I really love this bag. Incredibly spacious for a carry-on compliant bag. Lightweight, even when loaded up. The exterior access for one side of the clamshell function was great for jacket and shoe storage, especially for easy access once in a colder climate. Expandable construction means it is very difficuly to run out of space. Great for a 3-5 day trip.

Another great Timbuk2 bag, our third. This smaller one does actually fit in the overhead bin, very happy with the look and feel of this one.

I've used this a couple times now. I LOVE the skateboard wheels! They roll so smoothly and so well. The compartments are so helpful in staying organized. I use packing bags as well which helps to stay orangized even more. I absolutely love the ability to access one compartment through the front. The liquids pouch on the front/top is sooo helpful through TSA. The clamshell design is easy to pack. It's very lightweight. I've checked it and it looks with wonderful coming back. Although it's not a hard case per se, it's VERY tough and durable- the best of both worlds. The handle is super comfortable. I understand the issue with the handle. Definitely feels wobbly and I see how it could break although mine has not.

This bag is well designed, it is clear that a lot of thought and care have been given to it. I was looking for a carry-on bag that I could pack for long trips. This capacity of this bag forces one to make careful decisions about what to bring, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's best use would be as a carry-on for a week long trip.

This suitcase is great. I just took it on a business trip with four changes of clothes, and everything fit. I like the little pouch at the top for easy grabbing of keys, toiletries, phone, etc. My 13" Macbook Air fit in the very front pocket, but it was a tight squeeze. Instead usually I put it in the front flap pocket and that fit well (and was easy to get in and out for TSA). I wasn't sure about size, so I ordered both the small and the medium for comparison. The size difference between the two was hardly noticeable. Ended up keeping the small.

Timbuk2 Loyalist here. I took the copilot for a recent tour around the country doing farm to table dinners and it survived. This little puppy went on all types of terrain from easy airports, dry desserts, green pastures, golden fields, and dirt roads. It was shoved in the back with little room to breath and the easy compartments allowed access to the essentials. I tucked boots away in the top compartment and kept my items organized. The handle on each side comes in handy when you're riding on the tractor or trying to pull it out of the way of a four wheeler. And through all if it, I still looked stylish when we landed at LAX. Don't think twice about this luggage. It's totally worth it.

From Iowa to the middle of the jungle! I got this bag right before our trip to the middle of the jungle to stay in the Dominican Tree House Village. This bag was great it has so much space, be carful not to over pack it as it will get heavy. I have a number of Timbuk2 bags and will not be switching anytime soon.

My first super high quality piece of luggage. My son, who travels a lot, recommended this to me. It is everything and more that he said it was. I am a photographer and needed it to hold a professional quality tripod. It does it beautifully with enough room for my clothes and personal items for a six day trip to Arizona.

I have travelled using this bag for years, on and off planes. Never once failed me. It carries everything for a full 1 week business trip + my running gear. Holds more than any other carry-on I have tried. Once had to replace handle and wheels, but that was easy to do. Unscrew the old one and put on the new set. For the price there is simply nothing better.

Only detraction is it arrived smelling of cigarette smoke. It dissipated after a few days but my clothes also smelled of cigarettes until I washed them. Otherwise, I've taken it on 3, week-long business trips and have been pleased with its capacity of three shirts and two pair of slacks, underwear, toiletries, etc.

I can not say anything negative about this luggage. It's sexy, strong, cleverly designed, and much more. I use this suitcase for all occasions. I love the color scheme and fabric. My favorite element are the amazing pockets. You can pack in a way that makes accessing your "need now" items easy to get to without opening up the whole case.

I use this roller every time I travel whether it be an overnight or a 2 week vacation (size M). I've owned mine for 3 years, have used it a couple of times per month, and checked it through on numerous international flights. It still looks great and all parts work perfectly. Things I love: The handle slides up and down easily and is sturdy. Wheels are so smooth making the bag feel lighter as you roll it. Packing spaces are designed sparely and smartly so that stuff stays organized. The "outside" access to grab a jacket or put one away without needing to open the bag Top zippered pouch for quick toiletries access in airport security check Overall durability I have now purchased 4 more of these rollers for family members... a true testimony to my satisfaction!

I loved my leather trimmed 22 inch carry-on with matching tote. It had two features the 20 inch copilot doesn't have: - The pullout handle has 2 different locking points--I use the shorter length since I am only 5'1". The handle also feels much sturdier--there is no sideways movement when extended. - There is a detachable zip-up garment sleeve so suits/dresses can be on hangers and packed with very little creasing. However it was very difficult to close the overhead bin when my old carry-on was in it. It was also heavy. The 20 inch copilot is light and stores easily in the overhead bin. I used Eagle Creek's ultra light packing cubes and folder to organize my bag. The copilot and under seat tote were my only luggage for a 10 day European trip in November. I was able to pack boots, athletic shoes, flats, heels, 3 pairs of pants/jeans, 3 silk shirts, 1 skirt, 3 cashmere sweaters, tights, socks, underwear, long underwear, pyjamas, long down coat, goretex coat, ipad, iphone, chargers, handbag, 2 guidebooks and personal care items. My husband had to check his 22" Tumi on Lufthansa but I was fine. The weight limit is 17.6# so heavy stuff was in tote.

This luggage is great. I managed to "carry on" the 22-inch version on an international flight. It did fit in the overhead compartment. On my return flight, at the gate, I was asked if I would like to check the bag... which I did since it was free. Well made. Easy to pack and access. Love it.

I just returned from 3 weeks in Spain, Germany and France. Before I left I was worried that the Copilot would not fit into overhead bin. It is obviously so much larger than other carryons. It fit perfectly into every airline I flew in Europe. No flight attendant asked me to check it either. The bag is heavy, but I could lift it overhead with no problem. There are only 2 wheels, which give you more capacity for clothes in your bag, but you might miss having the spinner wheels if you are used to those. Overall, I was very happy with this bag on my trip. It is the only suitcase I took and I had more than enough space.

I'm in love with the little touches that only a seasoned traveller could understand. If I'm traveling for 5 days or less - this is my bag. Compartments really hold everything beautifully. I can place objects that I need to get to on a plane when it's in the overhead rack - without removing it! Need a change without a hotel? It has a special unzip section for a quick change in a bathroom. Roller wheels are super smooth and the handle? It holds my laptop bag beautifully. Recommending this to everyone I know

I replaced my 15 year old carry on with this suitcase. The previous suitcase was comparably heavy and a little too wide to fit into the overhead bin when fully stuffed. I considered the medium and the small size. I'm very happy I went with the small. It fits perfectly into the bin and holds more than my previous suitcase. The zippers are tight, but are perfectly functional. The internal organization flaps and pockets are great. The top outside zipper is perfect for the security checkpoints. I can swap my liquids for a belt, cell phone and wallet in a matter of seconds. Time will tell if it holds up to use. I think it will be fine, but I suspect it will need to be replaced for wear and tear but I feel I'm going to enjoy my time with it.

I waited and waited for this to go on sale and I am so pleased I bought this bag. Used it for a 5 day trip as my carry on bag and it is sturdy, easy to pack and surprisingly has a TON of space. I like that both sections of the bag zip individually so everything stays in place. Very intelligent bag that makes packing a DREAM

I travel several times a year to visit family, as well as to Europe. In both cases, both as a carry on and a check through, this suitcase fits the bill. It is sturdy, light, tough, looks great and is designed with a traveller in mind. I can access what I need and somehow, no matter how fillet seems I can always fit a little more. Timbuk2 is the best - in terms of style design, durability I now buy no other.

I purchased my first Copilot two years ago. It works will for my 6'6'' frame. I don't have to lean over to pull. That's important. My wife, a business traveler, started to borrow it, since her old classic carry-on is RIP. So I purchased another to get mine back. Then my daughter who starts college travel this past year, borrows mine. I want it back, so I have to buy a THIRD. My first is the original design, I like it a little better than the new version. My wife does too. So I sacrificed and she get's that one. I can handle the new design. I always bring more than what I need to wear for 3-4 day travel. It all fits. Stows easily in the airline overhead, and that plus being light weight durable, are the main reasons my family owns three. I'll buy again soon for my 13 year old son. Right now his old carry-on works fine.

The compartments make it so easy to pack and stay organized! If this bag had the 360 wheels and some more design elements to make it look different than other black bags at the airport (the color I wanted was out of stock), this bag would be absolutely perfect. Love it!
