Great shoe, great classic look. I have over 30 pairs of Jack Purcell's so I obviously love them. My problem with this line is the cork footbeds. They look cool but the functionality is lacking. They are really sticky to socks which makes it difficult to slide your foot in and out of the shoe.

Really cute and more supportive & comfortable than similar Converse styles, but they definitely run large. I wear a 9 and ordered an 8.5 and still found them a bit big.

Cute! I had ordered several pairs of Converse. I returned the others. This was the only pair that didn't make my feet look gigantic. Not a lot arch support, but that's Converse. Stripe reddish color very cute. Lots of compliments, "where did you get those?"

These shoes have gotten many compliments, fit true to size, great materials, BUT unfortunately they are not comfortable. They took a few weeks of break-in time. The back of the shoes and the sides below the ankle bones are too high and the fabric is hard so it digs into my ankle bone and the back of the leg/feet and hurt a lot. To me, that's a design flaw. Even after the break-in time with the fabric softened up, I still can't wear them for over a few hours without hurting. I have semi-wide feet, and the front rubber cap of the shoes is too narrow, so again, hurt a lot. The cork insoles also create a squeaky sound when your feet and socks become moist, which I find undesirable. I've kept them for short periods of wear, and because I've already worn them. The canvas version would be more comfortable, and more common, but this material is unique.

Back they go. I found these shoes to be very oddly fitting - perhaps because they are unisex? Felt very big and floppy and hit my foot in all of the wrong places.

I ordered these and the "original" Jack Purcells. I couldn't find anywhere where they talked about the difference between the two... and they are like 30 bucks different. So I ordered both.. I liked these less that the regular Jack's. It seemed that these were a tiny bit wider than the regular pair... and just didn't look as cute on my foot. The canvas is stiffer for this pair, and not quite as bright a white. They were almost identical except for the two differences mentioned. I took a picture of them side by side, which says a thousand words, but I don't think they allow for pictures on this website's review section. The regular Jacks just had more style, looked cuter on the foot. These Ox style were sturdier canvas... maybe as a reaction to all the people who wrote to say the new jacks were not made as well. They are adorable, I am thrilled with them (the other ones!!). I accidentally clicked on 5 stars for style and they wouldn't let me change it!! I didn't wear them long enough to comment on comfort, but you had to!

I loved the "old-school" look of these shoes. I wanted to love to wear them. I tried about 10 times. They are just too heavy and uncomfortable.

I can say, without a doubt, that these are the least comfortable shoes I've ever worn in my life. Within an hour of putting these on and walking around, the backs of my ankles were torn up from the rigid material that forms the back of these shoes. I wear Converse All-Stars fairly regularly, and had a pair of Jack Purcell Converse many years ago that I loved, and have never had a problem like this. Even through long socks, I can feel these shoes chafing my skin (admittedly, the socks were pretty thin, but who wants to wear thick socks with summer(ish) shoes like these?) Super disappointed that I wore these around and didn't send them back right away, since now I'm stuck with them. I'd avoid these at all costs. Yes, they do look good, but what difference does it make if they're basically torture shoes?

Ouch! After eight blocks I developed blisters on the back of my ankles (two blocks it started hurting bad). Breaking it in would do no good, leather is very stiff and will stay stiff. This is my second JP and compared to my very old pair, I am quite disappointed on the quality and because these are unisex, they will look like clown shoes on a female (bulky). Just get yourself regular walking cushioned sneakers if you plan to walk more than two blocks. It is sad how Converse price their products so high but produce very low quality shoes. This will be the last Converse I will ever buy.
