The smooth fabric fit perfect under my bicycle helmet. You can't really cover your mouth because its smothering, but it did keep my neck warm. Stayed close around my ears also where I always feel the cold wind. There is a cuff around the part that goes around the crown which is nice because I found I could flip it up or down. If only it came in other colors I would have given it 5 stars for style. that sounds silly but I would never wear this without my helmet. I would look like a terrorist!

Very comfortable and thin but insulates well under a snowmobile helmet in sub Arctic temps. No sweating or clamminess. Highly recommend

This is exactly what I wanted and more! I use it skiing and it fits perfectly under my helmet. I really love the aspect that it is more of a hat with a face mask "attachment" than a normal balaclava. Warm and very comfortable.
