This is a really great jacket with a little room for a couple of improvements.
I recommend this jacket to everybody. It's lightweight, good for layering, etc. I literally wear this jacket everyday from November to March.
The room for improvement is mainly focused on the zipper. If something could work "too good", it's this zipper. I was riding my bike on a long down hill section this past winter, and the wind caused the jacket to unzip and then just flap in the wind until I could stop and rezip it. The Cerium LT has a locking zipper ... that's literally the only thing this jacket lacks in quality!
My fingernails easily catch on the seams inside the sleeves. I don't keep my fingernails unusually long, but twice now, as I've been putting the jacket on, the seams have snagged. I've had to go in with a needle and carefully put the thread back into place so that it doesn't fit weirdly.
As far as stain resistance, this jacket is great. I was a little worried a month ago because I told my Wilderness First Responder class, and during one of our scenarios, I had to lay in the mud for three hours. I got it home that night and yes, I had to wash it twice, but nothing stained.
Overall, great jacket, just please give us locking zippers. :)

I love the way this jacket fits, very true to Arc'teryx sizing. I'm 5'6, 135lbs with broad shoulders and wear a M in pretty much all Arc'teryx Jackets and this fits no different. Its trim, but I can easily fit another fleece underneath if I need extra warmth. My only complaint is that the facing used for the hand pockets and the hem is really stiff and noisy. The whole jacket is really dialed, except for this.

I have previously shied away from bulky mid layer insulation as I like to train and travel fast and light. I chanced upon a YouTube review of this piece and knew I had to take a look.
I am glad that I did as the jacket offers low bulk, great articulation and a trim fit. The side panels are great at exhausting heat. It's a great all rounder and I've even used it in on a couple of mtb rides.
The only downsides are the elasticated cuff and the internal pocket zipper. I had to warranty replace my first jacket as the stitching and seam tore. Needs to be beefed up or reconfigured for the next iteration. The pocket zipper pull is one sided. Difficult to use if you stuff the jacket into the internal pocket. A double sided puller would be better here.
It's a great core piece. I would definitely stock up with a few of them if my two gripes could be resolved!

I use this jacket when running trails with one lightweight wool base layer at 25 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. It remains warm and light throughout a six mile run.
This jacket will snag easily when brushed up against a ruff surface like a trees or bush. The snag looks terrible and is a bummer when it happens. So you have to be careful when wearing it as an outer layer. I would not recommend wearing when walking through tall brush.
Also the front zipper does not lock very well and unzips frequently when running (really frustrating). I noticed on the website a locking zipper is being used so perhaps I have defective one.

Absolutely love this jacket, warm without being bulky, fits nicely under outer jackets but warm enough to wear on its own at some pretty low temperatures.

This is turning out to be my favorite lightweight insulated jacket. Medium fits perfect (5'9", 155# . It is a nice trim fit and perfect sleeve length. Material is durable, yet lightweight. Very warm considering how light the jacket is. Couple of minor things: The side panels are nice for breathability and movement; however, they are not windproof whatsoever. A windstopper fabric would solve this problem while also allowing flexibility and breathability. Also, there appears to be no "pocket" for storage as described. I realize you can stuff it into the sleeve #or the hood), but I bought the jacket thinking it had a stuff "pocket" as the description states. Otherwise, I love this jacket and highly recommend it.

I purchased my first Arc'teryx jacket last year: the Gamma. I loved the fit, especially around the arms/body. It's a real active jacket.
As winter arrived in Scotland I wanted something warm as an every day jacket: around town and although I do the odd Munro in the summer I'm by no means an extreme weather adventurer. Having read various reviews I went for the Atom as it's extremely lightweight, comfortable and most importantly keeps me warm. The best part is the fit: you don't feel like you are wearing 5 tops, it's extremely free and ideal for someone active. It also looks pretty cool in the blue. For those of you who haven't felt coreloft its like a thin sleeping bag material.
Similar with other jackets the hood is made for helmets which can be frustratingly large, but the elastic keeps it on! One pointer for those wanting something as an every day jacket is that I do feel the cold when the wind picks up and you have a wind chill factor. If its below freezing or close to it and there is wind then you need something else either on top or below.
Overall a cracking jacket for something to keep you warm, yet not overheat in the warmer months.

Rips easily and cannot be repaired. Melts easily in the presence of flame, cigarettes, stove etc. Otherwise it has the weight of one of Marylin Monroes's slips and the warmth of her heart! This is my second one 'cos the first one got melted at the wrists when I was cooking which was tolerable but then it got ripped across the stomach area from a crowd control barrier and looked really ugly with it's down exposed.

I agree mostly with all the positive reviews of the atom LT. Its a great light jacket for active use (beware thorns). Its not as warm as everyone likes to believe, but its a great layering piece under a shell (I wear mine under my Beta AR and Modon on really cold days). BUT it is not very beard friendly. My neck and chin wiskers are constantly getting snagged painfully in the zipper and even the stretchy piping around the collar. The reason is the draft/chin guard is puny, it would be nice if it was enlarged and maybe even wrapped over the top so the zipper could nestle into it at the top. The zipper is both nice and easy to zip and annoying because it doesn't stay zipped up very firmly. It would also be nice if this thing had an adjustable hood. Watch the video on how to stuff it into its sleeve, its pretty cool. Still a nice light jacket, perfect weight for all of fall, but fix the chin guard!

If you buy this jacket, which I would highly recommend , you will likely end up wearing it to death, i.e. for everything, everywhere, all seasons, like I did. Here are a couple notes of things I noticed after extended wear and tear:
The stretchy side panels of the jacket will stretch out. I wish I had bought the jacket a size smaller (it would have been a little snug at first, but after time I think that would have been a better fit).
If you don't want the side panel material to pill (mine did after the first few washes), always wash it inside out.
The outer fabric is so soft and lightweight it feels beautiful on, but it stains and attracts dirt like no other technical jacket I own. Expect to wash this piece lots and look after stains before they set.

Amazing for weight. Fits small. Liked everything about this jacket for damp or cool weather except for the gussets under the sleeves. When the wind is blowing or your riding your bike you can feel the cold air on your sides and under your arms.
Mine got stolen so I am replacing it with an SV hoody and will report back.

I bought this jacket in the fall of 2011 and wore it just about everyday through winter. It is extremely comfortable and gets quite warm with very little activity. The medium fits me perfectly as I am 6", lengthly and 150 pounds. Mostly used in transit, I decided to take this jacket up to the mountains where it performed as expected. The coreloft kept me warm but the side stitching provided ample ventilation. The Durable Water Repellent was fantastic when I first got the jacket but it seems to have "worn off" and not perform as well having worn this jacket everyday in rainy Vancouver. I am aware that this is not meant to be used as a rain jacket and the lifespan of this would probably last longer with proper use. Overall this is a fantastic lightweight jacket with unmatched comfort and warmth. The fit is perfect for me and I would highly recommend this jacket for use in the fall winter and early spring.

It looks like the fleece is going the way of the dodo thanks to this item.
Brilliantly warm for such a light weight. Fit and shape are just fantastic.
The only thing I could suggest is that the power stretch panel does not really need to run the full length of the side of the jacket. I'd lenghten it down the arm by an inch or two but at the same time it really only needs to start just below the nipple level.
This would still provide good breathability while increasing the wind resistance of the garment.
Another classic from Arcteryx and one I'll instantly replace should I need to!

This jacket has a great 'performance' fit cut although I had to drop down from a Medium to a Small to get the best 'mid-layer' fit. The jacket is amazingly light, the sleeve is nice and slim with very neat cuffs. There are two main issues really, first is the zip which has no garage and slides very easily-good if you want to vent quickly though and secondly the hood has no volume adjust on it making it virtually redundant when the jacket is worn as an outer layer. This is a real shame as I've seen very neat hood adjustments recently which add very little weight or bulk.

This is my 5th different Arcteryx jacket over the years and one of my favorites. So far I've found it comfortable (with only a T-shirt underneath) down to the mid-40's. I'd say its warmth is comparable to a mid/heavy-weight fleece with a windbreaker over it. In the backcountry I can use it down close to freezing when it's over a long-sleeve lightweight wool top, and under a rainshell. The hood adds a lot of warmth for minimal weight and confusion, although with the sacrifice of adjustment.
My favorite part are the cuffs, which provide a really nice stretchy, secure fit (unlike some other Arcteryx cuff designs). They are perfectly low profile and wear well under a hardshell, and/or along with gloves. Fit and quality are typical Arcteryx best in the business. I really like the clean design that's free of the sewn thru seams you see all across most other synthetic-insulated jackets, and also has a nice matte finish to the shell material, rather than the glossy sheen of most insulated outdoor pieces.
My only complaints (as I've seen others mention) is that the main zipper easily comes down on it's own. Arcteryx really needs to change this to a locking/stiffer zipper design. Also, the fleece sides/underarms have begun pilling after two seasons, and hold odor much more than the rest. I wish they'd just use a low profile nylon there instead. But these are slight annoyances for what otherwise is a perfect insulating mid-layer.

The Atom LT has a very nice fit for a middle/outer layer - nice and tight. It has a good warmth in it. The stretch part sidepanels work surprisingly well to dump heat when it gets too much. Also a problem though, when it's windy and you are not active. The cold wind blows right in under your arms... But that's where a shell jacket comes in handy.
I'm a bit disappointed with the hood. There is no way of tightening it around your face and it is not small/tight enough to stay where in place. Also, when not using the hood, the neck opening in the jacket is pretty big and lets a lot of cold and wind sneak in.

I love the weight and insulating qualities of this jacket, but wish it was a bit shorter to fit my 5' 4 " height, 120 lbs, & full chested torso. So either make a petite size to fit us more compact gals, or include a cinch cord in the bottom of jacket to shorten it up a bit for us shorter folks. A medium size fits my shoulders and chest, though a bit more narrow than I like. This has stopped me from purchasing more of this jacket, though I wish I could.

I love using this jacket as a midlayer on warmer fall and winter days. My only issue with it is the hips are still too narrow, and the jacket starts to ride up above my waist and butt. I personally need to use the women's version since the men's has too narrow of a waist, but the women's version doesn't have enough room in the chest, shoulders, and waist.

Nearly 5 stars but......
This jacket has had it's cut/pattern changed to fit longer in the torso. If you're tall in the torso - great! This will serve you well and is truly a bomb proof and incredibly high performing and cosy jacket! I've owned one for 9 years and wore/loved it non stop until it's recent death.
I purchased a new one but sadly most of us women aren't tall in the torso and the new fit just feels off and unflattering on me now. It sits tight on my hips and the extra few inches of length annoys and restricts my body. I miss the boxier cut that ended just below my hips as I could move more freely, plus I thought it looked much more flattering this length too! Heart breaking after owning the older cut for many years and loving the way it fit and felt.
Please, PLEASE, please Arc'teryx; bring back your cute boxy cut for us shorter women!
