This boot is great. It was here in less than 72 hours .... thanks Zappos ... awesome as usual. I expected the boot to have to be broken in and leave a few blisters. Nope great out of the box. I have a narrow foot which this boot was great for! They definitely know what they are doing up in Wisconsin at the factory. Great boot. Better than anticipated!

The fit is great. The leather is awesome. It's soft and loose but seems very thick and strong. The sole is a bit flat and hard, but I planned on putting insoles in them anyhow. I'm on my feet 8 hours a day and my feet aren't throbbing at the end of the day. I gotta say they look great as well.

Comfortable work boot for day to day use.

My husbands feet usually reject every shoe I have ever bought him. However, he LOVES these. He says they are very comfortable and very warm, also waterproof. I like them because they look really good with jeans, and make him look like he has some style! I recommend these very much.

Had to get these for work, but you could easily wear them beyond just working. Not only are these great quality, they have a great look to them!

I purchased these at a local shop in Los Angeles, but the price still worked out to about the same. I was shopping around for something else today and ended up on this page, so I figured that I would share my experience. I had been wearing men's 13W shoes and boots for years in all sorts of styles (military, construction, etc) for 30 years. Most often Danners. But Danners are more expensive than get out these days, and their construction grade boot line-up is lacking. After trying on standard 13 at the local shop, I ordered the 13W safety toe version thinking that this should work. They did not. The standard wide was still way too narrow, and my feet were getting squeezed to the point that the toe was pushing through to the end of the toe box. I am reordered the 14W, and those were much better. A little localized stretching at one small-toe corner to accommodate a bunion, and everything is perfect in the foot world. These are easily as or more comfortable than any other full-leather, safety toe work boot that I have ever worn, including Danners (military and other styles). They seem more sturdy than Red Wings (I have not owned a pair, although I have tried them on many times). I totally forget that they are steel toe if I do not consciously think about it. Overall, one of the best value purchases that I have ever made in shoes. I have read that as one approaches and enters their 50's that their feet often will get bigger, as much as a full size. I would agree with that, up to a point. I recently purchased a pair of Merrill MOAB mid-tops for a Yosemite camping and hiking trip (Valley Floor loop). The Merrill 13W just fit comfortably, but barely, with thin socks. A 14W (unavailable to try on at the time) might have fit even better. Just be aware of this issue as we age.

Great work boots! Have spent many hours running around job sites and my feet have felt comfortable all day. Didn't take long to break in either.

I obtained a job at the last minute while I was on vacation and required to wear steel toe boots. I searched for a few days for the perfect pair that had zero break in time. I ended up ordering these Thorogood safety toes in a 12 regular width. I wouldn't consider my feet narrow but not wide either. I usually only wear athletic shoes, specifically, Nike Frees. The Nike 12.5 fits me perfectly and that's why I got the 12s in the Thorogood. When I received them they seemed too large and too narrow so Zappos sent me an 11.5 and EE to swap out for free and required me to return the pair I didn't chose within so many days. These boots have been excellent. The first moment I put them on there was a small pressure point where the leather overlapped but after about 10 minutes I didn't even notice. It's been about 4 weeks wearing the boots up to 14 hours a day. I couldn't have asked for a better pair. It is too soon to determine the quality but they're holding up well so far. Plus, they look fantastic! Very pleased and would buy them again as long as I get reasonable life out of them.

Just got these yesterday. I bought them for work (I work in a warehouse so a lot of walking and being on my feet) the outsoles are very durable and slip resistant. The steel toe is impact resistant to 75lbs and compression resistant to 2500 lbs. They seem to be comfortable (I only wore them a little since getting them). Very durable and high quality leather that is a bit stiff but I imagine will break in very nicely. If you're looking for a no frills get stuff done boot, this is probably it. (MADE IN USA.)

Boot felt extremely high quality. Top notch stitching and detail. Welt was impeccable and the leather on the boot was the best feeling leather ive ever seen on a workboot by far. Unfortunately even in a 12EE extra wide it was far too narrow for me. Which is a shame. I have wanted to try thorogood for a while but other manufacturers make boots that cater to guys like me with extra wide feet.

Didn't like the color and the size was much bigger than normal. Also toe had a slight lift to it. Didn't like that either.

Boot fit true to size and width. Required minimal break-in time. Overall great quality and comfort boot!

True to fit and comfortable. Wear these for 12+ hour shifts on concrete and they hold up well.

Best boots I ever owned. I'm going to buy another set for casual wear. Highly recommend these boots. The laces were okay but I wanted beefer ones which I purchased off Amazon.

These shoes are really comfortable. They did not take long to break in but took about 4 days of wearing them to break them in. Just a minor detail but the shoelaces could be better hit overall the shoes are great.

Thorogood is a quality boot that functions well in an industrial environment and looks great. Boot does have speed hooks for lacing quickly. Only complaint is initially it does feel snug on the outside of my foot, but the leather does stretch. It takes less than a week to break in. I do recommend these if you don't mind a short break-in.

2 weeks in and I'm loving these boots. Out of the the box, these boots felt ready to wear. The toe protection was a little stiff around my toes the first 2 days but that seems to have smoothed out. The leather is soft and supple and I love the color. They did have a slight "chemical" smell, maybe from the dye? I put them through a lexol clean/condition and that has also gone away. It also seemed to make the color even richer. I wear a size 9 1/2 in Nikes and opted for 8.5 wide in these and they feel great.

the leather is soft, so there is practically no break-in period. i've had these pair of boot for almost a month and they keep getting better.

Need to be broken in. I don’t have a wide foot and these are a bit tight and need to be stretched out.
