Purchased this before deployment to McMurdo Station, Antarctica. Cannot say enough about the temperature regulation and warmth qualities of this garment. I understand some will complain about the wind penetration under the arms but as someone who was very physically active in a cold/windy environment, I appreciated the ventilation and had zero issues. With a light or midweight fleece (a la Patagonia R1), I was plenty comfortable in temperatures ranging from 20 to -10. I wouldn't recommend standing around in a moist/humid environment as I cannot speak to the water resistance of this jacket, but for dry activities in freezing temperatures I couldn't recommend this product more. I had doubts about the spandex style wrists but am a convert. Runs slightly large, I am 6'2'' and weigh 185 and a large fit well if not a little loose.

I never even considered purchasing the Atom LT until a cold snap came along here in the Kootenays, and I decided that it was time to purchase a proper insulating layer to pair with my Sidewinder shell. As someone who overheats constantly, I assumed this would be a piece that I would only use during cold temp days. I was so very wrong! I take my Atom LT Hoody with me everywhere. It's perfectly breatheable under my shell, and I stay warm and cozy on windy chair lift rides. When I'm snowshoeing or cross country skiing, it is the perfect outer layer, and the stretchy panels under the arms help regulate my temperature. I ball it up and stuff it in purse for when I need an extra snuggle layer at work, and I reach for it constantly for afternoon walks or shovelling. It is soft enough to wear against my skin and sheds water fairly well, so I expect it will be my go-to outer layer for clear to drizzly spring days. The only think I would add is a draw cord around the hood to tighten it down in windy conditions. The Atom LT Hoody is truly a 3-season piece. I don't know how I ever did without one. Everyone needs one.

My first Arcteryx purchase!!! The day I tried this jacket on, I was hooked. It is so light and comfortable. Like crawling into a cozy bed. I bought this jacket for its layering capabilities under my goose down coat. With our coldest winter in many years, this jacket has proven to be a wonderful addition to my outerwear arsenal. The side panels are great for releasing body heat when you're trudging through snow or exerting oneself. My favorite design feature is when it is fully zipped up, the chin area is "roomy", and allows for easy coverage of my face when the wind picks up. Can't wait to add more Arcteryx pieces to my collection. Great product-great brand!

This is my new favorite jacket! Lightweight, but warm! Love the way the hood fits also. I haven't washed it yet, but I love the fact that I can and should throw it in the dryer!

I have used this brilliant jacket for over 3 years now, and have used it in every season from summer nights to cold winter days. Pair it with a nice phase top and it works as a stand alone outer layer, never too hot thanks to the side panels. Used it as a mid layer for skiing, winter mountaineering and it kept me toasty warm. It is my go to jacket for any activity.

Firstly, let me start by saying I bought this amazing jacket 1 year ago. I got it on sale but I would buy it full price in a second now that I have tried it. Please watch my video for full review and to see the sizing. It is a size large and I am 6 feet and 185lbs. Purpose: this jacket is meant to be a lightly insulated spring/fall jacket, or to be used in high output cold weather activities. I have used it in both situations and it excels in each. Insulation/warmth: the 60 grade coreloft is warm for it's weight. They say that it retains heat even when wet, but I have yet to test this as I usually pair it with my Theta SV if there is a chance of showers. This jacket will not keep you warm in temperatures below 0 degrees celcius if you are just using it for casual wear. When you pair it with a fleece and baselayer, you can get by at 0 C. Breathability: highly breathable. The panels on the sides of the torso and armpits allows you to dump excess heat in high output activities. This feature can work against you if you are using it for casual activities and the wind picks up, as the wind will blow right through this material. Cuffs: these are perfect. They are tight around your wrist, but made with such a soft, and stretchy material that they are super comfortable. They make it easy to use this under a hardshell, as well as using gloves that slide overtop. Hood: this hood will keep you warm when you need it. It could be improved by making some draw strings to synch it down. If the wind is in your face, it will fill up. Fit: I bought the size Large. I was on the fence between a large and medium but went with the large so I can layer with it. The hip draw strings allow me to synch it at the bottom so it doesn't look too big at all. Pockets: great, fleece lined pockets. 1 inside pocket. Water resistance: the DWR on my jacket wore off quickly. Other than light drizzle, I would not wear this in rain. I usually have a hardshell with me so not a problem, but don't buy this jacket with expectations that it will keep you dry in wet weather.

This is a great jacket, really nice as a mid layer, or stand alone. The medium fits great on me (5'9", 160lb athetic build), as I prefer a trim, athletic fit. It's maybe a tiny bit big in the body, but I'm not complaining. I love the texture of the fabric, feels different than most of my other jackets. The finish is perfect as a mid layer, as this is not going to stick or pull while putting an outer shell on. I like the tight fitting "butter cuff" as they are sometimes called. Some people may not like the look of the cuffs, but they are only about an inch wide, but are very thin and soft on the wrist. The jacket is very lightweight, and is not too bulky. It does have a little bulk to it, but again, it's not going to cause a problem as a mid layer. The sides of the jacket are a different, stretchier material, but in the color I have (previous season "bison" color) I can hardly notice it. One small complaint is the hood and zipper. The hood seems to not lay right all the time when not being used, and it sometimes gets in the way when I use it as a mid layer (flops around a bit). Also, for some reason, the zipper doesn't seem to lock. Especially when zipped up almost all the way, you can easily pull the jacket apart from the sides, you don't have to pull the zipper. It doesn't come down by itself, but it seems odd that it would happen at all. Overall, the minor complaints make this a 4.5 star jacket, but I'll round up because I do like it so much.

This is a wonderful jacket! Arcteryx fits well through the body but not too tight - it runs true to size. The longer length does not ride up when you sit. It has longer sleeves and a comfortable fit around the wrists. This is a versatile layering or stand alone jacket. It has a soft and beautiful lining color.

I was looking for an ultimate mid layer jacket for both sport activities and casual all-rounder. This jacket has it all and even more. It's amazingly light, packable and warm. Both inside and outside materials are very nice to touch and the fit is awesome. I am 187cm, 85kg, 105cm chest. Large fits perfectly for use as a mid-layer but for casual wear I went for an XL and it fits great for using as a mid-layer under my hardshell or as a stand-alone piece. Not buggy at all I have ordered the Heron color and it's awesome. But be aware the hood liner which looks yellow on the picture is actually green. A very nice apple-green fresh color, but not yellow. It's also true for the inner fabric. I've only used it in temperatures between 0 - +15 Celsius and it feels great and comfy. The jacket breathes extremely well. Hope it will perform great in a colder conditions as well.

This jacket is just that, stupendous. I have previous experience with pieces similar (in theory) to the Atom LT claiming to be equally as good. Boy, are they wrong. I originally purchased this jacket when I was living in Montana and it treated me so incredibly well. The first day I got it, I somehow managed to spill coffee all over it, and to my surprise the liquid beaded off. No absorption, and days later I didn't smell like sour milk! It serves as a perfect midlayer when winter biking, cool weather climbing, hiking or whatever you get yourself into. The jacket is awesome on its own when doing aerobic activities. It's my "go-to" cool weather climbing layer. I now live in New England where the weather is much more wet and fussy, and my Atom LT remains my #1 most diverse (and favorite) jacket. The orange color is mint. Best purchase, ever. My only complaint is this: there needs to be a bit more room to move in the chest area. Unlike most outdoor companies, Arc'teryx has their women's fit dialed - so I was a little surprised when I popped this on and it was a wee bit tight across the chest. (For reference, I'm 5'2 112 pounds, and a bit busty). However, I will say this: an immobilizing sports bra makes a big difference. Additionally (as mentioned in previous reviews) this jacket is a magnet for dirt. So if you're going to purchase a color that may or may not show all the love, grit and grime, remember to wear that dirt proud!

I tried several different jackets, and this one fit and looked the best. It's a keeper! I'm 5'4" and 105lbs., have an hourglass shape, and am slightly bigger through the hips than the chest/shoulder area. I ordered a size small, and it fits perfectly. The length of the jacket is just right...not short and not long either. It's light, but warm for it's weight, and the stretch panels on the sides make it breathable and more comfy. The drawstring at the bottom allows you to keep out drafts. The jacket looks nice, and I can actually wear it to work in addition to general use and outdoor use. I've been a Patagonia fan for years, but their new sizing and designs don't seem to fit me very well. I've had much better luck with Arcteryx lately.

I love this jacket. It fits my figure well because of the stretch material on the sides, is so lightweight and warm. Feels like you are surrounded with invisible warmth. Great in the autumn as is, and easily fits under my other jackets (including Sting Ray board jacket). Easy to care for. I am 5'4" about 118lbs and I have a small. The hood fits perfectly - let's you look around while being covered. JUST LOVE IT!

As you can guess from my title, I call this jacket my Magic Jacket. It is wonderful! This jacket keeps you warm when it needs to, and keeps you comfortable when it is warmer outside, I'm not sure how it achieves this, but it must be magic. I highly recommend anyone wavering over whether or not to get this jacket to go for it! You will not regret it.

I just received my hoody in the mail last week, just in time for the temperatures to drop below freezing. I bought this as a mid-layer but also to wear alone when the weather is decent but cool. So far I absolutely love this thing and it was worth every penny! It is super thin and light weight, wind resistant and water repellant. The hood is a little loose but stays on your head even with the wind howling. With just a thin long sleeved shirt underneath I was warm in -10C windchill today and was nice and warm in winds and rain on the weekend (and hail!), but not too hot thanks to the breathable fleece. I am absolutely delighted with my purchase and may even break down and buy another one in a size smaller to really fit under my hard shells. As it is, because I wanted to wear it as a stand-alone piece, and I was in between sizes, I went for the bigger size so I could wear other layers underneath. This company tends to make things pretty snug, so if you want to be able to wear something underneath and you're between sizes, I recommend sizing up. Overall, I highly recommend this product!

This is a really, really good piece of design and craftmanship. It can be used in the city, with a classy touch or on your mountain ascent. I live in the arctic circle in Norway, and it is perfect for spring and autumn usage. I love the details and quality. The seams are perfect (some jackets have bad seaming) and the insulation is wonderful. The materials are so comfortable that this is my "go-to-jacket" for most cases. For colder conditions (-10>) I use heavy-duty down-jackets. If I would recommend this jacket? YES. The "bang-for-buck" is really good with this jacket! If you are obsessed with quality and form-factor - this is the jacket for you!

It's a great jacket that I've been wearing it almost daily for a year now. It's a very reliable piece considering that it maintains thermal efficiency when wet. My only complaint would be that the salesperson upsold the insulation capacity of this jacket, but that is hardly Arc'teryx fault. If you are aware that this will not be sufficient in colder seasons then it is a really great jacket.

This jacket is my absolute favorite. Most of the time I'll wear it with a light fleece underneath for winter weather and that's enough for me. Definitely pleasant to wear during the Fall months. It's perfect for a cool hike in the mountains. Keeps me really warm while I'm moving. The only gripe I may have with it is the cuffs are a bit too tight if you're wanting to wear gloves.

Possibly my favorite Arc'teryx item. Provides excellent warmth, lightweight and packs pretty small. The outer is pretty durable, although I got mine ripped when it got stuck behind a piece of iron sticking out a fence... Can't blame the jacket for that. The tear did not rip any further during washing and the continued use of the jacket. I use the Atom LT when I take the dog out for a quick walk, when I am climbing/trekking, when I am sitting at base camp or when I need to warm up in my sleeping bag... Truly an excellent allround piece!

This jacket is absolutely killer. i bought it to replace a Patagonia piece that i trashed in a dirtbike wreck. that piece used 60g Primaloft insulation, and was quite warm. that jacket was my go-to piece, and i rarely left home without it here in northern Colorado. my Atom LT (i got it in cayenne) has been incredible so far! although it has the same insulation weight, this jacket is much warmer than the 60g Primaloft in my old Patagonia nanopuff. the hood is great and the stretchy piping material around the cuff makes it stay up nice and snug near the collar when the hood is not in use. i love the weather resistance and overall toughness of the face fabric, a big step over the Patagonia. The sleeves are nice and slim, without being tight or constricting anywhere. This, along with the ingenious elastic wrist cuffs make it a perfect layering piece. it slides under my MH Victorio shell like it's not even there. The torso is a perfect fit, it almost feels tailored. the design overall of this jacket is just amazing. there's a ton of attention to fine detial. the recessed pocket zips for the waist pockets, for instance. the fleece panels for ventilation make the underarms very comfortable, although sometimes i feel they let in too much wind when used as a standalone piece. this is most prevalent when riding my motorcycle, though much of that has to do with riding position and having semi-raised arms. i only have two cons with this jacket: the main zipper comes down easily (this could be remedied with a zipper "garage" at the top of the zipper), and the ventilation panels are a bit large. other than those small issues, which not everybody has i am sure, i would highly recommend this product.

This jacket is so comfortable, the moment you put it on it feels like you can just curl up and die peacefully. The fit is great and its kinda windproof as well. Its very mildy water resistant, though I wouldn't count on it to keep me dry. Size L fits perfect under my size L Beta FL hardshell. Theres one minor negative and that's the earlier mentioned zipper; with the tiniest amount of stress, the zipper opens. Arc'teryx should fix this with their next update, can be quite annoying when used as a mid layer.

I took the Atom LT on an Everest Base Camp trek and was totally impressed. It's warm, yet breathable and sheds water easily. The fit is perfect in XL - I'm 198cm (6'6'') and 98kg (215lbs). It fit well under my Alpha SV and was practical both on the trail and in tea houses. Thinking of buying another!
