Unfortunately I had to return these. They were much wider than I expected. This purchase along with some Keens were my first venture away from sneakers in a long time. I'm not disappointed with the shoe itself.

Great shoes. Very comfortable right out of the box. I hiked up and down Bald Mountain in the Adirondaks right after I got them. They provided good stability and traction over rocks. Also used them on a rainy day and stayed dry.

One of the few wide shoes that felt like it was truly made for wide feet. Very comfortable; good overall support. The shoes have been quite comfortable both for standing all day as well as walking and bike riding.

Finally, Merrells that I love! I had the Moab Ventilators for about a year and enjoyed them but didn't love them. I picked these Pulsates out looking for a general walking/hiking shoe totally forgetting that I had the Moabs. I got these and were pleasantly surprised how well they fit right out of the box! My Moabs never really broke in, they always felt tight and not wide enough. I had ordered the Pulsates in the exact same size, both 13 Wides, and the Pulsates felt amazing. Not sure if the Pulsates fit true to size and the Moabs run a size slimmer or the other way around? Regardless, compared to the Moabs these Pulsates have slightly less padding on the tongue and around the ankles, making for a slightly lighter feel to the shoes and better suited to walking in my opinion when you might not need all of the extra cushioning from the Moabs. Also, the bottom tread on these Pulsates has excellent gripping power whereas I was slipping on concrete city sidewalks in the rain in my Moabs. Very happy with these Pulsates from Merrell!

Please note that you can order this shoe in normal or wide. I have a wide foot, but ordered the normal width, which turned out to be perfect for me. I love these shoes! They are very comfortable and sturdy and I feel comfortable in them for daily use to work as well as for hiking. The red and grey is very nice.

Finally a shoe that is wide enough for my fat feet. The guy that sold it to me had Brooks and everything. Great shoe. If you struggle to find a shoe for your wide foot like I do, check out Merrell! They hit it out of the park! Stop looking for $30 shoes, spend the extra money now!

I've worn Merrell shoes for years. I work on my feet all day. A lot of walking, ladders and stairs. I need a shoe which gives my feet a little more protection then a running shoe. This shoe fits the bill.

It is a very sturdy shoe. I am very pleased. If Merrell makes a similar shoe but with mesh instead of leather uppers, I'd buy that one too..

I bought these shoes based on a recommendation from a friend at work. I am on my feet for a good portion of the day, so I need a shoe that is comfortable and light weight. This shoe satisfies both of those. It's not the softest show out there, but my feet do not hurt at all even after a 16 hour day. They seem durable, and that they will last a long time.

Came back to Merrell awhile back, my feet keep thanking me. Always wore Moab vents, Pulsate not as cool.

I bought 3 pairs of these shoes over the last couple of years, and I'm returning the 3rd, unworn pair as I write this. The shoes fit well, and I find most things about them to be great; the downside, however, is that they are very stiff -- both the soles and the leather, and I've developed tendonitis as a result of the lack of flexibility. I'm an old guy and I have weird feet anyway, so I don't know if many others will find this to be a problem.

This is my second pair of these this year. I have been wearing Merrells for quite a few years and I wanted a comfortable hiking shoe. This is one of the few that comes in a wide width and I find it more comfortable than the others that I tried. I recommend it.

Bought these for my son who has always worn Merrell's. He says they are a stiff shoe that required some break in time. Sole has good traction except on smooth wet surfaces such as polished concrete or metal. Once broke in they proved to be quite comfortable. Price may be high but you need to pay to get quality shoes nowadays.

Didn't break in after a week, and it was possibly the most uncomfortable shoe I've ever worn. Disappointed after hearing how comfortable Merrells were supposed to be.
