They do have a presence! They appear much larger than most shoes for sure, and I would be better off with a half size smaller. I usually do (women's) 8.5 in Brooks, but 8 would probably be better. I am not usually into packaging so much, but after reading about the spaceship box, I got excited, then disappointed when it was just the ordinary box. No rocket ship? I have yet to test the shoes out, but they feel comfy just trying them on.

I loved the comfort of these shoes, but they were too narrow for me across the top of my feet. My feet are fairly wide, so if you have wide feet, these may not be the right shoes for you.

I wanted these to work so much. As soon as I put them on they were so comfortable on the padding of my feet. I went for a short walk and tried to run in them. By the time I got home my little toe was completely numb. These are way to heavy to run in as well. I ordered a half size bigger and they still just didn't work.

I bought this model to replace a pair of Brooks Trance 12 which I loved, but that model is no longer available. The shoe felt like it had an excellent level of support, and the look was consistent with other Brooks running shoes, however the toe box was very narrow which made them uncomfortable for me. My toes were squished from the sides, not from the length. I have not had this problem with other Brooks running shoes, so I exchanged these for a pair of the Ariels which have always worked for me.

Ordered the same size as I wore in the Trance...the Transcend was too short and not as wide. Returned and will have to shop around for a new stability running shoe.

Let me begin by saying that I am a long time Brooks owner. I would estimate that I have worn nothing but Brooks for the last 15 years. For the past eight years I have worn Brooks' Trance. I was upset when I learned that the Trance was being discontinued, but was excited to read about the shoe that would be its replacement. Lots of glowing information about all the new technology that this shoe would have. I counted the days until the release of this new shoe, the "Transcend." I first tried the shoe on and found it to be half size too large going by all of my purchases of my Trances. Was a little skeptical of the width, but decided to purchase. Now let me say that I will be using the word "too" to describe this shoe. First of all, it is "too" expensive. It is "too" narrow, "too" rigid, "too" uncomfortable, and did I say, "too" expensive. I have tried to like this shoe because I have been such a Brooks believer. I have purchased more than one pair, but I am saying, "Uncle." I run six times a week, and go ten miles on each day. I have to have a shoe that is comfortable and gives me stability and comfort. This shoe does neither. I am going to Adidas for my next pair of shoes. Would never recommend this shoe.

I purchased the Transcend only because when I went to purchase a new pair of Trance shoes the sales rep for Brooks said they had been replaced by the Transcend. I tried them on and they felt large. I went half a size down. I have been struggling since I purchased them. The toe box is smaller and my toes seem to rub up on the inner part of the shoe. I went two weeks ago and purchased the same shoe a half size larger. What a waste of my money. I really had hoped they would work out for me but unfortunately today after a six mile run I realized I had a blister. Now of course I will need to go purchase a new shoe. I am disappointed because I honestly love Brooks shoes. I ran my first half marathon four years ago. Not in a Brooks shoe. After the marathon was over I had problems with my right foot and needed two sets of cortisone shots. Since then I purchased my first set of Brooks and have not had any more problems. I have been purchasing Brooks ever since. I am disappointed that the Trance is discontinued and very disappointed with the Transcend.

Everyone is different and I love cushiony shoes. I usually run in several hoka models and Skechers ultra run (yes, Skechers, don't knock 'em 'til you try them)! I run 20-25 mikes a week. I hate these shoes! I am a running shoe nut and have tried almost every brand on the market. I do like brook launch. These shoes are so stiff! No flexibility at all. I returned them. If you like firm and lots of stability this shoe is for you! If you are a more neutral lover and enjoy flexibility, I suggest you look around.
