Perfect "everything" shoes. Good for hot summer walks, hiking, snow, and swimming in rivers and lakes. They dry quickly and my dog has never tried to fight them off. FYI - make sure to put them on and immediately take them on a walk so they get acclimated.

I'm in a very snowy clime so I got these to prevent the salt and snow from hurting my dogs. My dogs are a Maltese and Pomeranian/Shih Tzu. I measured them (the way the Ruffwear website tells you to) and got the smallest size available for them. The shoes were bigger than I expected. You really have to latch them on very tightly, otherwise, it seems to feel awkward for the dog, plus they fall off. Once I got used to putting them on the dogs and got them velcroed properly, the dogs didn't seem to mind them at all. The shoes did get a little wet on top. But overall I liked them. And no hurt doggy paws. Oh, and the shoes make a cute clip-clop sound so these are definitely not for stealth.

For the Giant Breed Owners I have a Great Dane, not even 2 years old so tons of energy - got him the size 3", let's say by the time he jumped up he managed to flip off all 4, reason being I couldn't get them around the width of the paw. I'm going to try a 3.25" but not sure they make these big enough for my boy.

Charlie was completely unsure of the booties but he got used to them pretty quickly. They looked well made but unfortunately they slipped off of his feet before we could even get outside. Charlie has very slim ankles and a small paw so I wasn't surprised. Unfortunately they didn't work out and I'll have to return them. If your dog has a larger paw compared to his/her legs then these will probably work for you.The velcro fastener makes it very easy to adjust the sizing above the paw. The rubber sole would definitely protect against slipping. Also, don't forget to have your video camera handy when your dog first walks in them. ;)

Bought these boots for my 5 year old silky terrier because of the extreme cold. Got the 1.5 inch size the boot looks very well made. Its function is horrible, took 10 minutes to get them on and they didn't stay on his feet more than 20 seconds. I will be returning.
