I bought the men's (see my previous review) instead of the woman's classic. I must say that these are just awesome, just awesome!! When ! do Fitball, my feet in tennis shoes would slip in certain moves. I needed something that would grip better on carpet. I read the woman's reviews of this style for this purpose. OMG, what a difference that made. The classic is now my go to shoe. BTW, my foot measures 10-1/4 - 10-3/8 inches and I wear a C width. The men's 41 fit me perfectly vs. the ladies 42. Ladies for those of you having a wide foot, try the men's version of the same shoe. I wish that Vibram would make the straps on the woman's shoe longer or more forgiving for a wider foot.

These are still, by far, the best Vibrams. The newer models have gotten away from being minimalist and some are downright clunky and heavy. These guys give that barely there barefoot feel and the lack of tops means they stay way cooler (a big problem with the more enclosed models...the mesh does not breathe as well as you would think.) My original pair are still going strong. Just a machine wash and hang to dry once a week and they are good to go.

I have been wearing these shoes for almost 10 years. They are my favorite general purpose house shoe, yoga/pilates shoe and running shoe. You can wash the shoes in the washing machine and hang to dry. The fabric does absorb water so wearing them in the rain is not suggested.

I had to return this it kept bunching up in the toes bought the kso instead which was great

I really liked my old pair of Five Fingers, but they started to fall apart. Thus I was really excited to get a new pair, especially when the right foot fit perfectly. The left foot though... after close examination I realized the left shoes was a women’s shoe! That’s why I’m returning them. Think if I order them again, they’ll both be a men’s size?

They're classic for a reason. Super comfortable to wear around the house and my go to for beach running. Still wouldn't be caught with them in public though... they are as unfashionable as you have heard.

I've bought these twice. They were an essential step for me to transition from heel striking to a mid-foot landing in my running gait. It took about five years to correct that. Now I can run in shoes, but I always wear Altra.

These shoes feel great! I bought them to go running on the beach in the Turks & Caicos. I can't wait to use them next month.

Once I got the size right for my needs they work great for train running. I followed the Zappos size suggestions initially. I wear a 12.5 sneaker and an 11 custom fit western boot. I finally settled on a size 43 (9.5 - 10.5) instead of a size 45. If you get these go two sizes down from your usual shoe size in order to save time sending shoes back and forth.

Again, just as fantastic as the other pair. I don't feel like I have anything on my feet and for someone that has continuously swollen feet and likes to go barefoot, these fit the bill perfectly!

PRO: Years ago I bought a similar shoe from another company. They were great bit did not last long. These fit perfectly and are as close to bare feet as you will get. The quality seems very high and I expect them to last. I am usually in bare feet but if you are not used to walking this way you may need some time to adjust. It is worth it. These provide decent protection while still allowing you to feel the ground surface. For the beach, hiking or trails they are great. CON: Only one. Let's face it, they are dorky looking! I'm ordering another pair styled more like sneakers for wear to public places.

After purchasing a pair for me, my husband who runs around constantly in bare feet says where is my pair? So I measured his foot (10-3/4 inches) and ordered a basic pair for him. According to the Vibram site his foot in inches equals a 44. Low and behold its a perfect fit. My husband is a D-E width with long toes. So after showing him how to get in the shoe, he loves them. His gait is better, and walks better. Now he trying to decide how to wear them to work or anther pair of 5 fingers to work and get away with them. This is his go to shoe now beside the V-Aqua which he wears for boating. Just a great alternative for those who love the bare foot feeling.

I have a wide foot and chubby toes. Many of the woman's styles were to tight, the straps were to tight or my little toe (including bunion) would not fit. Now for the sizing. I measured my foot in inches (10 1/4 inches) and according to the Vibram site I am a 42 woman or 41 men. So I bought both. The woman's fit perfect but was a snug fit especially on my larger chubby big toes and little toes. The men's however, because they are a D width, fit better. So I am keeping these because they are sooooooooooo comfortable, no straps, and my very first pair. Now my husband wants a pair so ordering him a pair.

keeps feet cool . It's like walking barefooted with added protection for NYC unforgiving streets . You feel every thing which forces , you to go from a unnatural Heel strike to a more natural forefoot strike . Which at first feels weird and hurts your feet and calves . After a few times of wearing , your foot muscles and tendons start to grow and get stronger . You start to feel less pain in the knees hips lower back . Is it wise to wear one day for the first week . Two days spread out throughout the second week . Three days spread out on the third week until your feet and legs get stronger to wear everyday .Is best to let soak with Epsom salt and peppermint soap overnight and let air-dry or propped up against a box fan , not in direct sunlight .

I got these for my husband after he coveted mine - I use mine for the gym. After reading that these ran small, I planned accordingly. He likes them but we ended up getting another pair and a size smaller fit him perfectly (size 44 vs. 43). I'd say it depends on what you're using them for. He wears these around the house but feels the "support" isn't as much as some of the bulkier Vibrams. He likes them though.

I love these shoes. They are like walking barefoot with the benefit of the Vibram sole to protect you from thorns or rocks. I have worn lots of other "barefoot" shoes. They aren't. I still like them for many purposes but they are nothing like these. I use these for walking and hiking and occasional sprinting. I don't run or jog distance in these. I think you would have to have very strong feet and very good running form/gait in order to Run distance in these. They look funny, but I still like them. If you were worried about fashion you probably wouldn't be on this page anyway.

People always ask me if they are comfortable. The answer is yes. It's like being barefooted and they feel great after a long day in regular shoes. On the street you can feel every little crack in the pavement, but the bottoms are thick enough that it doesn't hurt. With the open top they do look like female pumps, but the design makes them light and airy. I don't like the heavy, covered top styles which, unlike sandals, are heavy and bulky. I normally wear a size 44 (men's 10.5-11), but had to go for a size 45. The smaller size hurt my toes while a larger size wouldn't stay on. Like any shoe, there is a break in period before they feel comfortable. Overall, I'm pleased and satisfied.

I have been a long time merrell fan because i dont wanna buy special socks or not wear socks because my feet sweet during workouts. Merrell used to make a pair similar to these when they first came out, now they only make em for women. When i seen five fingers make a open top shoe i had to try it out. These are my first fingers shoes and all i can say is,wow! The width is great not to narrow, there easy to get my digits in, as there is no shoe tongue to get in way. It's like having knuckle cut gloves but for feet. Since tops are open you do get a little suction cup action in arch when toes point up but it's welcome as it airs foot bed out and doesn't encourage shoe to slip off. I think these will be my go to martial arts training shoes from now on, just start rolling the broom stick on feet tops, as this shoes obviously provides no protection there, but it's worth it....as it almost looks like the old school shaolin Lohan slipper. I'll be ordering a couple pairs!

Nonabsorbent lumpy Vibram label in heel of foot is a deal breaker for me.

I liked the idea of the shoe but it was too large and when I tightened the straps, the bottom of my shoe flopped causing a loud “farting” noise.

I measured by foot and was between two sized so I ordered the larger of the two but it was still quite small.
