Gjr jobben, dog...

This is a great gaiter for winter sports. It is warm and looks good. My only complaint is the length. I have an older version also, that is about twice as long and can fold into itself to look short like this one. The previous longer version also allowed for being pulled up over the back of the head, to work like a balaclava when needed - but it served as a simple neck gaiter also. This new shorter version does not have the same length and versatility. It is a good neck gaiter, but not as great as my older Arcteryx gaiter.

I purchased this as a backup for another neck gaiter I used last year. I tried it out with the first cold snap here and it has now become my primary neck gaiter. Low profile without sacrificing wind resistance nor warmth. I wear it going to and from work on bitterly cold days in wind and in calm conditions. It creates a nice gap filler when my parka is fully zipped, cushions against zippers and seams and can be pulled up to cover my mouth, back of the neck and nose. It stays in place quite well unless it's just on my chin and then tends to slip down. It stretches enough to pull over my head without losing elasticity to stay in place once on. I find the material comfortable and it hasn't iced up yet when wearing in -25F conditions. Once I go on long bike rides in that temp I may reevaluate. Overall a solid purchase and I'm very happy with the performance to date. The white logo on the black stands out and looks like a bug flew into your mouth if you don't rotate it to the back or side though...

This gaiter is fantastic! Altough the label mentions it's 95% wool I was a bit concerned that it might be itchy, it's quite the contrary. It's warm and soft like cashmere but has a synthetic feel to it, I'm guessing it's from the spandex. It's very comfortable and stretches quite a bit making it easy to put it over my head. It's the perfect lenght to cover your neck and face if it gets too windy. I've only used it for walking around so breathing through it was ok. Don't know if it fares well for sports though. I've had it for a week or so that's why I gave it 4 stars. Will definitely give 5 if it's a durable product. Excellent product overall, I highly recommend it.

This piece was used in the recent Jonah blizzard of Jan. 2016. I went on a hike during the storm, eager to test this out for the first time. I had to repeatedly remove the gaiter from my nose and mouth because it built up so much moisture that it was hard to breathe. It was soaking wet. With the wind, the cold moisture began to freeze and also added to the discomfort. Maybe this is best used in drier conditions, but don't get me wrong - this added considerable warmth to my neck when underneath my jacket. I'm just bummed the balaclava aspect of it is underwhelming. Temp was 20F, ~90% humidity, with winds of 20mph. Fun 100%
