I had been in pain in my achilles and shins for about a month and I KNEW that I really needed some new running shoes but everything I tried on either had too much heal, not enough toe drop, etc etc... I'm not a long distance runner at this point. I typically run between 1 and 4 miles a day, 6-7 days a week. I wanted not quite a minimalist shoe, but not something bulky either... So I found these Northface shoes and decided to give them a go on a treadmill (you know, incase I needed to return them).. I shit you not, within a half mile of my run, all the pain in my achilles and shins went away. The next day I ran my first 5k on the treadmill in over a month with NO pain. I love these shoes and I can't wait to get another pair. They have great traction on them so I definitely want to get another pair to take hiking/trail running! I think these are the perfect shoe for those of us in that between stage of being able to have minimalist shoes and needing just a bit of support. Or if you just want a super light weight shoe that hugs your foot without a huge heal to ruin your stride.

I got same situation as one review here: After only a few months of occasional wear the fabric on the uppers is tearing. I thought maybe it was my problem. But now it looks obviously it is the design problem of TNF. I am so disappointed with the quality of TNF.

Wow, I was looking for a workout shoe that I could wear outside for my workout. I was not looking for a running shoe, Hiking shoe, or even pure gym shoe. This shoes will allow me to be in the elements and do my workouts outside. I have only had the shoe for three weeks, a total of ten workouts, but the shoe is holding up, most other shoes do not with what I put them thru, thus I always get stuck with a heavy hiking type of shoe. North face might just have hit a home run with this shoe. I wear an 11 in almost every brand, and I ordered an 11 and it fit perfect.

Very comfortable and stable workout shoe, but unfortunately did not hold up well at all. Within 2 months the mesh fabric had ripped out on both shoes.

Nice looking shoe, but didn't hold up. The mesh type fabric separated rather quickly with minimal use. Expensive shoe, poor quality. Would not recommend.

I have been wearing North Face trail running shoes for about 10 years now for working out in the gym and normal every day wear. I have started running and thought I would try these as I really liked the way they looked and how light they are. I sent my first pair back because they were too narrow and ordered a half size larger. The larger pair fit much better in the width and length. My only other problem with the shoe is that it does not have nearly as good of cushion/padding as my previous 4 pairs of North Face shoes. The shoes look great but I would not recommend them for running with such little cushion.

They look better in the picture. I usually wear black nike free's, so they looked goofy when I wore them. They also felt a full size smaller. I wear size 11 normally.

The uppers are too fragile. I'm easy on shoes. My running shoes typically last years. I've stopped wearing these in an absurd effort to extend their life.

Very disappointed in the quality of the fabric. After only a few months of occasional wear the fabric on the uppers is tearing. I love the style but I'm going to return them.

I am very disappointed with this model. It looks great and fits perfectly but after only three time wearing the fabric started tearing and holes appeared on the top. Fabric that is used on the top is the worst quality.

These shoes came in and my husband loved them! A week went by and suddenly there was a hole in them. It has been two months now and it is time for a new pair of shoes already! I am seriously unhappy and wish I could get my money back! This is way to much money to spend on shoes that lasts for two months!

I had the same experience as others. Within four weeks of very light use, the uppers had holes in them. There seems to be a problem with the mesh fabric.

Super comfort and style, light and minimal...but they fall apart in about 6 weeks. They fall apart...I want to make that clear. In 6 weeks of light use the uppers will have holes! This is a failed product and TNF should pull this shoe from production...the "FlexFilm" is a failed product and I do not believe it was appropriately tested for basic durability. I have read the words "real hikers don't wear North Face." I am a senior citizen wearing Ultra Kilowatt to walk the dog on dry pavement...holes in 6 weeks! I promise.

These provide very little support. They became soft very quickly losing almost all support in a few short weeks. I normally love North Face products, but this is not one that I would ever buy again.
I'd also recommend:
