A perfectly simple pair of pants. While this 'M' sizing is "a little on the baggy side" it is only a slight negative (for Me) when I take into consideration that they I can wear them over my shorts/long pants. I prefer no pockets on my pants so this was a good selling point for me because I would prefer the cost savings that comes from features that I don't need. The adjustable velcro around the ankles is a great features but would be a greater benefit if they had more Velcro for further adjustability. The noise made when walking indoors while wearing these pants might be a "turn-off" for some people but moments spent indoors wearing these fully waterproof pants should be few for most people. Personally I would take them off (wearing shorts/pants underneath of course) or tell people they are a "static power generation device" that powers my EV bicycle.

Solid product. Stitching is quite durable, fabric is tear resistant. Elastic waist band allows for flexibility for taking pants on/off and allows extra room for sitting and bending over. Only gripes (and they are minor ones) is that 1: there aren't any pockets. Not a huge deal since a jacket can resolve this. 2: no drawstring on waist to seal off any snow. 3: no elastic band or Velcro strap to tie off snow from boot. It's just a straight cuff, much like a pair of jeans. Then again, these aren't in the upper price range with other products, so the price point is just about right for what you get. If you can find these on a site wide sale and don't mind any of the "gripes", then I definitely recommend.

I bought these for an overseas deployment in a rain prone country. I've only used them in the rain a few times, but unlike most other rain pants my legs didn't sweat at all. Columbia says these run large and to consider sizing down. That's partially true in my case. I normally wear a 30x32 or small regular size. So I ordered the the small with a 32 inseam. Well, the waist size is perfect, but the inseam length is more like a 34. I think Columbia should specify why or how these run large. Also, these are very baggy on me, but I'm an athletic build guy so no worries. I can put them on over my boots and it also helps with ventilation. Since these are a bit longer than usual I have to wear them above the waist of my duty pants. Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but these pants don't have pockets or access cutouts so it's a bit difficult getting to things. It would also be a problem if I had to wear a duty belt. All in all, a great pair of rain gear. Lesson learned on the sizing. I'll probably give them to someone that's a little taller than me and order the 30 inseam ones.

THese have huge wide legs from top to bottom, no tapering, would be tough to walk through the jungle or swamp in without snagging trees. Why does it not say waterproof on the listing name.

Love the drawcord waist which allows some studying flexibility. Pant legs are quite wide (to fit over boots?), But do feature a Velcro strap to make them a bit less unwieldy. Material is great, doesn't stick to skin. Could wear over thermal pants for waterproof snow pant alternative.

Haven't used them yet, bought for a trip to Europe during rainy season. As far as the workmanship goes, it seems to be a good value.

To be clear, I rarely have to use these and so far I've only worn them in summer thunderstorms. They definitely keep you dry, however if you wear them for more than 30 minutes to an hour you're probably going to be wet anyway from your own sweat. Again, maybe that isn't an issue in winter showers or snow, but in the south in the summer, get ready to be sweaty. That being said, they work great, keep you dry, and fold up easily to go in a gear bag. They go on quickly over pants and shoes and come off the same way. The inseam is a little long, but theres a velcro strap on the ankle so it's not an issue.

Got these pants as a replacement for my dad's last pair. Seems good quality. Nice 2 layer material. The fit was a little weird, but looks like it will do the job

I was a bit surprised at how big the bottom of the legs are. I guess they ware made that way to pull over boots, but they seem extremely large. They have velcro adjustments, but don't adjust very much. Probably would have been better with an elastic bottom. I may add additional velcro or get some kind of band for the bottom of the leg. Otherwise these seem like a quality product.

These rain pants are exactly what they say, nothing fancy but they do they job of keeping your dry. There's no pockets, or way to access your pants/shorts under the rain pants. There's an elastic waistband with a bungee for adjusting the fit. They were comfortable, and relatively lightweight. I'm 6'0 175 lbs and got the M with 32 inseam and they fit nicely. They are very baggy at the bottom, while there's a velcro strap to adjust that, there's still a lot of material there. I would've preferred a more "regular" fit. I gave these 4 stars instead of 5 just because of how basic they are, as well as how baggy they are at the bottom.

The Velcro ankle cuffs are poorly designed essentially making them useless. Annoying. Takes some luster off a good product for the price. I'm 5'10" w/ a 32 inch waist. Mediums were a tad bigger than I would have liked, but I'm guessing a small would be too tight.

I bought these specifically for a trip to rainy southeast Alaska. The pants were easy to pack, kept me dry, and fit over my clothes comfortably.

I've used this rain pant on several snowy, muddy hikes and love them. They keep my legs dry and warm. Love them. But, not having pockets or a zipper makes them pretty inconvenient to wear. Your choice; price vs. convenience.

Purchased for Antarctic expedition, so hope it will do the job. I would have liked to have it a bit slimmer cut, and perhaps a couple of pockets.

This rain pants work well; I would have liked the length to be an inch or longer. They are used for riding a bike on a commute to classes and work. While pedaling, the leg rises somewhat , having slightly longer length would not expose the ankle in such a manner. However I really like them

These rain pants work well. I have used them for a month while guiding in S.E. Alaska. They sweat a little bit on the inside, but I was also using them in some fairly wet conditions
