'm a sportfishing captain in key west Florida and these shoes pass all the test's I give them. I just bought a new pair simply because I liked the new colors. I get them wet in saltwater and fresh and there dry the next morning. The sole's are nonslip and far superior to any other boat shoe I have ever owned. I have encore's and sandal's and if it ain't broke don't fix it, Merrell's all the way!

Just back from spending a week rafting the Grand Canyon on the Colorado River. These shoes held up perfectly, drained fast and worked fine for wet or dry hiking. They were fairly porous to fine sand, but a pair of ultralight hiking socks made for easy walking and no sunburned ankles. A good rinse in the river at nightfall and the shoes were dry by morning. Terrific traction on the raft and on slippery rocks, good support for hiking. Very pleased with my Merrells.

I wear these mostly for pool walking, they are very light which is great. They are good for that. More stylish than average I have worn them out and about on occasion.

Zappos comes through as usual. Their process is flawless. They do what they say when they say every single time. This product is a Merrell standard that wears great fits according to size and hopefully lasts the sane 6 years my other Merrells did.

I ordered a 9.5 and got a 8.5 shoes even thought the box says 9.5. Had to return instead of exchanging since I'm going out of town.

This is my second set of shoes like these. They are a very light and comfortable summer shoe that's breathable and can handle getting wet/water activities since they are designed to dry out quickly. I wore them on a hike and felt good support. You can comfortably wear them with or without socks.

I am a new construction carpenter in New England. I buy a pair of these shoes every year. Nothing I have ever worn grips the roof pitches better or is more lightweight and breathable. I will keep getting this shoe forever if Merrell keeps making it. Pair # 5 is coming on Monday. If superheroes wore mesh sneakers, they would wear these.

Excellent product. You put this shoe on and forget you have them on your feet. I am a 73 year old male; having had a double knee replacement a year ago has allowed me to get back to some hard walking here in NY. Your product has done a true service to my feet, age and lifestyle. I strongly recommend anybody to buy the Merrell Waterpro Maipo shoe. Thank you.

Hiked the Zion Narrows in these and they were perfect! Run large, I had to get a whole size smaller than I normally wear.

I bought these shoes for my husband, who is 6'5" and diabetic. Our podiatrist approved of the shoes for him. He is able to fit an orthotic inside. Merrells are great, and I would highly recommend them for anyone who has foot issues.

I really like these shoes. Very comfortable. I had to go 1 size larger to accommodate my wide foot and it's perfect (and not too long). The color is awesome and had garnered a positive comment or two from others.

I've had the same pair for 4 years now - 5-6 days a week - and they're still holding up - that's after slogging thru mud, kayaking, hunting... You name it. They've been in the Atlantic, the Gulf, several rivers and a dozen streams. If u consider cost per wear, these are the cheapest shoes I've ever worn. Buying my second and third and fourth pair now before I can't find them again. Amazed that they're still being made and sold. But with quality like this, I guess I shouldn't be surprised at all.

Style like jogging shoe. I wear usually for walking every day. Looks nice. Fits well. Seems well made. Have another Merrell, too. Like them both. This one has less arch support & more toe room. I usually order a 16 in most shoes; ordered a 15 here & it fits well.

Having worn these all through last summer, I love everything about them -- except one thing, and it is a big thing: the orange strap that anchors the lacing system is fraying badly. I'm hoping that it will hold up for a while longer, but I have doubts. Everything else is great. They are extremely comfortable and stable and dry quickly. The fit is good; I have a narrow heel and had no problem with the medium width.

I found the construction of the shoes to be below what I would expect for a shoe at this price. For example, the insole came out the first time I took my foot out, and some of the shoe was poorly sewn together (unfinished stitches in the tongue, frayed fabric after light use, etc.). Additionally, I found the shoe to run a half size large for me (typically wear 10-1/2, but own a 10 in this shoe). On the positive side, the shoe looks very nice, and is very comfortable. I'm just not impressed with the construction is all.

Just returned from a trip to Costa Rica where these shoes were my primary choice. They endured some hiking, water sports, and other rugged activity. The support is pretty good. I particularly like the light weight and breathability of the shoe. I wish Merrell had ensured that the inside walls of the shoes were softer/smoother since these can double as water shoes. Some of the stitching and seams are rough and can be uncomfortable without socks. I ordered a couple pairs of this shoes and both had the same roughness. That keeps it from getting a 5 star review.

I tried to buy a next generation minimalist Merrells, now discontinued, that I have been trying to kill for 5 years now. Still wearing them...these were the only ones in the lineup that looked even remotely similar. They are not as good. Cushioning isn't quite there, some of the synthetic overlays look a bit cheesy, I have more pressure on my instep too - all in all not a total disappointment - its an adequate shoe, but not the fantastic shoe I bought from Merrell all these years ago.

Bought these and immediately hiked the Grand Canyon (south Rim) and then onto to Moab Utah. I went to all the typical spots around the canyon except rafting (the same with Moab). The shoe comfort was not so great. First I had to go up a half size. Unlike most Merrell, these did not really "form fit" around my feet. And while yes I understand they're a water shoe, they were just about unusable on the trail. Especially in the canyon where there were a lot of "sandy" conditions, the shoes would literally fill up with sand and get uncomfortable quickly. The grip on all surfaces was excellent. In the end, I would not recommend these for the various reasons.

Looking for a water shoe to replace my Keen McKenzie that I wear all the time. These shoes are ok but not as impressed with them as the Keen. I don't like the sandal style shoe as my feet slip around once the shoe get wet. I like the style and they are semi comfortable arch support is minimal. I haven't gotten them wet yet so I can't yet speak for how well they dry after they get wet.

I don't like them, I been wearing Waterpro for 10 years now. This is my least favorite design. The shoes don't form to your feet well, the shoe strings are too long, the soles are too thick which makes it difficult to judge edges.

I use these for wet wading. I have seen that both pairs I have owned (one purchased the other a replacement) had the straps fray and then break within a fairly short period of time. Aren't other people having this problem? I am very surprised that this has not come up for others as it has happened to me on the two pairs I have owned.
