I agree with the other reviewer's comment regarding sizing and initial stiffness. I am a big ECCO fan; I have two pairs of work/dress shoes, sandals and now these. My podiatrist recommended ECCO's as a quality, long lasting shoe that has a fairly neutral platform which makes them excellent for orthotics for my plantar fasciitis. The arch support is minimal without an insert so keep that in mind if you need arch support. ECCO's RUN LARGE! All my other non-ECCO shoes sizes are 9.5 (43) and with ECCOs I always need a size smaller (42). Otherwise, these shoes are very comfortable and nice enough looking to wear with casual business attire. I specifically bought these to wear when vacationing in Paris so I had comfortable shoes for all the walking and museum visits while at the same time not wearing running shoes/sneakers that scream American tourist.

This is my second set of remarks on these fine Eccos. I have worn Eccos for 10-15 years. I have never been unhappy. However, Ecco does seem to have tweaked their size and width and sole some - enough to be very careful about size selection. I wanted to share a couple of things: be patient with the size and also give the shoes just a while on the carpet to get past the early stiffness. I think, like me, you will be pleasantly surprised. They are nicely constructed and very comfortable shoe, again, once you get past the size frustration especially (my normal size is 43; however, at first, the 42 felt a better choice but later the 42 ended up being too tight) Again, patience is key here but it is worth it, in the end, I think. These Ecco shoes seem to be exceptionally well made shoes. Unlike being an old time Ecco pure 43, I am now finding myself somewhere between a 43 and a 42 - and still deciding around the house, which will be the best for me. However, the shoes themselves are of the high standards I have come to know and respect and enjoy for the past 10-15 years. I would highly recommend to others as comfortable walking shoe options and I, personally, think the style is awesome! And Zappos' service never ceases to excel!

This is a great shoe! Great look, great support and comfort for long walks. I bought it for travel so I would hopefully, not look like another raging American tourist in Europe!

Love these -- and all Ecco shoes I have purchased from Zappos -- they fit good, feel great, wear fantastic, best shoe I have ever owned -- period!

Purchased as walking shoe for trip to Europe. Shoe is very comfortable & stable, but takes some breaking in. Like the style & would recommend to others.

Got these for my Dad who is 79 and he absolutely loved them. Said they were super comfortable for casual wear or golf even.

First impressions so far: average looks and design, advertised color is warm grey but looks more olivish! Zappos/ECCO categories as walking shoe but its only a casual shoe, has good arch support but lacks cushioning as the sole is pretty hard and lacks flexibility of a sport shoe. Upper leather is hard not soft but looks durable. Will try for couple of weeks and see how it breaks in and comment back!

PROS: Ecco quality. Good materials. CONS: Significant heel-cuff rub on my lower-back ankle. Outsole is less grippy than expected.

I'm normally a size 11-12. I eventually had to get these in a "14-14.5," their largest size, and they're still a little too small, although I do still wear them now. it's a shame, too, because I can tell it'd be an awesome shoe if it just fit a little better. But yeah - definitely offset the size you order for these by like one, two, or even three sizes.
