses are simply the best money can buy. You get what you pay for, and much more. Great Job, MJ!

I really wanted to LOVE these sunglasses. I ended up returning them but still might reorder. Loved the look but I was surprised on how heavy these were.

A bit of a heavy frame great lens

Really like the glasses with one exception. I have a bald head and when I put the glasses up on my head I can feel the sharp edges against my scalp of where the nose rubber meets the plastic frame. Not good engineering or QA.

Lenses are great! Frames are aweful. They hurt around ears and nose
