Have had this for a little while (less than 2 years) and don't break it out that often. Used it on a backpacking trip and realized it can handle about 20 minutes of light rain before getting wet on the inside and about an hour of rain before it is completely useless. Don't waste your money.

It did not fit me well. I have returned this jacket and ordered another one.

I purchased this coat from an online retailer in mid october.. the water repellency was not great from the start but last night my clothes underneath got soaked through when I walked my dog in medium rain. luckily the retailer is letting me return it, but I will be avoiding TNF for rain products for a few years as a result, and would recommend you do too...

Tried out another relaxed fit model in shops but ordered online as this is not available in my country. Turns out to be an active fit. I am aware that the active fit is tighter, so am quite annoyed with the false information on the website.

I'm really disappointed in this jacket, especially at this price point. I live in Vancouver where it rains often and biblically. During our first big downpour after purchasing, my shoulders, back and arms were wet. Ive since given it two more wears in heavy rain with the same result. I'll be taking it back to where I purchased it, and, given I am not the only reviewer with this experience, I hope TNF is able to do something in the future to prevent its "impenetrable" fabrics from underperforming.

Purchased this jacket feeling confident in the North Face name and Gore-tex name. I have looked for a lightweight waterproof rain jacket for over a year and finally decided on this one. First downpour I was in, the jacket leaked. Even got wet the next day in a slow steady rain. The tops of the arms, the shoulders and the hood all leaked. I was definately expecting better for a Gore-tex jacket. I loved that the jacket was softer than most Gore-tex jackets but since it's not waterproof, it's a waste of money.
