I work 10 hour days, so I wanted something that breathed well, and would stand up to heavy use. After three weeks (150 hours), I feel like these were a good choice. The leather is softer than expected and had minimal break-in time. These fit wider than some Danner wides and Carolina wides that I tried as well.

Great boot, very comfortable. This is my first pair of Thorogood boots and won't be my last! Zappos is an awesome place to purchase.

I work in the trades. I always bought Red Wings till a friend told me about these. By far the best work boots I have ever owned. They are rugged enough for construction sites while being comfortable they have no break in time. The best part in the they are union made in the U.S.A.

Great American made boot. Leather is very soft and sole is nice and cushy. Great job Thorogood.

The only thing that should come between you and these boots is your personal style. Every other attribute of these boots checks out and exceeds quality for price. The icing on the cake is Zappos amazing service!

I really liked the boots themselves. They are well made and look great. The width in a D was too narrow and the EE were too wide so unfortunately, I had to send them both back.

Great quality, no break in.

Very nice boot, pretty comfortable once you get the sizing right, but man, it took me so long to find a pair that felt right. I was sent a total of 4 pairs before they finally felt good. The sizing of this brand is VERY inconsistent and inaccurate. First pair I ordered was in 9.5 D width (medium) based on the recommendations of many people that I should order half a size down from my true shoe size. So I did just that and they were just waaay too tight. So I sent them back, and I ordered a size 10 - my true shoe size - but now they were just way too big! So I sent those back and tried to order a size 9.5 again, but this time in width EE (wide), but Zappos had run out of that particular configuration, so I had to wait for them to restock. I waited for a month and they still had not restocked so in frustration, I just ordered a size 9.5 D width again just to see what happens, and lo and behold, they fit perfect this time! I was excited to finally get a comfortable boot when I noticed that one of the boots felt really weird. Upon further inspection, I noticed that the right boot was in fact defective. The upper (leather part of the boot) was sown off-center to the outsole (bottom base of the boot), so that half of my foot hung off the edge of wedge outsole and caused pain. I was incredibly disappointed and contacted Zappos yet again, and they immediately sent me a replacement pair. FINALLY with the replacement pair, they got the sizing right and there were no obvious defects, BUT THIS TIME THE BOOT WAS DIFFERENT! Even though the configuration was the same - same size, same width, same color - you could tell that the boot was just different looking. The color was more vibrant and the general shape of the boot was just different and didn't look as good, so again, I inspect the boot and noticed that the tag was also different from the previous pair I got. I don't know if Thorogood has multiple locations making their boots, or if Zappos got annoyed with me and sent me a knockoff boot, but at that point I had enough and just gave up. I won't be sending these weird looking boots back. I'll just give them away to someone. Extremely annoyed and disappointed with Thorogood.

A well constructed boot but EE is still too narrow for my feet. The stitching lines up right on the metatarsal joint of my big toes and causes quite a bit of discomfort.
