I bought these for my husband. He really liked them but will be reordering a half size larger as they ran a bit small.

Fantastic shoe for outdoor and indoor. Nice stiff sole that does not create fatigue and the stiff sole allows for micro edging.

I wear a size 15 normally, and the size 14s fit me fine. I tried a size 14 climbing shoe from 5 10 and it fit more like a 13. Very uncomfortable and too brutal a bend to my toes and foot. However, the size 14 in this shoe fit much looser, but I'm new to the hobby so that's okay for me. The sole seems very tacky. In the future, I'd stay true to my size for the 5 10s and scale down a size and a half for the scarpas. Once again, I'm new to the hobby and these are my first climbing shoes so take this review with a grain of salt.

Excellent shoe for outdoor climbing. Torsional stiffness allows to edge on tiny footholds while they flex in the forefoot for slab climbs. These are climbing shoes so size, width and support aren't applicable, in my opinion.

Excellent climbing shoe for multi-pitch or warmup. Extremely comfortable for long periods of time. The shoe is quite stiff, but not as stiff as TC Pros. Sizing is typical for Scarpa, which is true to actual size and doesn't seem adjusted for the tightness of climbing shoes. The tensioned rand works as Scarpa says, so the heel is relaxed when the foot is, and tightens when standing on the toes. Stretch is virtually non-existent lengthwise and typical for a leather shoe along the width. Only major improvement this shoe could use is a speed lacing system. Ignore the negative review given previously, it seems that it came from someone who didn't even know he was buying climbing shoes.

I just want to respond to the review above; I don't work for Scarpa but I am a fan of their shoes. These are rock climbing specific shoes, they are not meant to be walked around in. The natural environment for these shoes is vertical, not horizontal. Climbers typically wear a second pair of shoes to get to and from the cliffs, and change into these for the rock climb only. They are meant to fit like a gloves with no air space around the foot anywhere so that when you are standing on small rock edges they won't roll on your foot. The Techno is an all-around climbing shoe, which is what they mean by "all-day comfort" but this does not mean they are comfortable compared to any typical athletic shoe.

These shoes are an absolute disaster. I ordered 11½ even though I normally wear a size 11. When I opened the box, they appeared to be boys shoes. I got a replacement order of the same shoes at 12½. They did not work either. The third try was a shipment of a size 13. That was still too small! I took them to my shoemaker who has been in business 30 years. He said they were incredibly small and would not even fit his size 8½ feet. He said they could not be stretched either in width or length because of the material used on the shoe. After three tries they were still about 1" too short and a C width instead of a D width. I returned them for a full refund. This was very disappointing as they are nice looking athletic shoes.
