This is a great dog jacket. It provides wind protection and warmth without bulk and with a very soft and comfortable fit on the dog. The fabric has a high-tech, high-quality look and feel. My dog is a 68 pounf male shepherd mix of athletic and relatively slender build (shelter dog, unknown lineage, but looks exactly like a Belgian Malinois). His measurements are 30" chest, 17" neck, 27" length. The medium (indicated by the size chart) fit him like a wetsuit - too short and tight on his front legs. Large is comfortable on his body as well as long enough to cover his back. I should mention he has a Ruffwear overcoat as well, but for that style large is too big around the neck and chest. So he wears a medium overcoat which just does not cover his whole back. I hope this helps with sizes. I highly recommend this jacket.

Overall, this seems like a great jacket for my short haired doggies to get outside and enjoy winter. The bottom is made of a stretchy material, so they can move easily, but the top colored portion is made of a wind and waterproof fabric. The only feedback I have is that I bought both the green and the black, and the green seems to run much larger than the black.

I bought this in the medium and large. The medium fits my girl very well - more fitted than she would normally wear, but it's not tight, and she can run in it, and move fine (in general). She looks adorable, too! She is a ~50lb Pitbull/Boston Terrier mix, if that helps other people with sizing - she has a long body, with a deep set chest, and a very muscular build.

I bought the large in green for my 80 pound Golden Retriever and it fit perfect. My dog had surgery to remove a mass near his armpit and I needed something to both protect the incision and keep him warm when he goes outside since they shaved a large area of his fur. Even after he's all healed and the fur grows back I'll still use it in in snowy and rainy weather to keep at least a portion of his body dry. It also prevents snow balls from forming on his belly when playing in the snow. My dog isn't a fan of wearing clothing, but once he's outside he doesn't even notice it. It is staticky when I take the coat off him, but otherwise I love it- quality material, great fit and design! Wish it came in more colors!

Terrific dog coat. It is apparent from a brief look at the coat that it is well made with quality material. The large size fits my 54lb (24" back measurement) a bit loose, but she balked at the medium size that fit her tight like a wet suit might. She is deep chested (German Shepard - Doberman mix) so if your dog also has a similar athletic build I'd by the next size up. Ordered on December 22 and, true to their word, Zappos had the jacket delivered on Christmas Eve day. Fast, great service and a nice product from Ruffwear.

Good coat for serious dogs Nice and stretchy so it fits my Catahoula really well. I measured her and the size according to the size chart was perfect. She sulked for the first 5 minutes wearing it and then forgot she had it on and now wears it happily. The zipper on and off is very easy. The fabric covers the end of the zipper so it doesn't rub. I'd like a button at the head end to hold the coat together while I line up the zipper. My dog cranes her neck around to "help" and it's harder to line up the zipper when she does that, but that's her not the jacket. I like the jacket fitting close around my dogs body. Some much bulkier jackets let a lot of air in and I don't think they can be as warm.

Perfect for my ground hugging dog who loves to hike and often returns a muddy mess. This will keep most of him clean and dry. His girth measurement is 15 inches. The xxs is supposed to fit dogs with girths up to 17 inches. This was too tight, but the xs is just right.

Our ~20 pound Lhasapoo wears this for the cold winter weather in the Chicago area. It works great! It is definitely worth the money and we constantly receive compliments on it. One of the features I like best is the fact that it covers his belly. We ordered the XS red about a year ago (which they don't seem to have now ) and it is perfect - a little snug but that's the way it needs to be GREAT product!

Hey dachsie owners, this one fits long torso dogs. My 15 lb dachshund terrier mix loves this coat. It is one of the smartest designs I've ever seen: the zipper, the leg holes, very well sewn. Love it.
