Fit and feel great right out of box. Very good looking. Bought for light hiking in Alaska this month, so waterproof was important. Shoe has a low, sleek profile and looks great with shorts and jeans or khakis. This is not for cold temp areas, more for moderately cool to warm climes. Very, very pleased and recommend.

PROS: Good design. Not bulky. Comfortable out of box. Waterproof. Long-lace design makes for a good custom fit to your foot shape. CONS: Little arch support. Shoe flexes in the middle of the shoe rather than at ball of foot. Shoe makes "popping" sound with each step; discovered it was the Goretex lining flexing in/out beneath the insole. Slightly tight in the toe box.

I recently wore a pair of Asolo Agent GV's for three weeks straight on a trip to Chile, Peru and Easter Island. The trip included a four day, 30 mile hike along the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. I tried on 11 other pairs of hiking shoes before I found these. (Thanks, Zappos!) The shoes worked perfectly for me; they are some of the best shoes I've ever owned. The inside stayed dried as we walked through puddles and wet grass and weeds. The soles provided excellent grip as we climbed over wet, mossy steep rocks. The sole was rigid enough to support my flat-ish feet, but never so stiff I felt like I was walking on boards. The width in the toe box was the critical factor for me; my toes never felt squished or cramped. Finally, they are stylish enough I could wear them with dress pants (well, as dress as you can get while hiking) and look presentable at a nice restaurant or evening out. They have become like an old friend, bringing back memories of a wonderful trip each time I look at them. Highly recommended!

I work as a rodeo clown for the local high school, thus I am on my feet for most of my day. Foot work and body awareness are pinnacle, and these shoes provide the grip and ruggedness I prefer. The toe box is slightly large, and you do have to lace up the shoe to get them tight, but otherwise I am happy with them thus far.

My first Asolo was a boot made in Romania. I tried a lot of boots before this Asolo. NONE fit better than Asolo. It was well worth the extra dollars.
I bought this expensive Asolo shoe because of the trust and respect I had for the Asolo brand.
I think what I got was a shoe with the Asolo brand on it but China quality. I think the shoe was made in China. I could not find a made in label. But, willing to bet it came from China. The whole fit of the shoe seem to be 11 medium the size of the Asolo boot and what I normally take. But my foot seemed to move around in the shoe just a little to much, a sloppy 11 medium. A size or width smaller would not help.
I wore the shoe for about 3 hours in the house on carpet and noticed that the fit became more and more sloppy.
Also I noticed that the rubber toe band started to buckle right where it meet the shoe lace.
Which for a shoe that costs this much is not right.
A couple years ago I spoke to a Zamberlan sales rep and was told that the die for the sole of a shoe should only be used maybe 25 to 30 thousand times, or less and then replaced. He said in China the die would not be replace nearly as often and this causes a bad fit for the specific size it is made for.
Bottom line this shoe is not the quality I expected form the Asolo brand and expensive price.

These shoes felt great right out of the box. I bought them for an upcoming month long trip and am still in the process of wearing them in. So far so good. Really like the look of the shoe on my foot.

I was so tired of the junky shoes my husband was wearing so I decided to buy a pair for him myself. These shoes are so beautiful!! He says they feel really good and are true to size. I plan on purchasing another pair in a different color.

I've had these shoes a couple years. They have taken a lot of daily abuse with ease. Sturdy on rough trail terrain and just as good for a stroll to the store. I'm pretty nervous about my next pair of shoes because these have worn so well. If they do earn their price it's in the durability department. The grey color though drab is excellent at not showing dust, dirt, wear and tear.

This my 3rd pair of Asolo low profile hiking shoes have consistently provided the best support and most comfort for those of us 60+ with sore, collapsed arches. Exceptionally well made.

My husband loves these sneakers, he says that they are supportive and comfortable. He wears them every day, for walking or hiking or anything.

Nice looking comfortable shoes. Great for walking in the woods. I use them when I take nature photographs. I also wear them for casual wear. They run 1/2 size small.

Great shoes, very happy with fit, looks, and quality of construction. Zappos service second to none, great return policy I didn't have to use, free shipping upgrade, friendly knowledgeable staff - what's not to like?

Every thing about this shoe is almost perfect: the tongue and final lace was too close to my ankle which made the fit irritating to my feet. One less eyelet for the laces would have made the shoe comfortable.

Asolo nails it again! I've never had a pair of Asolos that weren't my go-to shoes right out of the box! Fantastic product!

A very nice shoe overall. However, my feet get hit and sweat very easily. In these shoes my feet simply got too hot and had to go with something more breathable. A shame as I really liked them otherwise.

Good sturdy pair of hiking shoes. Fit was perfect, but they need a little breaking in. The material is just a bit stiff and they bite into the top of the foot a bit along the top of the toe knuckles. I'm confident that with a little wear that they'll be a go-to pair of shoes for a long time.

These aren't bad but have one fatal flaw. The tongue is stiff and is connected to the sides of the shoe in a "webbing." This webbing has creased on one shoe and pushes down pinching off a vein in my foot. I imagine this isn't a fluke.

Good shoe, but took a lot of break in time. They're pretty inflexible and until they were broken in, they dug into the top of my foot at the bottom of the laces. And I have tough feet. Otherwise, very nice; watertight, pretty lightweight, true to size, and extremely durable. Just don't buy them and expect to put them on and hit the trail for a long hike unless you like a little pain.

I love these shoes for the first month I got them. They however broke one month after owning them. Zappos is letting me return them. $200 for a pair of shoes that broke in one month is no good.
