i absolutely love these chucks !! these are probably my 15th pair, but who's counting. these particular chucks have a different feel to them, the material feels really soft and of high quality. i got the yellow. true to size unlike other chucks I own. nobody wears this shoe for the arch support, if you want arch support maybe you should check out some clarks. i will totally purchase these again, same style. love em to pieces !!!

This is my second pair of these converse that I ordered. I had the first pair for over a year and used them pretty much everyday. Way more comfortable and better quality than original chuck’s. There are two different versions though. My first pair I used did not have removable insoles. The new version has removable insoles that seem like they have a bit more cushion. I would say go true to brannock size. I measure 9 1/2 on brannock and usually wear 10 in athletic shoes. 10 is too long 9 1/2 worked for me. I have wide feet so can be little narrow at first but stretch out a bit. I like that insoles are removable now so I can maybe use different insole if needed. Highly recommend them.

The All Stars 70 are MUCH superior to the modern all stars. The outer sole is much thicker with a gloss. It’s much more comfortable then the modern all stars. The canvas feels very durable and heavy duty. Very vintage vibe to the shoe. Great shoe in all.

I have these and the Chuck Taylor All Star Hi Core. In both I wear a Women’s 7 Men’s 5. My regular shoe size is a 7.5 except in these and Chaco Z1 sandals. So, the 7 in these feel good too. The toe on these feels a little more narrow and slightly pinchy, but still comfy. The footbed on these is more cushy, but I like both footbeds (these and the All Star Hi Core). I did notice that these pull my socks down whereas the Hi Cores do not pull the. Down at all. I really like these. I like the color too (field surplus, egret amd black). The rubber on these is more of an off white as oppose to the bright white on the hi core. Love them both.

Love these ‘All Star’ 70’s. Well made, they feel like they will last, my custom arch supports slipped straight in for a perfect fit.

These shoes are very true to the original Chuck's that I wore way back when in High School. I appreciate the arch support, however, it is kind of minimal. The shoes are way more supportive than the lighter weight Chucks since the canvas uppers are quite a bit thicker. It'll be interesting to see how they feel after being broken in for a while. The rubber toe shell and side bumpers are also thicker than the regular Chucks and feel much more substantial underfoot. One the first things I noticed is how much better the eyelets look on these shoes. I had never even thought about that item on the shoes until I compared both the regular and '70's Chucks side-by-side. I did find that the shoes run about a half-size large, so keep that in mind when ordering. I love these kicks.

These don't fail you! They have much sturdier support in the sole and arch than I remember converse having back in the day (80's and 90's). The rubber being a slightly cream colour is so aesthetically appealing!

Got these for my bf and he likes them. Just the standard chucks; the rubber has a yellow tint and the shoes seem very well made. He wears them all the time and they go well with most of his clothes. Canvas chucks, not water proof, versatile and pretty standard. This is better than the cheaper version, they are heavier than the cheaper version; sturdier.

Great shoe. I cannot recommend the 70s Chuck enough, they're that great. Pay the difference and get these vs the cheaper versions. They are leaps and bounds a higher quality shoe. The canvas is better, soles are thicker, footbed has arch support and the eyelets will not discolor the laces. These are the Chucks we remember from the 70s and 80s.

These shoes are by far the comfiest converse I have ever worn. I started noticing frequent lower back pain when wearing the regular converse and looked everywhere for a alternative. I tried Dr. Martens (too chunky and heavy), Vans (nice but just didn't feel like me) and even Adidas Sambas (not bad but too narrow). I ended up buying a pair of the skater version of the Converse All Stars. They were great but came apart after 2 years of wear. I finally came across these on reddit and fell in love. They fit similar to standard all stars but actually have a insole. I can now stand and walk in real Converse all day without any issues. Would highly recommend spending the extra cash on these.

A well-worth it throwback version of my favorite shoe of all time. Heavy canvas that has to be broken in, real rubber sole and a cushy interior. The only thing detracting from a perfect score is those way too long laces. Buy them in your regular Chucks size, which for me is a whole size smaller.

I'm really impressed by the Chuck 70 and think they are worth the extra money. Quality feels significantly better in pretty much every way. Sizing on chucks is in general a bit tricky. My true measured shoe size is an 11.5, sometimes 12. I have normal feet and need a 10.5 in these (full size down). They fit long and narrow, so they may not work best for wide footers. With that being said, Zappos is amazing with returns/exchanges to help you find the right size. These things are a classic and look so good, with added comfort and really nice quality in the '70' version!
I'd also recommend:

Compared to the non-70s style, these seem significantly more durable, feel about half a size too big, and the same width. Aesthetically, they’re similar to each other with some nuances as you can see in the pictures. The footbed is more padded than the “new” version so that’s good or bad depending on what you plan on doing in these shoes. For example, they have much better cushioning so they may not work as well for squats, but they work rather well for all around training with some leg routines. Definitely worth a try if you love the current ones but need a bit more cushioning/comfort.

Bought these for my 20 something son who is somewhat of a Converse connoisseur. He says the toe bumper and other rubber parts are firmer/less rubbery than usual and the canvas is slightly stiff. This is not a problem just a difference between these and the usual Chuck Taylor. He likes that the logo is black and white rather than blue and red. Like all Converse he's had over the years, these run about 1/2 a size large.

I read a lot of reviews before buying because I couldn’t figure out the sizing. Many reviewers said to size down, and the site says size down by half. A couple women with my size said they’re true to size. I went to the Converse website, which has a sizing chart based on actual measurements. According to that I was supposed to size up. It made no sense. I am usually 7 and sometimes 7.5, usually the larger size with sneaker brands. I went 7, or men’s 5. I just got a 7.5 in Vans and so thought maybe they might just be a half size smaller than that brand. In the early 90s I borrowed a friend’s all stars in a 5 and those fit perfectly. Just got these and they are enormous. At least a half size large if not a whole size. Can’t figure out why they wouldn’t just make shoes that are true to size and that are consistent with their own measurements - their own info had me buy the wrong size. Thankfully Zappos is great on returns and exchanges but it’s such a wasteful process (Converse not Zappos). These look great and I already like them. Something would have to be pretty bad with the exchanged pair for me to give a lower rating.

By far the best Chuck Taylors ever! Purchased these to wear while riding my Harley and they have certainly held up well. They are much more comfortable than regular Chucks and are more solid. The fit is as with all Chucks (IMO) one half size too large. The only reason for 4 stars is the heavy duty laces broke in my hand after a few months of light wear. Zappos went out of their way (as always) to make it right!

Compared to regular Chucks, the big differences are double thickness on the canvas (enough that the uppers easily stand up on their own when empty) and some additional reinforcing canvas patches on the inside. They do replicate a few features of the 1970s shoes like the style of the toe cap and foxing, but they also have some anachronistic details (like the stitching color and a modern heel patch) that make them a unique style rather than an actual replica. The thicker canvas does make these shoes more durable and increases the ankle support, unlike the virtually paper-thin modern shoes. The one downside that brings them down a star is the laces. The laces are a good 10 inches longer than what come with typical shoes, which makes tying them in a bow or wrapping them around your ankle mandatory to avoid extremely long loops or ends that are stepped on and dirtied. They're nice cotton instead of nylon, but still too long.

I purchased the item in April of 2016, in a cream color high top and a size 8 in womens. They were exactly true to size and I am very happy with them! Being a light color, I was worried that the shoes would get dirty quick, but with a little maintenance they still look new! The shoes are so cute and casual, and they look good with pretty much anything (even dresses!). They don't really have any arch support so I wouldn't recommend wearing them if you are doing a lot of walking. Overall, they are a classic shoe and I would definitely purchase them in more colors!
