I suppose these could rip as one complaint notes... but they are such an awesome pant to wear when you want to wear shorts but the situation dictates a pant- or the sun protection is needed. There just could not be a lighter more comfortable pant for that night out at the beach. They wick dry in no time too. Roll them up for that walk in the surf- get 'em wet. unroll and 5 minutes later they are dry. Camp pant, beach pant, paddle pants... comfortable-after-you-have-done-all-of-the-yard-work pants. They rock.

I agree with most of the reviews on these pants. The one part that I'd add is that they to tend to tear rather easily. The Kuhl Outrage is a better product.

Do not buy these pants! I loved these when I first bought a pair at an Atlanta retailer. I liked them so much that I ordered another pair in a different color from Zappos. Then I wore them a few times. Within a month the crotch started to fray. By the end of two months and about eight wearings, they were totally shot. Thank you, Zappos, for allowing me to return them, no questions asked. This will be the last Kuhl product that I ever buy.

Great pants for warm weather. Throw a pair of long johns on under For colder days.

I really like these pants. Goodbye blue jeans. These are much cooler than jeans. I now wear them salsa and swing dancing besides just going around town and I live wear it is hot. Great for traveling too. Just ordered another pair.

They are perfectly designed for hiking but with their light weight and great fit my husband also wears them out on hot summer nights. Great multi-tasking pants.

I've had these out on about 10 day hikes so far and they are durable and comfortable. Nice soft material, plenty of room and pockets. True to size.

If you need pants that keep you cool, these are the ones to buy. They have vents everywhere and I was cooler wearing these than when I wore shorts. They do seem to run tight in the waist but then they start to stretch out. Also, they seem to run long. Super light and comfortable and they look good too.

My wife got me these for Christmas before my week-long trip to Haiti and they are amazing. She got me a size up on the waist after reading they run small (I wear a 34x34, these are 35x34 and fit perfectly). The vents in the pants kept me cool in the 90 F heat and varying humidity and the material was perfect to wash in the sink/shower and air-dry overnight. I'm looking forward to wearing these hiking and in general. The zippered side pockets were perfect for my cell phone in one leg and passport/wallet in the other. It's a shame they're so freakin' expensive, because I'd love to own more Kuhl pants.

I have around 10 pairs of Kuhl pants, and these are my favorite for warm weather. They might be a little tighter around the waist than some of the other styles, but the main difference that I notice is that they have less rise. Depending on your own dimensions, you may like this fit, or not. Personally, I love them.

these are as cool (temperature) of pants as you can have. Plenty of vents and they are not too obvious so they look fairly normal. They do run small, even compare to other Kuhl. Also, the pockets are small which might be an issue for larger phones. I have a normal iphone (4.7" screen) and it kinda sticks out of front pocket - just a bit. Something like a iphone plus or 6" android phone would be an issue.

These make a good amount of noise when walking. Other than that I like them. Zappos' customer service is the best.

I love the material and fabric cuts of these pants. This light khaki color isn't that good. Too greenish, doesn't go with many colors. Well made jeans otherwise!

These pants are incredibly light and seem very durable. After one hike into the Rattlesnake Wilderness I am very pleased. They are very breathable and, as the name suggests, airy. This is due to the fabric and some well positioned vents. I also found the articulated knees a big plus to comfort while trekking. Another plus - they dry quickly. After hiking through snow they dried by the end of the journey. I would recommend these pants to anyone hiking in warm weather. The only downside is the sizing. I usually wear a 32 but needed a 33. Order 1 size up!

I see the last poster had fit issues, and that's unfortunate. I have 3 other pairs of Kuhl pants and a 32" waist, and I ordered these in a 32/32 as well and they fit me fine. They do sit on my waist differently than the other Kuhls that I own, but they're perfectly comfortable where they are. I have similar pants from North Face, Columbia, and EMS, and I have to say that I like these better. The other similars I own are 100% synthetic, but these are a cotton/synthetic blend, and I like the way that they hang and feel better against my skin. The "11 vents" count the pockets- All the pockets have a mesh type lining that does allow for good airflow. There's also dedicated vents behind the knees. None of the mesh is actually visible while wearing them. I would buy them again, and would definitely like to see more Kuhl products in this material.

I own 5 pairs (3 styles) of Kuhl pants, and these are the first I've had to return for fit. And it is not a minor miss; they are off by two sizes, I'd guess. Not kool, Kuhl. Not kool at all. (But thanks, Zappos, for the easy return.)

These pants are perfect in lightweight feel and comfort - but ridiculously horrible from a durability standpoint. The crotch area wore completely through from friction with minimal walks in a 2 month period. While the fabric is light, it's also not reinforced where it needs to be and wears way too fast for pants at this price point. I will not buy these again as they're currently constructed.
