This bag's zipper broke under warranty due to the zipper being under spec'd for the type of bag (a commuter). Paid $25 to ship (while under warranty) and now it has been two months and I still do not have a bag. Got an email about a month ago saying the bag was repairable and it'll be shipped soon. Well it hasn't been. Now I just tried to call them and after being on hold for 10+ minutes I got a recording that said they were unavail and to email them. I'll never buy something that I need to rely on from Timbuk2 again.

I bought the bag just 2 years ago. After using it for a year, the bag starts to wear out. I had written email to timbuk2 and all their reply on the life warranty is that i send the back to san franc..The means that you will have to pay additional money to send the bag over and back.. Morale of the story... If you are an oversea buyer and thinking that lifetime warranty will be covered.. think again before buying... I've got 3 bags from timbuk2.. i really feel regret buying from them...

No compartment for paperwork, only one exceedingly large compartment for my laptop. Too large for my female frame - the straps are rough and rub. This is the big one: not even water resistant. I rode 30 minutes in the rain. Water made it into every compartment. The top zippered pouch gets drenched in even the lightest rain. The TimBuk2 response to my complaint was a recommendation that I spend additional money to purchase their rain cover.

I use this bag to commute almost every day to work. The reason I selected the Especial Medio after a lot of research was the size and the fact that it was waterproof. I was assured by the sales person at the store that it would keep the water out. It is also clearly stated on the website. This backpack is not waterproof! Maybe water-resistant at best. Today was a rainy day, one that requires a waterproof bag. My commute is around 50min. My cloths in the bag were wet! My laptop was wet and the screen is ruined!!! Do not buy this backpack if you are looking for something waterproof!
