I bought these pants for working i the mountains during the shoulder season. Wanted a soft shell pant that i could still do cardio in. I hiked in gloppy, wet conditions up a peak this week, temps ~40, and they were wonderful. I never got hot while moving, but wasnt cold when stopping or in the wind. They repelled water well. The bottom cuffs got soaked (inevitable) after about 5 miles of walking in 6" snow. I'm impressed. The pockets are big and well placed. I especially love the two thigh pockets. I also love that the fit is slim but not tight on my legs. Easy to move in, actually store stuff in pockets, and layer under. They're the perfect cuff size to fit over light mountaineering boots and not let snow in. My only disappointment is there are no belt loops, so i sewed those on. There's a small built in belt, but actual belt loops are more for me. I can't wait to climb in them, i think they'll be great on rock, too. Im 5'7", 145, 32" inseam and the size 6 fit great.

These pants work well for me for all kinds of conditions and activities. They fit me perfectly in the short length, which I love. Petite people often struggle with pant lengths but these are great.

I use this product for golfing in winter and traveling in cold weather. The pants (2 S) fit well and give a comfortable feel to my 5 foot 3 inches body, though I might still need to adjust the length a bit. They also give the right amount of warmth
Protection. Highly recommend this functional yet chic pair.

Warm and comfortable. I wish the pockets fit hands better. They are pretty small and with how tight they are around the hips, aren't practical as hand pockets. More of an air vent. They are very great for warming the cold not having to use a tight under layer.

Second pair of these pants. The updated fit is flattering, slightly less baggy bum and flatter waistband cinch that is easier to adjust. The material is so robust, dirt brushes off and they wash really well, no shrinkage. Love the soft, fleecy inside although I usually wear long underwear underneath. Use for everything, snowshoeing, hiking, town, even eating out coz they fit so nicely. I'm 5' 4", athletic build and bought size 6 reg.

So comfortable! Love that they are available in a long size, just wish they were available in a 2 long.
The 4 is a bit large which allows me to layer under on the really chilly days and adjust the waist pull to the proper fit.

Love those, I'm always cold, and those are perfect. went for a day hike in 32-35F, and it was perfect as is, without a base layer. I'm so happy. Fit the same as my regular gamma, love the style. 5'9 and 140 pounds, took the 6T, they fit perfectly, like in the pictures.

Baggy in all the wrong places. It was agitating to have so much material flapping around my fee.t, kind of like baggy dress pants and high heels. I am 5'3, 150 lbs, I ordered a size 10 due to my previous 8s (maybe the SL version) being a little snug and missing the hook and loop snap. The snap felt itchy against my skin and the rest of the material was also itchy. The short size has always been perfect, but unless I yank these into highrise mode, the short was too long.

Love these pants for winter hiking. Warm. 2 side pockets are very useful. I had an earlier generation too. Both are great. The new ones may be a little less warm but the bottom pant opening is a bit wider which helps with boots. I would highly recommend.

Two years ago I bought the lighter version of this pant in a 10. I have two new grandchildren, am back in New York, and gardening a lot outside. Loved the pockets, toughness, and attractive fit and versatility. Now bought this heavy weight version to be warmer walking and hiking and took the 12 to account for pounds gained during pneumonia. There is plenty of room for a base layer and the doublesnap waist closure works fine and has a good adjustment feature so should be good as I move more. For hourglass figure a very attractive fit and designed so well for sitting on the ground. Sturdy in 40 mile wind and dried right away when my grandson poured liquid on it in fabric experimentation. Love them.

LOVE THESE PANTS! The pockets are huge and can fit a lot. I think the fit is better than the original Gammas, but I still need to size up one size to be able to fit them properly. They end up being baggy towards the bottom, but I can deal with it for a decent pair of pants. I also don't need to add a base layer on warmer winter days which is great!

I've owned this pants for a few months now, and I'm still loving them! They're warm, cozy, and perfect for hiking. The fabric is soft to skin and provides great insulation, keeping me comfortable on cooler days. They allow for easy movement and have deep pockets for my essentials. Plus, the fit is stylish enough for everyday wear.
Highly recommend these for anyone who loves the outdoors!

My go-to pant for mixed climbing. The fabric withstands wet snow, cuts wind and the lining of the fabric provides warmth. It withstands abrasion against the rock. The fit allows for wearing a merino under layer for colder temps. The belt tightening system allows for a snug fit.

Lining is perfect for hiking in 40 - 50 degrees farenheit weather and plenty of room to wear long underwear for colder days. Four large zip pockets with lots of room for keys, ID, etc. Only negative is the very large and baggy rear, hip and thigh. I am 5 ft 10" tall, 141 lbs. Athletic build. Bought a size 10. I kept them because they are perfect for cool and cold weather hiking, but they are not flattering.

These are incredibly comfortable pants that are flattering on. I deducted a star (and ended up returning them) because they are not warm enough without a layer underneath them- the wind sneaks in. I was looking for a pair of pants that I could wear alone in the cold (under 40 degrees F).

The older model had a much thicker inner lining which added to the overall warmth. This version is a fleece lined gamma pant. I admit that it's much lighter than the previous version, but Its not what I expected.

I really love the product it's exactly what I was looking for but the price tag highlights the most important feature it's missing: air vents. For such warm pants, that's an essential feature for the approach.
In the end, I didn't buy them because they aren't versatile enough for the price point, which is sad. I really think there are no pants for women designed specifically for winter scrambling, ice climbing, and winter multipitches. This was my closest shot, but the money can be better invested in something cheaper.

I just received this pants and the second snap at the waist was broken. It appears that it was not secured to the waist band. I did try them on and liked the felt so will try and order another pair..

The button clasp to close the pants on the waist is the worst. I've had this issue with all Gamma pants with a button. Where it lies on my stomach causes pain in both a size 0 (my usual size) and the size 2 (too big for me regardless). I wish these had no button, just stretch/elastic waist for comfortable tummy expansion.

Arcteryx has changed the fit of this amazing pant. I am so disappointed. They revised the leg to be wider and fuller and there's too much material. Even in a size 0 or 00 there is too much room in the leg.
Besides the new cut of the pant, these are amazing pants. But they do not fit like they used to and I would not recommend.
